Janis Joplin – Amazing Grace Lyrics 19 years ago
This song was written by a slave trader. He was on a boat during a really bad storm and had a conversion while on the boat. He realized that he needed to change his life around and so he did. "That saved a wretch like me." He once was lost but then was found, was blind but now he sees. Grace taught his heart to fear, but at the same time it also lifted his fears. And how precious did that grace finally appear the hour that he first believed. "We've no less days to sing God's praise than when we first begun."

Nickel Creek – out of the woods Lyrics 19 years ago
This song is so deep! I can only get a small tip of what it could possibly mean. Again, it comes out of wanting the best for someone else. And if you think about how happy you want someone to be, then you might as well just dream about it because the happiness, if taken literally, is too far out of reality. But it can exist in a dream, with the enchantedness and celestiality of which you could only dream. "Time out of mind must be heavenly" so s/he, in your mind, are experiencing the fantastic point at which time stands still, so s/he can come out of the question and become him/herself with you there to see.

Nickel Creek – Sweet Afton Lyrics 19 years ago
"Sweet Afton" is a poem by Robert Burns, who often writes about nature and entangles it very beautifully with a love story. This is a prime and wonderful example of his writings. To me, Afton (the river) is like life, with bends and surrounded by its high and low parts of the landscape (being the ups and downs of life). Mary is the love part of the story, sleeping in her elegance as life passes by, with her feet barely in life itself. And as she is dreaming, the stream only murmurs so she can be imaginative in what she hopes her life can be like.

Jesus said, "I will never leave you, I'll never forsake you." He'll always be there, through the good times and the bad.

Billy Joel – And So It Goes Lyrics 19 years ago
I heard this song from the mixed honor choir in Alabama and just cried my heart out. I am a very quiet person and have experienced good and bad things because of it. It is hard to know when to stay quiet and when to express your love or gratitude. Love the love. And dont be afraid.

Garth Brooks – The Dance Lyrics 19 years ago
Many people miss out on the glorious and most fun parts of life because they dwell on the fear of getting hurt. It is much better to take chances in life and make life's mistakes so you can better enjoy the good things. If I could look back and pick what I would change, I might change some of the choices that I've made. But I'm glad that we can't do that because we wouldn't experience the fun in chance.

Garth Brooks – The Storm Lyrics 19 years ago
This is about a girl who endured some type of love trauma and has it bottled up inside her so deeply that it's tearing up her insides. When you have a problem, it's important to be able to express yourself and your problems to others. Don't let the storm roll inside of you without having a place to be sheltered and nurtured.

Nickel Creek – The Lighthouse's Tale Lyrics 19 years ago
This song to me means that we all need to value our relationships. I cry many times when I hear it thinking about all the things I would have liked to say to her if I knew what was going to happen. The lighthouse is like God because it's a divine perspective and He feels our pain and wants to comfort us if we would only listen.

Nickel Creek – When You Come Back Down Lyrics 19 years ago
I think this song can have many different meanings, but the one that hits home the most for me is that sometimes what you think is best isn't best. God will choose your path and it is your job to be there and support the dreams that He has for you.
