So... she wrote this song because a woman of her family has alzheimer... Really sad song. "It's not fair/ I'm talking to You upstairs/ Are you there?/ You know I care/ So please don't tell me that this is an empty prayer" It think she's praying to God, but she thinks He isn't even listening to her. "'Cause all she has and all she's lost/ I wish she could remember/ I watch her fade and slip away/ It's hurting more than ever" She's worried because she knows this woman is suffering and slowly dying. "I miss her even though she's still here" This woman's still alive, but Jessie misses the way she was before having alzheimer. "You need to listen/ Don't let her disappear" She's begging to God that this women won't forget everything. "I'll give her my forever/ If it meant for a day she could really be okay/ 'Cause I miss her/ Even though she's still here" She would give her whole life just to see this woman's alright just for one day. "Is this pretend?/ Will she really not know my face?" She wonders if this woman is pretending or if she actually can't remember Jessie. "If You're a friend/ Show me how to heal it when she can't even feel it/ Please... show me" She asks God for a cure... The woman doesn't even know she's ill. "And promise me this/ When she goes/ Everything she sees will set her free/ Thirteen and the colour green" This is the only part of the song which I don't understand... Maybe 13 is the woman's favourite number and green is her favourite colour. "Promise me this/ That she knows/ That the people that she loves/ Will love her in the skies above" Jessie wants God to promise her that when the woman dies, she'll know that her family and friends love her, even though she can't remember anyone. |

| I think this song is about an ex-boyfriend who she still loves. It was a long distance relationship that ended because the boy "gave up on them in the end" (because of the distance). The whole chorus are the "words I (she) wished you (he) said". | |
