To me it's about getting emotionally involved with someone and then finding there are many things that you don't agree on.

Romance is a risk (You lay your bets and then you pay the price). It can become an on again-off again relationship (You think you're gonna break up, then she says she wants to make up). The solution is to realise there are differences and accepting each other for who they are (A compromise would surely help the situation. Agree to disagree but disagree to part). It's about compromise for the sake of love.

It's about a woman whose appearance makes him pursue her. She probably has a way of talking, and I bet she has a captivating smile. Just to get her, he's doing things he wouldn't usually do and doesn't enjoy. He's successful eventually ... only to find out that she drives him nuts. Probably nagging and bossing him around, having him crawling up the walls. They argue so badly that he suggests a break up. But to his big surprise, she manages to change his mind by just telling him she would like to be with him. She made him love her, she's having her way ...

Wow this song was released in 1976 I'm 33 so I would have been 5 when it was on the radio for some reason I can remembr this song!!!! CLEARLY!! Cool song!!!
