| Richard Clapton – Girls on the Avenue Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| Dick Clap was interviewed on radio (or was it Spicks and Specks) about the lyrics of Girls on The Avenue. He said that he was living in a house in The Avenue at Rose Bay, in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney. He'd walk past another house that was occupied by a group of young women who used to bother him. You know, "Hiiiiiiiiiiii, why don't you come in for a coffee" etc. He assured we listeners that the song was not about the Cross or Darlo, or maybe even Premier Lane. He may well have been living in The Avenue, but we Aussies are good bullshit artists so I don't know what to believe. | |
