He isn't really mad, its a song about the common happening. When things get bad, and dark times hit, people blame God. And start asking why, why didn't you help me, why didn't you listen to me, why weren't you with me..... but Jesus was with you, and he was there for you and he felt your pain.
Quite honestly, this song is about feeling alone.
It's too easy -in the middle of this great, vast world- to get 'lost' in it. It's too easy to feel tiny and insignificant. And it's all too easy to feel like you're the only one. The only one that's following and loving the God that you remember changing your life.
But, you don't. feel changed anymore.
You just feel stuck and alone. You feel like God's left you behind, somewhere.
And, eventually, you realize that God didn't leave you behind, at all. He's much closer than you could have imagined. And, he was there the entire time.
Offering God 'everything' is a common promise. It shouldn't be. People usually don't know what they're promising. They're just singing along at some church convention. Offering God everything is not always a 'happy' thing. Often times, it's out of pain.
And that's what this song is, i think. "I'm sick and I'm weak and I'm tired, and I know I'm not worth all that much, God - I know I need you. So, you can have all of me, however much it's worth - just. take it."
This song is so good but i tihnk that the artist was mad with something- but really this song is just super sweet. we heard someone sing this live and it was so so good!
