i personally think this has to do with someone that daryl cares about, but they won't convey the same caring back to him. i mean, when he says "don't say i don't cut when i do" is the person denying his influence on them, but he knows that they are just lying. the person is being bombarded with other people trying to get their attention, but he is still the one who 'cuts' the deepest. in the other person's heart, they know that he is the one they should be with, and he just wants they to stop bullshitting and admit it.
that is just my interpretation, maybe it'll make sense to other people too. |

i think this song is about jim finally accepting his past, namely ATDI. to kinda channel the review from alternative press, jim doesn't do a lot of finger pointing with this album, but a lot more welcoming. if i had to pin this song to be on one thing, it's him coming to terms with being in at the drive-in and their nasty break up. this album grew on me so much, i love it more than wiretap scars. |

i always thought the song was about geoff's own experiences with love. when he's in love with someone, he loses his identity and the two of them become one person, dependant on each other without realizing this til after the fact, when he's writing the song. hope that makes sense. |

i think this song has a lot to do with matt pryor seeing ryan (the bassists) marriage fall apart. matt said in AP that he's at a great point in his life, so a lot of the songs on the album are about ryan's marriage ending. i think this song is a more "pick me up" type vibe, saying that even if his girl left him, ryan has still got all of his friends. |
