Chim Chim Cher-ee! Lyrics
Chim chiminey
Chim chiminey
Chim chim cher-ee!
A sweep is as lucky
As lucky can be
Chim chiminey
Chim chiminey
Chim chim cher-oo!
Good luck will rub off when
I shake hands with you
Or blow me a kiss
And that's lucky too
Now as the ladder of life
Has been strung
You may think a sweep's
On the bottom-most rung
Though I spends me time
In the ashes and soot
In this ol' wide world
There's no happier bloke
Up where the smoke is
All billered and curled
'Tween pavement and stars
Is the chimney sweep world
When there's hardly no day
Nor hardly no night
There's things half in shadow
And half way in light
On the roof tops of London
Coo, what a sight!
I choose me bristles with pride
Yes, I do
A broom for the shaft
And a broom for the flume
Though I'm covered with soot
From me head to me toes
A sweep knows he's welcome
Wherever he goes
Chim chiminey
Chim chiminey
Chim chim cher-ee!
When you're with a sweep
You're in glad company
No where is there
A more happier crew
Than them wot sings
"Chim chim cher-ee
Chim cher-oo!"
On the chim chiminey
Chim chim cher-ee
Chim cher-oo!
Chim chiminey
Chim chim cher-ee!
A sweep is as lucky
As lucky can be
Chim chiminey
Chim chim cher-oo!
Good luck will rub off when
I shake hands with you
Or blow me a kiss
And that's lucky too
Has been strung
You may think a sweep's
On the bottom-most rung
In the ashes and soot
In this ol' wide world
There's no happier bloke
All billered and curled
'Tween pavement and stars
Is the chimney sweep world
Nor hardly no night
There's things half in shadow
And half way in light
On the roof tops of London
Coo, what a sight!
Yes, I do
A broom for the shaft
And a broom for the flume
From me head to me toes
A sweep knows he's welcome
Wherever he goes
Chim chiminey
Chim chim cher-ee!
When you're with a sweep
You're in glad company
A more happier crew
Than them wot sings
"Chim chim cher-ee
Chim cher-oo!"
On the chim chiminey
Chim chim cher-ee
Chim cher-oo!

The song's about a dirty shaft belonging to someone too stoopid to know that he hasn't grown in decades...and all by choice. Whoopie for him. He's such a free, independent soul! Let's just hope the next time he sticks his shaft into someone it catches a nasty germ;)
Two changes in one line - this should be, "a broom for the shaft, and a brush for the flue". Almost no site on the internet has it correct (except http://www.disneyclips.com/lyrics/lyrics98.html ), but listen carefully to the song via youtube, and you can hear it.
