There's an Aurora, Illinois (I know this because of Wayne's World ironically). Could revolve around a friend that died in a car accident while Matt was driving due to the car's failure (You won't catch me behind the wheel of a Chrystler ever again) or that he caused the accident by being drunk which is more reasonable, considering he's been blaming himself this whole time and it's been consuming him so he makes a desperate attempt to blame anything and everything else. |

I just see this song about a teenage boy evolving into adulthood, kind of saying goodbye to his past (the world you love) and thinking it's all going to be uphill, he stays with his new friends and makes a new life. Then he misses his family and his past and realizes this new world isn't as amazing as he thought... but he's stuck with it. |
