Very surprised to see no one bothering to ruminate on the lyrics of this song Paraguay by Mr Osterberg? The narrative is part dictum and part lyrical manifesto. Sure, James puts on a mask just to become Iggy, so writing prose in the voice of someone other than Iggy Pop wouldn't be new, but knowing that the aging raging punk rocker is both over 70 and has retired to Florida, I think these word are his true sentiments......and as often has been the case, even tho I'm 20 years younger and will never have the means nor the desire to retire or be near Florida, I find myself agreeing with Iggy Pop. | Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds – Accidents Will Happen Lyrics

Wow, hadn't ever heard this song before I don't think and I'm Nick Cave fan. Have had lots of his albums on repeat throughout my life, but the only time the title Acciedents Will Happen comes across my device, is when it's E.Costello. But the opening stanza of this song is quite strong. In the usual Nick Cave way, it is Understated Ass Kickery. Slower and almost with a clenched jaw, he begins this track and gives a shout out to the year of my birth. I assure you, it's was no good star to be born under and I doubt Cave is singing much about that at all, but what he is singing about is just exactly what I'd like to see happen to this beat-cop patrolman pig my ex-gf left me for once. It's alright, when the revolution comes, it will be coming to his house first. |

Yeah, but on the album here in the states and on Amazon just titled JARVIS (2020 COMPLETE EDITION) this song has an introductory passage of some narrative text being read by what sounds like the author of said text in a southern accent, Eudora Welty sounding, but I don't have the time to look it up. Anybody know who or what this is? Though maybe heard again in the song, IDT the theme is touched on again directly. What slash who the hell is this? |

Pasting Cold Leeches is the, and I am imagining it occurring in a pitch black room early 1980s Los Angels, but the feeling of an alcohol prep-pad being swabbed across the crook of your forearm might be interpreted as a cold leech. That's what we think anyways. However, I've only been a junkie since 1994 and not a skinny white Jon Doe in a dark room, 1981. Or did Exene write this one? Either way dude, with a degree of certainty I surely wish I didnt have, its evaporated alcohol from a prep-pad that is cold wet and leech like. In a dark room. In 1981. See that, years later and you still get an answer. |
