Who can't relate to these lyrics? Classic song. He's saying all these things aren't an issue but they really are and that's why they broke up. This girl has serious ISSUES! She thinks she's bad ass but she isn't! Make her realize what she is gonna be missing when you're gone.
I think that this song about a relationship, which is driven apart by one underlying problem. Thinking about(seeing)someone else is just a an after effect of an unstable relationship. It is not "the issue" itself.

Great song I love the richness of the music. Is it me or do all of songs on AM seem to refrence the Uncle Tupelo break up?
Or this could be about a guy who is in denial and doesn't wanna believe all these things he suspects about his girlfriend/spouse. Who knows?
