I think (after some guy told the he thought :P) that this song is about his love for a norwegian heavy metall band when he was a kid
In concert Rob Crow said it was about when himself and their drummer went to see their favorite black metal band Mayhem and the song is about that evening

the song is called talby who is one of the characters from darkstar and he jst sits in the observatory room of the space ship hoping to see the pheonix commet so this song has nothing to do with that character so i think its just a deeper meaning for mr crow
