I have to disagree with you on your impression of the whole album though: Although I think it's not as awesome as Lungs and Ceremonials, it quite grew on me. |

To be honest, this is my least favourite song of the new album. In my opinion it starts alright but the bridge and chorus are a bit average. Feels kind of like the black sheep on the album, like the song isn't finished. But maybe it'll grow |

I think it's about drug addiction and love, a couple who are both addicted and try to get away from it
OR
it's describing the lure of drugs, the (false) promise that it's the only thing that's gonna make him feel better |

I don't always want to bring that up but maybe this is about Alison Mosshart, the singer of The Dead Weather (I know, I know, but it would be kind of cool, wouldn't it?). He is saying that
It's such a blessing to sing with you together
Making love when there is nobody home
singing together is obvious and "when there is nobody home" hints at some kind of secret affair. Alison seems like the kind of person with whom it is hard to have a relationship with, maybe this song is saying that they are dancing around each other. They sometimes seem kind of cosy on stage, then again with the pushing and stuff, maybe it goes kind of back and forth with them. Just an idea.
One of the best songs on the new album, in my opinion. But who am I kidding, they are all awesome. |
