Face To Face Lyrics
Face to face
my lovely foe
Mouth to mouth
raining heaven's blows
Hand on heart
tic tac toe
Under the stars
naked as we flow
Cheek to cheek
the bitter sweet
Commit your crime in your deadly time
Commit your crime in your deadly time
It's too divine
I want to bend
I want this bliss but something says I must resist
Another life
another time
We're Siamese twins writhing intertwined
Face to face
no telling lies
The masks they slide to reveal a new disguise
You never can win
it's the state I'm in
This danger thrills and my conflict kills
They say follow your heart
follow it through
But how can you
when you're split in two?
And you'll never know
You'll never know
One more kiss
before we die
Face to face
and dream of flying
Who are you?
who am I?
Wind in wings
two angels falling
To die like this
with a last kiss
It's falsehood's flame
it's a crying shame
Face to face
the passions breathe
I hate to stay but then I hate to leave
And you'll never know
You'll never know . . .
my lovely foe
Mouth to mouth
raining heaven's blows
Hand on heart

Under the stars

This song totally rocks! It was featured in BATMAN RETURNS, and it plays when Selena Kyle (Catwoman) is dancing with Bruce Wayne (Batman) are dancing at a party. By a mere slip of the tongue - on each person's part, they reveal to eachother that they are Batman and Catwoman.
I think it's a song about a person who leads a double life and finds that it interferes with their romantic affairs.
I think this song tells about two people who are meant for each other and all the lives they have lived together. It seems that no matter how many chances they get to be together and to be happy something always goes wrong...Hmm...I am really bad at inturpreting songs...
This is about Batman and Catwoman. It highlights their story perfectly, atleast the one explored in Batman Returns. SatB worked with Danny Elfman on this, the man who composes the score for all of Burton's films, including Batman Returns. You can hear a cuopla of extracts from his score in this song.
THIS IS MY FAVORITE SIOUXSIE SONG!! It has this cool eerie sounding tone to it. I think this song is about 2 lovers/soul mates having a difficult time because they havent found their own personal identity. And the girl wants to stay with the guy, but she knows the right thing to do is to leave. But i guess in the end, lust gets the best of her.
dude, i love it when siouxsie purrs, it's so damn cute! plus this is the most awsome song EVER! ... by siouxsie
it's not: But how can you when you're split in two?
But it's: But how can you when it's split in two?

Also check Siamese Twins by The Cure for a more gothic version of a similar subject matter. I'm not sure which was written first but Robert Smith joined the Banshees for an album before rejoining The Cure in about 1983. The Cure sing about how short lived and ephemeral sex really is. Siouxsie may have a similar meaning hidden in here as well but hers is more ethereally romantic.
of course it was written about batman and catwoman and the warped romance they have as their "alter egos", because Danny Elfman is credited as helping write the song. obviously it was written for the film
Isn't this song for Batman?
When I first heard this song i though of Romeo and Juliet, because of the "one more kiss before we die" part, but i dont know if thats right. i guess the batman and catwoman thing works too.
