Puedo Escribir Lyrics

Tonight I can write
The saddest lines
The saddest lines
Tonight I can write the saddest lines

it's one lonely night. perfect to be depressed and write about a girl. i'm guessing some one had a really bad break up. i like how leigh nash sings this song. very touching.

I don't quite remember where I read it, I'm betting it was IN the inside pages, but it was said this was really a poem put to song. It's loss, obviously. Maybe just a break-up, but the immensity of the meaning in the words suggests something more. Maybe death?

This is true.. It's based on the poem "Puedo Escribir" by Pablo Neruda. You can read it here http://www.cise.ufl.edu/~hsiao/verse/tonight.html (in English). I highly suggest anything else by Neruda as well.

Thank you belle1313 for giving us the context. Also, thanks not saying this song is about drugs. ;-)

Does this song need interpretation? It really is pure poetry :-)
