the only girl that layne ever loved was his one true love, DEMRI. demri was also a drug addict, and laynes dream was for them to kick the habit and get maried one day, but sadly enough demri passed and laynes only love was gone. i think layne blamed himself somewhat, and i think this song is about demri and how he couldnt save her. |

i think the unplugged version is 1000 times better, especially in the begining with the "aaahh aah aah ooww, ahh ya". and i think its about people seeing him for drugs and how it is so obvious sometimes that drugs are the only reason that these perople were around. |

actually everyone, when laynewasa child, he made little sculptures. he madea mall child(layne) sitting in a chair. the song is bout how he sees this self sculpture, but instead of seeing good little layne, now he sees how hes grown up and how heroin is ruining his life. thats why he sees himself across the way, lol. and its obviously about drug adiction because even though hes saying howit ade him alone and angry, he still doesnt mindbecause hes truly not helping himself stop in anyway. the love/hate relationship w/ drug addiction. anyone whos not a drug addict or an addict in some way will never fully understand alice in chains. |
