Silvergun Superman Lyrics
Find you in the dark
Read you like a cheap surprise
Without shame
Sell me out and frame your name
I can hear when the pig whispers sweetly
Jealousy is the weapon, you kill me
Keep a dime for a truth you might tell
You towed the line
And I know it was mine
Couldn't hide, ride a wave, write a lie
Let me know
Can I, friend, ask you why?
Rolling back the days
With my friend I love to play
The little one
Superman with silver gun
I can hear when the pig whispers sweetly
Jealousy is the weapon, you kill me
Keep a dime for a truth you might tell
You towed the line
And I know it was mine
Couldn't hide, ride a wave, write a lie
Let me know
Can I, friend, ask you why?
Wait for me
Take a dive, take a piece of my life
(Leave me numb) wait for me
Tell a lie, try to take my life
(Leave me numb) wait for me
Take a dive, take a piece of my life
(Leave me numb) close to me
And I'll leave you numb
You towed the line
And I know it was mine
Couldn't hide, ride a wave, write a lie
Let me know
Can I, friend, ask you why?
You towed the line
And I know it was mine
Couldn't hide, ride a wave, write a lie

I'm no expert on STP, but didn't Eric Kretz play drums, while the DeLeo brothers played bass and guitar?
come on short bus riders.....really? you don't know what a silver gun is to heroin addict?...read it again....those who are clever should get this
This song is emblematic of Scott Weiland’s growing lyrical obsession with his heroin addiction. “Silver gun” is slang for a hypodermic needle, and being a “Silver Gun Superman” means that Weiland was particularly handy with a needle.
I think it may be about media journalists making stuff up about a famous person and ruining their lives for a bit of money, hence the "Take a dime, take a piece of my life". And maybe their jealous side being revealed could lead to their downfall, so they use it as a weapon against them
If not that then I agree with Cuevo's interpretation of jealousy.
actually dean deleo does do the drums at the end of the song, check out your purple booklet
Yeah, to me it seems as though this song is about jealousy and how it ruined a friendship. There may have been some backstabbing as well.
yeah man read my comment below this shit is soooo about robert deleo man

This song is about jealousy. A friendship gone sour b/c of jealousy. It tells how envy and coveting can come between a friendship and tear it apart.
I don't know anything about STP, but this track has been stuck in my head for a week now. To me it sounds like a relationship gone sour, but with a child envolved. For some reason i just see oblique references to a custody battle.
