I think rumpleteaser is right about the transcription of, "into my head it goes," to, "until my headache goes."
As for sweet pea's question, I would think he is refering to pain medication, and the blind love is the relief of an invisible annoyance. Just a guess. |

I heard this song last night while at a party. I would have written about it instantly had I not been too drunk to see which letters were which on the keyboard. I instantly fell in love with this song upon hearing it. I must have seen the film "Silence of the Lambs" two dozen times by now and have always wondered who sang this song. It's perfectly fitting for the scene in the movie and wonderfully touching for any day occasion. I wish there were more out by this artist. |

this track receives a lot of criticism, much of which i feel is biased. as mrlongrove mentions, it sounds quite similar to "cars" and i believe that misguides people into thinking this is simply a side track or added tune that is leeching off of the other track's hip sound. whatever the case may be, this short song is catchy and captivating. i could listen to him slur out the first two stanzas of the lyrics over and over again and never grow tired of it. |

this is my favorite song off spiderland. it definitely implies death: "dust and the memories...from the shoes on my feet." implying that he intends turning into ashes and never return, hence the memories. also, the same point that cherub rock made about leaving this life, but possibly meeting in an afterlife.
however, i don't want to believe that the song is about suicide since he obviously has a strong love and sees himself as a protector to the girl. his lyrics imply that she loves him deeply. i don't understand why he would want to break that bond by killing himself. |

this song forces the impending doom of reminder to one of my worst relationships. however, it also keys in the tune of knowing that relationships are hard as hell. there are going to be a lot of mistakes, anger, and frustration. but it comes down to one thing, you wouldn't be angry if you didn't care... you just need to control that misdirected agression. |

i feel kind of sad that devo became so wrapped up in their "whip it" hit. they had such an outstanding sound. some of their rarer songs or old recordings simply mopped the floor with their newer stuff. |
