Fear (of the Unknown) Lyrics

I get the feeling -- I'm not alone
I get the feeling -- it's someone I don't know
Do you ever have the strange sensation
when you're standing mighty tall
to jump from 17 floors and crash into freefall

but then fear takes control -- fear of the unknown

Imagine two complete strangers
who suspect they were meant to be
both in need of love and affection
yet their suspicions prevent something heavenly

Fear takes control -- fear of the unknown

Aware of what will hurt you
you're prepared to remain this way
so sad yet safe with your afflictions
afraid to start a brand new day

We all get the strangest feeling
when we're standing mighty tall
to jump from 17 floors and crash into freefall

but then fear carries all -- fear of the unknown
fear takes its toll -- fear of the unknown

Aware of what will hurt you
you're prepared to remain this way
so sad yet safe with your afflictions
afraid to start a brand new day

I'm sorry, this is a crap song. Siouxsie kinda shit the bed with most of this album.

@11thomas11 At first I was like, rude! when I read this comment, but I just listened to the song and now I'm like, true!

First off, I like this album and like this song. It's very experimental from them.

I think, however, my particular love for this song comes from the very intimate kiss siouxsie shares with another woman in the music video, which at the time was unheard of. The video became banned from MTV cause of it. It made me actually resonate with the song more. As a queer woman myself who has had to hide that part of me first

Second worst siouxsie song. But I'm sure it was worth the money.

its about people too afraid to take the leap forward to full confidence and believe in themselves, and it is a terrible song/album, little sister was a nice song though.

I agree with others who said this song crap. Sounds like it took all of 3 minutes to write it.
