Due excuse some of the errors in the lyrics submitted. I got them from a video that just approximated some of the lyrics from what a computer most likely picked them up as. In time, I will try to correct some of the lyrics.

Life Cycles โ€“ Death From Above Lyrics 6 months ago
Given the most straightforward lyrics for a relatively short song, I immediately thought about the idea of a soldier/marine (of no particular country or faction) traversing the battlefield, only to be confronted with the air superiority of the enemy, hence the title "Death From Above". I imagine that at some point early on in the song, the trooper was the last one of his detail to survive the first wave of the aerial attack, hence why he describes himself being alone, "soaked in blood".

However, a secondary perspective would be how those who got caught, but survived the blast from a nuclear bomb would feel, with everyone next to them having died, or even been vaporized. This interpretation would make this description applicable to not only military members, but also to those unfortunate enough to be civilians affected by the blast.

A more remotely related viewpoint would be to take the lyrics as metaphors for the protagonist's feelings of isolation and dread, hoping that his savior would come from some sort of divinity, only to be let down by their ambivalence, or even their malevolent nature, leaving the protagonist to die or suffer a horrible existence.

CoCo Lee โ€“ Belly Dance Lyrics 1 year ago
So there's a couple meanings (possibly even a double entendre) that can be derived from this song. The primary meaning is the most straightforward explanation of Coco Lee, or any woman who this song spotlights, taking up a belly dance performance to entice the man they are pining after, hoping to seduce the man with the very feminine and erotic dance style of belly dance. This is obviously due to the fact that belly dance naturally has an alluring effect on men due to many of its dance moves drawing emphasis on a female's breasts, hips, buttocks, and belly, often times having these various body parts shaking and undulating in an often times teasing manner. In fact, some men would actually prefer a belly dance performance from a woman over a more conventional strip tease or pole dance, depending on their tastes.

Then there's the less obvious meaning, in which, upon closer examination of the lyrics, the "belly dance" may actually be referring to the way a woman's belly "dances" during sex with an attractive man; his thrusting of his hips sending powerful waves through a woman's body that it causes her belly to jiggle and undulate, as if she were belly dancing. In other words, the belly dance refers to the act of a woman submitting to a man during sex; this explanation being supported by the line "Play your cards right and you could get the chance to see my belly dance", meaning that if a man presses the right buttons for a woman, he will see her belly jiggle as he bangs her.

Another line that supports this theory comes from the part "You like the way I shake it up for ya.
You like the way I wake it up for ya.
See my belly dance
See my belly dance"; the way she "wakes it up for ya" might refer to the way a woman's belly dance would "wake up" a man's penis into an erection [obviously needed for sex]. Regardless of precise analysis of the lyrics, the song is sexually charged and primarily oriented towards male and female intimacy.

Lil Uzi Vert โ€“ Belly Lyrics 7 years ago
Just a crack at this, but I think "Belly" is simply a track that serves as somewhat of a testament to Uzi's "dominance" over his own life.

The opening lines "I'm from the beast of the belly", along with the track's intro including sound clips from the movie Belly, are not only a means of alluding to an inspiring and relative 1998 work, but also as a statement that asserts Uzi's toughness from surviving and living within a harsh environment.

Uzi goes on to describe his "main bitch and side bitch", which would be as a means of not only referencing more of the movie Belly, but also how he himself is so in control that he can have multiple sexual partners, which is typical of an "alpha male". Another alpha trait is how rich he claims to be, evident in his line "got all this bread like a deli" [bread = $$].

He goes on to describe "fuck[ing] your bitch with no condom... now you take care of my family", which entails a two-fold meaning. Uzi is so confident with his control over both women and his own life that he feels no need to wear a condom, while others would so as to protect themselves from the onset of sexually transmitted diseases or unwanted pregnancies. The other meaning of this lyric is to describe his callousness in cuckholding another man to the point of having other men raising his bastard children after impregnating their significant others, which is also said to be a trait of a dominant man, or "bull".

Uzi goes on to the lyric "I beat it, I feel like I'm Danny..." which is a shoutout to welterweight boxer Danny "Swift" Garcia. With "it" being earlier referenced as a woman's vagina, this lyrics is meant to describe Uzi's feeling of being like a famous boxing hitting something/someone whenever he is "hitting the pussy", thus emphasizing more of Uzi's self-proclaimed masculinity.

After more lyrics of essentially bragging about his material possession, with lines such as "you look at my chain, now it's snowin'" and "I rock Visvim, this ain't Jordan...", Uzi then makes another assertion regarding his status as a "bonafide" thug, even going so far as to compare himself to the late hip-hop pioneer 2pac with the lyric "bandanna tied, feel like I'm 2pac...".

With the hooks and chorus sections revolving around the same repetitions of having multiple sexual partners and "hanging with killers and robbers", Lil Uzi does a thorough job of making certain the listener is aware of his perception of his life being easily-comparable to the characters of widely-acclaimed motion picture, Belly. However, it ultimately ensures that his audience is also regarding his own awareness to his own life being too difficult for weaker men, while being almost ideal for a "man's man" of such dominant character such as himself.

Metallica โ€“ Hardwired Lyrics 9 years ago
Just heard the song, and as awesome as the song is, I am just taking a stab at this one. This is my first attempt at interpreting a song, so it might be completely wrong.

I think this song is about the 2016 election year in America, and how most (if not all) the candidates represent [or at least perceived to be] a great danger to the world.

"In the name of desperation... in the name of wretched pain...." speaks about how the parties of the U.S. dislike the current direction America is headed and, out of desperation to get out of the current "pain" they feel, seek some type of resolution. Whether you're a conservative who dislikes the way people are becoming too P.C., or if you're a liberal who believes America is structurally flawed, this line speaks to you.

"We're so fucked, shit out of luck" means how the current candidates (in the most unbiased lens) are not fit to preside over the United States, hence the way Americans are basically screwed no matter who wins.

Meanwhile, the titular line "hardwired to self destruct" could be the way our political system is flawed to begin with, allowing the presidential predicament to occur in the first place; the major example of the current topic being how, in California, the presidential primary should have gone to Bernie Sanders, but was supposedly rigged in Hillary Clinton's favor. This sentiment is also echoed in [what I believe to be the actual] line "doom design", rather than "do design".

"On the way to paranoia... crooked borderlines" is about how the American people are paranoid about the way in which the United States is going to hell, whether it be in the form of mass shootings, Islamic extremism, open borders (hence "borderlines"), police brutality, racism, or class warfare; this may contribute to the following line "on the way to great destroyer", symbolizing Americans resorting to electing the great destroyer as president.

The last verse "once upon a planet burning.... once upon a spirit turning all in vain..." could be a reference to how America was once one of Britain's colonies, which dominated the entire planet, symbolizing how the earth was burning under a [British] flame. The spirit that's turning in vain is how the founding fathers of America would be ashamed at what they had fought for if they realized that the U.S. was about to basically fall under a new tyranny.

With the last lines about hope actually being straightforward from that point, I conclude my very first interpretation. Once again, it could totally be false, but I like to think I wasn't the only one who was thinking this when I first heard this song. Whatever the meaning is, I'm glad to Metallica going back to their thrash roots! \m/
