dont see what the problem with airplay is. i hope they get more airplay. their a great band and the more people hear their music the better. aslong as it doesnt change the music or its message, then whats the problem? would be great if a band who refused to sell any merchandise became one of the biggest bands in the country. best way to get their message across. |

apently they cut holes into the amplifier to get tht muddy sounding effect on the guitar. as lola sed, basis for later heavy metal groups, the power chords from this song were frequently used in metal, aswell as mental solos like the 1 in "you really got me"... |

The whole idea of one thing going forwards while another goes backwards is also shown in johnnys guitar solo. It plays it once, then suddenly does it again backwards all the way back up...just an idea... |

its clearly abot matts hate of turkeys. his aunt bessie used to force him to eat turkey every xmas. so he covered it in alchole to cover the taste. the "Royal Canadian blended
The spicy aroma had mended me" refers to his dad who was a mountie and used to bring back cheap whiskey for him from canada. |

dont see how u can call them "pop-punk". The ramones were the first mainstream punk band, pop-punk wasnt reconised untill the undertones came around. just because its not all heavy distortion, doesnt mean its not punk. |

sorry Teen Spirit, but how can you say Asaghon is narrow minded just because he doesnt like Blink 182 or any other pop-punk? Yeh, Kurt said how this was a rip of/homage of the pixies "gouge away". and the main riff sounds almost exactly the same as from another pixies song. not to say he copied. just a...coiencidence. maybe.
KurtIsKing - Grunge isnt a type of music, its a music scene, so they wernt. the whole "grunge" thing caught on because of mass media coverage on bands such as alice in chains, soundgarden and nirvana, who all came from seattle around the sound time. And yeh, beatles were a boy band, but a great one. |

just to put something straight...Grunge is not a music type. Grunge was the early 90s seattle music scene. so yeh, Nirvana came from the grunge scene, but they were a punk band. so what if they sound different to other punk bands? try comparing the clash to Thursday, completly differnt, but still both punk. so - Nirvana was a punk band, fro the Grunge music scene. dont particualry like nirvana, but gota thank kurt for bringing the pixies to my attention. good stuff... |

connected to the george orwell book, "1984" zak is a big fan of it. the "protect it with fire" relates to the way information is kept from the people in the book - everything the "party" doesnt want known, is burned. |

guessin its about world war 2.
- "trying to clout these little ingrates into shape
when I was their age all the lights went out
there was no time to whine and mope about" -
is a drill instructor from world war 1(?) havin a go at this "new generation"
2nd verse, mentions dresden, dresden was virtualy wiped out by British bombers in the war. +he regrets it
3rd verse, sorta straightforward...
4th sums it all up. no winners in war, +hes saddend by the crowds of cheering people who think its a victory. |
