A Fool's Paradise Lyrics
unfurl revealing a blackened haze
Conditioned to fear the voice that we
hear - calling an end of days
Millions of souls under control
like pawns to a king, led by a string, to
the final hour
technology that fell into the void
Oh shall it be as it was before - a
tragedy on every shore?
Innocence lost so long ago
Woven in dreams - the darkest of
schemes now takes hold of our destiny
Decades of greed, plague, famine and
war - we can't go on like this anymore
living like fools - chaos will rule this
eternal paradise
of the modern age
the wisdom of life erased from the
Earth - in a reckless rampage
technology that fell into the void
Oh shall it be as it was before - a
tragedy on every shore?
Innocence lost so long ago
Woven in dreams - the darkest of
schemes now takes hold of our destiny
Decades of greed, plague, famine and
war - we can't go on like this anymore
living like fools - chaos will rule this
eternal paradise
favilla
war - we can't go on like this anymore
living like fools - chaos will rule this
eternal paradise
Innocence lost so long ago
Woven in dreams - the darkest of
schemes now takes hold of our destiny
Decades of greed, plague, famine and
war - we can't go on like this anymore
Lost in the Night - fading from sight - is
this the final setting sun?

It's basically about how Earth is a paradise for the blind. Constantly destroying ourselves and fighting to survive our hell. And the only way out is to listen to the voice that we hear- our conscience. Unfortunately, we're taught to fear it as insanity.

"Understanding that the balance was altered long ago from the ways of Montu-Sekhmet and his actions. And this forever effected every civilization and every generation of mankind, being that darkness is the stronger force. (Comparisons to modern day events, etc.)." ~Quoted from Symphony X's official website.
I'm quite interested in this song's meaning as, if you look at the world today, 'darkness' really is the regretably more powerful force.

Just read the epic poem "Paradise Lost" and it will make sense.
