    General CommentA little prophetic song?
    Maybe.
I'm thinking yes, Al, for a few reasons. It's a little corny and like it or not, corny seems to be right up our alley. And it's about three--a trinity? and you always call me the baby so I guess that would be bratty old me. But it's a lively little fun song and let's face it--he thinks you're a creep. What did you do--wear my Tinkerbelle costume when you were inspiring it?
    How did you know?!
I didn't. Poor guy. Little did he know he had some strange brew for pod partners.
Madam, your sympathies are vastly unfounded. When he's been in my position, he's been much worse than I am.
But I don't remember this. In fact, I remember nothing. I have to take your word for all of this and you lie.
I'm shrugging. I told you before, kid--the great secrets of the universe--everyone lies and everyone picks their nose.
Yes, I do recall those pearls of wisdom, now that you mention it.
    Made you laugh ....

General CommentBut okay, prophesies flung to the side with wild abandon, this is really about his Trudie early days and my, they are passionate. His love is a flame that burns in her name. What wife could ask for more? The baby would be Mickey.

General Comment[Sting]: We'll Be Together (1987) is funny because it was written as a beer commercial for a Japanese company called Kirin. I like the idea of music being a craft, I'm not precious about it. They wanted a song and the only prerequisite was the word "together". I wrote the song in 3mins 49sec, which is exactly the length of the song. The Japanese loved it, and then the record company loved it too. "This is exactly what we need." "But I didn't invest anything in this song. I just put it together." They said: "No! It's a hit!" And it was (No 13 US, No 41 UK). It's probably the only straight rock track on the collection. Kirin is OK as a canned beer. It's not as good as Newcastle Exhibition. But then, what is?

General CommentThis is not a stalker song. That was Every Breath You Take. And he is on record as saying he can't understand why people think it's a romantic song.

But I view this song as a guy who is just completely infatuated with a girl. It's pretty much straightforward, not metaphorical, or allegorical, or sneaky.

And it is indeed one of his best songs.

Have you ever notice though, if you've followed his career, that is earliest songs with the Police were very repetitive? Message in a Bottle, Roxanne, Don't Stand Too Close To Me, just to name a few.

later on his songs did change and did have some repetition to them, but not quite like that, more like in strong structure, such as We'll Be together, Fields Of Gold, and Fortress Around Your Heart.

He is a very talented artist, nonetheless.
