In Northern England, our kid is often a reference to a sibling, or niece or nephew, or even a son or daughter. It means a family member who is young or a young adult. |

Hedonistic, decadent, seventies lifestyle. I worked in a mental health hospital and never thought it was about that. Hardly champagne living for the patients! |

Richard Marx – Hazard Lyrics

@[PJRabbitoh:40086] .if he was guilty he would not have written it for the public to hear. I really think he is referring to crime which always targets the odd guy in town as the offender, when usually someone no one thinks of .. the normal guy next door is the guilty one |

OK, it seems the couple had a tempestuous relationship. She has told someone, either a mother or friend, that she will break with the guy and he suspects, she has had this conversation. He is trying to persuade her to stay. |

@[Acey_Dearest:40056] ..I have thought that because those were crazy times and girls who followed bands, slept with each other for the heck of it. I also thought the girl had a prior conversation and was told not to go with the guy for whatever reasons. It could even be a reference to the girl\'s mother |

@[SharpieJojo:39524] ..I heard it is about George's great love Kristna and he used she rather than he because he did not want rude gay comments. He really loved his spiritual path. It was everything to him. |

It is about war atrocities. Do you seriously think the Stones still alive in their late seventies were so stupid as to wreck their highly successful lives with continual drug use? |

I think divorce was a pretty horrible word in the sixties, and people as a rule got married and this is about a marriage breaking up. They did not live together. |

@[hannielebed:36711] .. well I find. church people far more caring than alot of other people. I think the song is about the loneliness of humans full stop. Not sure why we are expected to be the bastions, but it is christians who run the soup kitchen etc. |

@[Bickle:36710] I always thought it was about someone who others perceived as strange in their community in Liverpool and there was more to the person than others believed, someone they viewed as mentally challenged. In the sixties there was a lot less sensitivity around describing the mentally disabled. I also think this song was written before the hippie stuff. |

She is saying that, bottom line women survive because they carry children, she wrote this at the height of feminist fervour in the seventies. We of course were busy kicking against the system which held us back. The best message is she is saying do not worry to much about men. |
