I'm in love because I know you
And I'm sorry I don't show you
And if I find that you ain't by me
Afraid no one know the things you see

How could you believe in someone sorry-sad like me?
I know the deal and I thank you anyway
And if you leave, you know I'm crawlin' at your feet
You never get weak when I'm leanin' hard on you

[Chorus]
But I guess that's just the way you are
And I guess it's just the way you are
Well, I guess it's just the way you are
Well, I guess it's just the way you are

And all the things that you don't show me
Like when you pretend that you don't know me
I waste a dime and I can't call you
I spend a lifetime if I fall for you

How could you believe in someone sorry-sad like me?
I know the deal and I thank you anyway
And if you leave, you know I'm crawlin' at your feet
You never get weak when I'm leanin' hard on you

[Chorus]

Hold me up [Repeat: x4]

General Commentokay, let's see...i think it's about a relationship. (I'm in love because I know you / And I'm sorry I don't show you) He's in love with her because of who she is, but he doesn't really show her how he feels, and he's sorry for it. (And if I find that you ain't by me / I'm afraid no one will know the things you see) She sees something special in him that no one else seems to see, and he thinks that if she isn't with him, no one will ever see what she sees in him. (How could you believe in someone sorry and sad like me) He's doesn't have much self-confidence, and wonders why she believes in him. (And if you leave you know I'm crawlin' at your feet / You never get weak when I'm leaning hard on you) He depends on her alot, and she seems to be fine with it. She stays strong and comforts him, but if she ever left, he'd go after her. (And I guess that's just the way you are) He figures that she's a strong and confident person, and that's just the way she is. (And all the things that you don't show me) She keeps things inside too, but doesn't let him know because she doesn't want him to worry. (I waste a dime and I can't call you) He puts the money in the phone, and starts to dial her number, but stops because he doesn't want to depend on her too much. (I'll spend a lifetime if I fall for you) If he falls in love with her, he'd spend forever with her.

Well that's what I got from reading the lyrics, don't know if it's right or not!

= he thanks her for believing in him but its impossible for him to ever see the same inhimself as she does, as live4music said low self confidence! but i really love those lines. they mean alot to me !
