Katatonia – Deliberation Lyrics 2 years ago
The song itself is an incantation. It's written as a means to faster manifest those needed in the red circle to give the entity new downloads.
It also has a prayer for new words as freedom is found by questioning the words.
I am clear I am cold. Let the rich meet death. Talks of the middle way, to not punish those in power but to let the universe do it's justice and lead them to eventual death. My mouth remains inactive is in reference to the sleeping listener this song was written for. LET the words come slow. The song is teaching you what an incantation is. The deliberation is what each entity must carefully consider and decide before they can be reborn. It's a curiosity and hunger to understand the simple questions about words they didn't know before. That was the track title because it was chosen to hasten the listeners transition towards the deliberation of truth. "All you can do is show them the door, it's up to them to walk through". The red circle is where one meets those important entities who we have karmic ties to. It is required for our awakening.

Katatonia – Ghost Of The Sun Lyrics 2 years ago
The sun is an entity that has inherited through sacrifice the responsibility of leading a planet into the next transition phase. There can only be one such entity for a planet. Our courts are a poor Machine replication of this natural law system. Suffice to say there can only be one judge. Jonas has seen prophetic visions/dreams of Jesus. Jesus is the sun/son. He knows in his heart the end is near as he was granted those cosmic downloads. He can't undo the way he perceives reality anymore, as he is in service to others now that he is reborn he no longer seeks social acceptance. He feels that great cold distance between himself and his slave brother. This is what viva emptiness is about. It's about the current incarnation/world state spiritually. Vast majority are living a lie empty and devoid of soul hence the "out there marketing my soul" reference to his old self. Now he sees the lie all around him. He feels let down by his fellow human beings that he once trusted. This song is beautiful because it speaks of how he can't undo the visions he saw that have opened up his heart to god and made him willing to pay the price of loniless to walk the straight and narrow path.

Transcience – The Pine Bluff Variant Lyrics 3 years ago
First we have to look at the song meaning: Pine bluff: In favor of large, intrusive government that violates or suppresses individual rights. Characterized by a "law and order" approach; failing to support civil liberties and/or economic freedom in society;

The title is variant because they are all variations of the same. That's why it ends with do you believe in me? A reoccurring line in this. For politicians are suppose to be there because they believe in the people. But the reality is they don't believe in people they are too suspicious of everything to believe in it without hard facts. Or else they would not be politicians. It's essentially saying that the entire political system is flawed. Ultimately the delivery is what makes this song great as it unveils the hypocritical nature of the politics of every government. Too cowardly to face us for a discussion and make it known they oppose a different side (both left and right) because of fear of how the people would react were the intentions so obviously telegraphed. And also because how they behave sets the precedent for how people are allowed to behave/communicate.

The last lines are beautiful because they ask the most important question. Do you believe in me? It's a rhetorical question because the economy and policy is created to widen the gap between the rich and the poor. The reason they allow this is because the rich pay them to. That's how and why all governments oppress the people. Because most politicians who attain power put themselves first. It's why the entire political system was built on poor foundations. Because people who are voted into power are the foundation, if most people only care about themselves as they put themselves first than how can you expect anything other than a pine bluff variant. That's basically the problem. Not the government but the people voted into positions of power. By voting them out we don't fix the problem. The whole human race would need to evolve for a new government system to work. One ruled by someone who can rule fairly and righteously in service to all others on the planet over themselves.

Transcience – Peoples Temple Lyrics 3 years ago
This is about the deception of the Aztec civilization and about how in the end they paid the price for their wickedness. But it makes connections to similar false messiahs who preach idol worship which is basically linked to worship of the god Molech. It ends with "take them away, all the words you say".
This is an expression of hope that god will remove the words of blasphemy as he removed the Aztecs.
This can only happen by burning the impurities in the soul (eternal fire) as these words come from the heart and the heart is an expression of the soul. That's why the soul is being killed by being thrown into hellfire. It's not literal death it's symbolic death. So that a new soul can emerge for the transition from 3rd to 4th dimension.

Incubus – When It Comes Lyrics 3 years ago
This one is about programming. For those that read into why LSD was legalized and then why it was criminalized you would understand what media programming is all about. Trying to get you to conform to fear, anger, sorrow.
It's the news, you are being fed. They want to provoke you into making decisions based on your external environment which you only make when your energy is low and you are in a susceptible state. This comes back to chakras and heart coherence as well as spiritually awakening to overcome the negative influence of the external environment/prison. It's very much linked to the theme of other songs. The only way you can prevent yourself from reacting and instead respond consciously is by allowing the heart to lead the mind and by waking up spiritually. Once this is achieved a strong energy must be maintained. Which can be acquired through meditation each day, good food and sufficient sleep.

Incubus – Privilege Lyrics 3 years ago
This song is actually super cryptic. It's a double metaphor.

Basically it's about how there is a better way for us to do things and how we have been forced into the worse way by the system we are too unaware of to even deny after our birth. The second part to the meaning is that our undeveloped minds enslave us to the hazard of limitations and incoherence until we figure out the better way of doing things. These two principles are fractals for the many different things we have to overcome in order to break free from the inner prison so that we can attain the consciousness and enlightenment required to understand that there is a better way we can go which is the path of freedom. You can't find that path unless you first realize that there is a prison inside the mind that makes us all prisoners to thoughts we must leave behind. This is what the lines and dragging your feet symbolize. The slower path to where we are all moving towards and also serving time like a prisoner for something you could have avoided.

The hook line has got to be the all time greatest hook line in a song ever written in history. Because the truth bomb is so unbelievably profound. Only those who understand the freedom we have that we quickly relinquish from birth know what I'm talking about. In my opinion this is the best written song of incubus lyrics wise. A master piece along with nice to know you. Off their best album make yourself. And this is the first track for a good reason. It essentially summaries the theme of every other track on the album. They are all different hindrances that this system makes us go through which we have the privilege from birth to change and turn from a curse/hindrance into a blessing/power. Why? Because authority is our privileged. Authority over so many things people are unaware they have authority to control because they are unaware they are prisoners to it. They don't know there is a backdoor to avoid the line hehe.

Incubus – The Warmth Lyrics 3 years ago
@[TheProfitSong:35616] The last lines left out say "where did it go?" he's basically asking us to reflect why listening to this made us forget about how cold people are. Like my other incubus analysis this one can be an amazing tool for those who have the FAITH.

Incubus – The Warmth Lyrics 3 years ago
Everyone missed the mark on this song yet it's so simple.
It's about making the most of this life and moving towards the good experiences while you are still young. Seeing the warmth in the cold basically. That's why the cold wind blows on the highest high rise today. He see's it's getting colder the higher we climb in this final time before our transition into the next phase. He's reminding us to not forget there are still good people out there because not everyone is cold (that's why he is singing it get it). The loneliness that comes with spiritual awakening usually leads us to feel lonely but the reality is that is part of the process of becoming stronger and enduring more. This is the paradox of the Cold it takes us back to the inside and helps us be more mindful and breath. Win hof method is actually about embracing the cold and finding warmth in it. And what's ironic is that the most you expose yourself to cold the less it effects you because you inside become more warm. You speed up your metabolism in this process and become more conscious. Which is important as things are getting colder as time goes on. So you must always make yourself warmer to stay strong. Spiritual strength is in yourself you don't need anyone help you see the warmth in the cold. but it is nice sometimes to have someone remind you in-case you forget as we do sometimes when we are feeling low.

@[ringo:35615] In a way sure, but ultimately it's about a thing all conscious beings must do which is remain conscious. consciousness is a gift that even those enlightened sometimes have to snap themselves back into. Water is life, wine is the drink of gods wrath in the bible (wine of his wrath). A great metaphor because wine is good in moderation like fear, it CAN be good if we need it for our survival but we don't need for anything besides that. The statement about the hive is saying that most of the populations life is shaped by fear that's why they can't grow beyond a certain point and that's why so many people die and get mislead by evil. It's fear. That is the true enemy of man.

Incubus – Drive Lyrics 3 years ago
This song speaks of a very simple proverb that is actually connected to some very interesting complex new scientific discoveries in neuroscience which finally give us all complete scientific backing for a spiritual principle. With the heart controlling the mind, we are conscious. To be conscious means to control your mind by being able to consciously shift towards a better emotion when we catch ourselves in a negative one. Fear is a negative emotion that prevents our neural network from growing/branching out. What it does is it provokes a fight or flight response that stresses the body and depleats our aura (auras are real as proved by scientific machinery that can capture it). When this happens our chakras go out of balance and we release that bit of Adrenalin that gets us addicted to fight or flight (fear). This song is about the ability to consciously stop feeling fear when you notice it taking effect so as to prevent this addiction to adrenaline that our bodies synthesize. Most people don't understand most of the population is addicted to this because they think chakras are made up and that auras are spiritual woo woo. Yet what is funny is that the chakras are real and are an energy-informational digestive system. Chakras consume energy from the surrounding environment and release the energy that has been used or no longer needed into the energy-informational field. Balanced work of the seven chakras is a vital part of living a healthy and happy life.

What he's talking about is catching yourself when you find you are giving into fear. This is something only those who are conscious can do consistently without letting fear drive them. That's why those (most of the population) base all their most important decisions on fear. Who and why they marry, what job they choose, what career they persue. Most of it is fear which is tragic.

Gemmel had a great saying "the coward is ruled by fear, while the hero rides it like a wild stallion." So think on this when you read the song lyrics. The car is a great metaphor because we decide if the emotion drives our decisions and future (prevents our growth and depleats our aura and leads us faster to death and further from the path of salvation). Once you awaken spiritually you have the option to no longer be controlled by fear. You can now rule over it. For you understand that you have the authority too among other things and that doing things that no longer serve you is not in your best interest.

That is the book of life as written about in the bible. It's no surprise as in the USA Christianity is still by far the most popular religion/spiritual teaching. Incubus – Nice To Know You Lyrics 3 years ago
This song is a super obvious one to understand if you are one who is familiar with Christs teachings. He's talking about the desire to have a relationship with god through Christ. The entire song is a tribute to the part of us that has to die to ascend spiritually into the 4th dimension and be eternally saved. Those that do not ascend in this life have to go through hell and suffer the equivalent karmic debt to purify our soul until it becomes aligned and ready to integrate into the next phase. (hell is not eternal, eternal fire is in itself symbolic).

He's saying good bye to the part of him that died and embracing the beautiful feeling of gratitude for the birds eye view he now posses as one now awakened. Only those who see the bigger picture and are truly awakened through the teaching of Jesus the coming messiah and lord of lords can understand what he means by the lines "Could it be that it had been there all along" That's the seal of god in the mind which is essential to understanding this feeling. The Seal that 144,000 souls bare. Now the paradox here is that anyone can obtain the seal in the mind by finding it in their heart (even those who are not among the 144,000). But those specific souls (lambs) had it from the start and it was a matter of realizing they always possessed it. So that question is basically was I saved from the start or was this one of the miracles of free will (was I lamb who always possessed the seal) or was this thanks to the influence of others aka a miracle? It's a very good question and yet it makes no difference knowing it or not. If you know you know as you would of asked the big questions from a very early age. If not it is a miracle indeed.Either way it feels like pins and needles this feeling when a part of you that is limp "dead" becomes alive again. This song is about the resurrection where you say good bye to the old self. Not about saying goodbye to friends or anything. But about spiritual death which is the inability to understand through faith and faith alone in Christ that you are you saved eternally (waking limb) followed by the awakening (pins and needles) which inevitably leads to rebirth ( what happens after repentance through prayer of salvation confession). That's why he says it's like pins and needles. He's talking about the period in any who follow Christs where we must repent through deeds to show our complete willingness to follow the commandments and get close to god. (it's like waking up and allowing the sleeping limb to get blood flowing back into it so we can be completely awoken and move again) The song is about the feeling of freedom, completeness, love and blissfulness that comes after the awakening and repentance (prayer of salvation). What follows is the period of redemption (rest of the life) where everything tastes so sweet and even difficult external circumstances that might have threatened to kill you before are now no longer able to harm you (turn a blizzard to a breeze). The she represents the feminine divine in all of us that needs to be united with our masculine energy (heart leading the mind) in order for us to embrace our spirit (voice) that's the symbology of the singing. Realistically many confuse the twin flame thing for this. It's really just symbolic. The masculine requires the feminine to awaken it (kundalini). Once awoken the mind understands and can see the birds eye view. That's when the feminine sings with joy. For the spirit is balanced with the power (the heart now with the mind). The power to prevent any from leading you astray. For you have the seal in your MIND. And that is why you want to be close to god. You may have felt him but now you want to KNOW him for your mind is now enlightened by the limitless love from your heart. This whole idea of you are the one that completes me is symbolic for the masculine divine being the key to our own completeness. Not for someone who completes your soul. This idea of soul splitting to be reunited resulted from a failure to understand the symbology of the twin flame which is kundalini. God created us complete without anyone else. Although soul mates also are a thing like in the notebook. But that is a karmic debt not a soul splitting. Anyway hope you enjoyed the analysis if any other line is unclear you can comment below and I'll reply <3

Just to clarify on my Hint: I'm telling you it's one of the two. I'm sure the singer left enough clues for you all to figure it out. It's on the album cover art. LEADERS. Do they hide behind masks? is the dream they tell you they believe in true or false? That's how this song ties in with the album. It's written to seem neutral if you're ignorant. But if you're not you know exactly what it's about.

Katatonia – Soil's Song Lyrics 3 years ago
People originally said suicide bombers in the forums before the singer clarified and stated it was about some people who were willing to do anything for their beliefs.

Look at the album art. The kids. The "leader" leering over them abusing their power.
Think about what religious people are prepared to do anything for their beliefs?

Hint: The illuminated and those who think they are illuminated.

To summarize this is a tribute to those that follow God and those that that Do what thou wilt shall be as the whole of the law. Why it's called the soil song is because it embodies death. When we die our physical bodies go back to the soil and are gone never to be brought back. When a planet dies the physical body is brought back, but in the next dimension in a different form.
Soil song represents the song of death of this planet. It ends after we have all made our choices. This song is about the price of the idea of free will, which is death. Because they would rather do it on their terms. That's why the "soil song" or rather earth song is an embodiment to those who leave earth under their own perceived will or those others who evacuate the global catastrophes (bio bombs/war/martial law) that threatens their own home and gather to survive.Different sides of a coin but same intention. To live. That's the paradox, life is in death (this planet) and death is in the belief of permanent death (the body in the soil).

"Future death in your reach
Who's first, okay"

If they knew they were lining up to be driven out to their deaths who would volunteer? That's the powerful message of the soil song. No one wants to die. That's what we all have in common. Even though some peoples will prevent them from hearing the message, the universe still gives us all a chance to choose life or death. As everyone has a choice in a planet were all have been granted free will.

Imagine someone is about to board that ship and you tell them "future death is in your reach just board this ship and you'll move towards it much faster... Who's first?" You can't imagine many of them would want to get on board right? Well that pause can be a silence indicating a lack of willingness to leave or a complete disregard for the warning message as they would rather die on their terms sooner than on someone else's later down the track. Either way it's masterfully phrased here because it leaves the question for you to ponder. It's reflecting the choice we have made available to us everyday to make decisions that bring us closer to death or life.

It's the story of earth too as we are close to the third dimension transit where the planet we know and live in dies. (that's why it's in our reach). It's everything and soon it will be nothing. Erased in time. That's why the choice is in this life time (in your reach).
Masterpiece track on a masterpiece album. I wonder if those who do what thou wilt will bring this with them to space? It would be rather poetic if they did. Fate does tend to have an ironic twist. Those that choose life through the the acceptance of permanent death will surely die as they manifest their beliefs through their choice. While those who do not fear the eventual death through the acceptance of only life for the rest of the journey after stumbling across this "narrow" path have a chance to live eternally. Would you risk eternal life for your will? Can you look at the extremes. If you can understand where both extremes come from (perhaps you're educated enough to know) then everything I talk about in this song would make complete sense.

Although it was inspired by his daughter and re-connecting it's universal meaning is about bridging the void with anyone. We all once sucked on the milk of our mothers. Placebo – Post Blue Lyrics 3 years ago
Emotions are actually a transmitter of frequency. Our frequency effects all living biological beings. There was frozen water tests done to prove this. This song is about breaking off a relationship and support for an addict because you love them and can't bare to watch them suffer anymore. What he's first talking about is bad energy vibrations. How we feel effects things around us. Water element symbolizes emotions because we are mostly water and water is the carrier of energy.

Brian clearly loves them and that's why he has to destroy the relationship and essentially "break the back of love" for this person. Because when someone is an addict and is killing themselves every day with heroin you eventually have to draw a line. Else you will have to be there to pick up the pieces when their life is finished. He knew the best thing for them was for him to walk away in hope they would wake up. So this was his sort of tribute. It's very similar to a song to say goodbye in many ways. But this is more like hopefully you'll learn from me walking away.

Bite the hand that feeds is basically saying that person was going against Brian. Brian was clearly paying for this person and looking after them. Which isn't hard to imagine. Most heroin addicts become depantant on others when their addiction gets out of hand. He's essentially saying here that it's not very smart to go against the person looking after you "feeding you" by shooting up. So clearly he's talked to this person and told them not to (he's given them warnings).
But the addict couldn't help themselves. So Brian breaks the relationship off with them out of love. He couldn't stand enabling them to kill themselves. If anyones had a relationship with an addict they would know what this feels like.

Tool – Pneuma Lyrics 3 years ago
"We are spirit bound to this flesh
We go round one foot nailed down"

The holy belief taught to us by Christ himself is that we are a greater spiritual body bound into this flesh of sin here on earth. Basically that we are more than just flesh. Any awakened individual will know that there is a spirit that lives on to embody life again in a new cycle after death.
The one foot nailed down is a metaphor for the price we are paying for the sins of others. If you look into Crucifixion as all limbs being nailed down, we are one foot nailed down. He is saying that our fate is sealed on this planet. The irony here is that only believers of the end times who have found redemption through Christ would know this to be true in their hearts. As if to affirm this truth bringers words of prophecy we now know only months after this albums release that the mark of the beast is coming very soon. Patent 060606. Our fate is sealed and the end times are close.

"But bound to reach out and beyond this flesh
Become Pneuma"

Now he is giving us hope and saying that we are bound to reach out beyond this. Bound to reach out and beyond this flesh become Pnuema. These are the words of light (truth and love) stating a universal truth that Jesus and even many aliens have already shared with us (like in the law of one). If you don't have FAITH then you know that science already proved this to be universally true with the big bang theory and the way the universe is like a breathe that goes in and out in stages endlessly for all eternity. He is telling us that we will eventually join with source again.

"We are will and wonder
Bound to recall, remember
We are born of one breath, one word
We are all one spark, sun becoming"

This is a beautiful description of being human. It is wonder and will that allows any to move towards purpose and growth.
Bound to re-call and remember is talking about spiritual growth. See our soul carries with it information from all our ancestors. The body knows what we are. When we open our hearts and live from the heart centre we remember who we are. Beings of God which is symbolic for the source of all energy and creation basically the 0 before the 1. The 1 after the zero and so on. Any energy state is one fragment experiencing itself subjectively. This is what makes you, you. But if you allow that sense of ego to dissolve like on a hallucinogen or through meditation your heart remembers that you are one. This is crown chakra.
One spark sun becoming is literally us being children born of stars. We carry in the centre of our hearts one tiny spark one iron molecule. This means that in the reversal the same is true. We will become sun. And eventually everything. Which explains the lyrics towards the end (one breathe one word, a reminder of what we are which is Pnuema. This is what focused meditation focuses on to strengthen the mind, spirit, connection to infinite intelligence.

Child, wake up
Child, release the light
Wake up now
Child, wake up
Child, release the light
Wake up now, child
(Spirit)
(Spirit)
(Spirit)
(Spirit)
Bound to this flesh
This guise, this mask
This dream

This is the Sound of our dire reveille
Maynard wishes to rouse all from our apathy
Lest we Cease to be. (As spoken in the song Descending Verse 6)

For us to continue we must follow the path of light. WE MUST WAKE UP. When Maynard speaks to children he speaks to the young spirits. The ones most susceptible to the density of lower vibration (evil) energy on this planet. Else we will incarnate into lower dimensional beings. He wishes to save them from the downwards spiral. Those who are corrupted in the fifth dimension cease to be entirely. So this most tragic of ignorance of universal truths that "black" and "nothingness" awaits us after death is only true for those that follow the path of sin. A sin is just an error. The longer you follow the harder to stop. A failure to understand universal truths which Jesus and many other messiahs have brought to us. Pneuma is about waking people up and saving them. It is unplugging people from the Matrix. The Simulation of the matrix is the programming that is intended to keep us ignorant to who we really are. The unplugging of NEO signifies his AWAKENING. But he can only awaken when we chooses too. For all pure spirits that follow the true light of god respect free will. They cannot get you to awaken they can only show you the door. Ever wonder what the symbol of the hand is in lateralus? that is symbolic and also a practical means to conjure energy. The energy that science now proves is being manifested by all those in meditation. Allowing our brains to enter HIGH Alpha and delta brain waves. This is what people ignorant to religion should research before giving it a chance. Science and religion are just different ways of looking at the same universal truths. Big bang = pneuma. One breathe. Both religion and science require great discernment to separate the cherry picked science or "wrongly" translated religious texts from the peer reviewed or righteous religious texts.
As Joe Dispenser likes to say "Science is now demystifying the mystical". People are waking up faster than ever thanks to science finally catching up. Those who "believe facts over fiction" are finally waking up. As the fact is that mediation = energy healing. All mental illness is a result of energy in-balance and prayer is in the feeling not the words. The words help manifest feeling. This feeling is what creates manifestation. This is what the secret is about. It's how energy works. Energy attracts like energy of an opposite looking for something that completes it. But to fully unlock this power you need to control your emotions. The only way is by living through your heart centre. This is what the bible means by allowing Christ into your heart. Joe dispenser explains really well this on a scientific level and how amazing it is for us to live from the heart because the heart sends emotions as thoughts to the mind. This feeds a loop that keeps getting stronger. It is how we were created by mother nature to evolve. Evolution is spiritual.

Footnotes: Ok this is a long one so prepare to have every thing dissected because this song is slightly cryptic and efficiently phrased so that the listener can extrapolate the meaning in it's entirety. It’s very specific in that sense.

Before I break down what I believe all the phrases in this song to mean I want to enlighten you about the ISO which is very much related to the theme of this song(be patient read through this all and it will be clear to you).
Should you be well read enough and should you be aware of the state of affairs of the world you would know of the Organisation for Standardisation (ISO). Funnily enough they recently released a draft guidance standard on “radiative forcing management” which you can download here: http://etcgroup.org/content/briefing-radiative-forcing. It’s worth noting that many years back Bjorn Lomberg's Centre released an un-refereed report on geoengineering which was also a significant report (you can read about it here:http://www.realclimate.org/index.php/archives/2009/08/a-biased-economic-analysis-of-geoengineering/comment-page-6/).
The ISO and Lombergs centre report are two classic examples of how research and support of geo-engineering has been planned for a long time now by the fossil fuel industry as a whole.
What concerns most educated people about the Lomborg report is that the consensus was based on a meeting between around 50 economists. These economists were attempting to dictate the future of the entire world by attempting to strongly influence the worlds response to global warming based on cost and benefits strategy (our entire human races survival might be gambled on a cost and benefits strategy! who would have thought money would be a problem when our entire races fate is on the line). To add further insult this report omit the costs of many potential negative aspects of producing stratospheric cloud to block out our sunlight and brighten our clouds. The second author of this report works for the American Enterprise Institute (for those who don't know they are a leading global warming denier). It is most comical to think these global warming deniers are suddenly acknowledging global warming when it suites their motives.
You may think i have no evidence to back up that this is a "motive" maybe you think the motive is a "conspiracy" yet when you take into consideration that right now is a real threat and is being backed by millionaires. The largest geoengineering projects and studies right now are funded by fossil fuel studies who are lobbying for this "radiative forcing management". Most people know that the fossil fuel industry knew about climate change for a while now and have been denying it yet for a long time now. What’s most shocking is that they have been denying it while funding research for alternatives (geo engineering and solutions like releasing iron into the oceans in large concentrations) to prevent us from dealing with the things that are within our power to change and can actually make an impact: so as to not disrupt their industry. Many of the players involved are the same scientists who have undeniable connections to the fossil fuel industry (read the "fuel the fire" report for more information) people like:David Keith who is a climate engineer from Harvard who has a company called carbon engineering: which is financed by Norman Murray Edwards who is the tar sands oil tycoon. Some of these scientists are big players. Men who have significant equity and investment inside the fossil fuel industry. Men who are considering carbon capture as a "viable" solution... which coincidentally has very little proof of any beneficial effects and is considered very risky yet seems to be the only antidote to geo-engineering if we were to put a stop to it. In a nutshell it would essentially be used to improve efficiency and speed rates in fraccing above all else which would increase production of oil and fossil fuels. If this connection isn't enough of an embarrassment in itself for what kind of greedy unethical business men are attempting to dictate our response to global warming you are free to turn to what the leading climate scientists are saying. The most optimistic of which are saying that this response is a lazy make shift supplement that can no way make the kind of impact we need to make to prevent catastrophic events. The less optimistic climate scientists which is in-fact the majority of leading climate scientists are saying that this is a dangerous road that should not be explored under any means. Both the optimistic and not so optimistic can agree on one thing, and that is that to even just trial and experiment with this technology risks destroying the equilibrium of everything as all ecosystems in the world are connected to each other in many complicate and intricate ways. Many scientists believe this solution is “insane”. We don't know the negative effects as we only have theories, however these effects can be extremely detrimental and un-reversible. Problem is the opinions of the leading scientists aren't what’s circulating in the media most prominently (no surprises there) it's actually pro geo engineering presentations and articles manipulating the people into thinking that the world is already a lost cause and that our only option is geo engineering. Much propaganda is out there attempting to glorify geo-engineering and make people more open to the idea in future as a response to global warming.
You might be wondering how this relates to a tempest. But the key take-way here is that propaganda works much the same way as geo-engineering. It is a form of manipulation that is only effective short term and requires a continuation of the same effect for the previous efforts to not be unmasked. A short term illusion that everything is as what it appears to be on the surface.
“Heat lighting flash, but don't blink
Misleading
Tranquility ruse
You're gonna happen again”
You can see this communicated in the opening lines here. Heat from global warming, lighting in the clouds from geo-engineering, and a flash happens. But don’t blink. We don’t want you to stop for a second. We want you to continue working. Your tax payer money can then be used to build sustainable development which will house people being moved in from rural communities (who will no doubt be replaced by robots).
It’s misleading. Because flashes generally represent something that demands your attention. In this case I believe it is the beginning of geo-engineering. Everyone should be talking about this right now instead of who this actor fucked or how much this stock fell. You would think this is would be focused on by media every time new research is testing this in our very skies. However, the intention of the UN agenda is to mislead people in a false sense of security with ruses. Specifically, with rubbish like “sustainability” which is in fact a ploy to draw people into dense cities and make more people dependant on our government for every facet of living. It’s also to silence those in protect of warming with this idea that we are making sustainable approaches to development which will make a big difference.
Geo-engineering itself is exactly this on another level. On the surface it is an antidote to the problem: but what it really is, is a ruse to keep the people in a dubious state of serenity so they can be controlled. Much like how so many laws that were quietly put in place in America many which contradicted the very first amendment rights of citizens, were very quickly brought onboard with next to resistance after the 9/11 and the war on terror campaign.
You’re going to happen again goes back to drawing connections to our history of times when these exact ploys were used by governments around to ruse tranquillity while controlling people and in many cases culling them. Basically the flash represents something we should be curious about which they don’t want us to stop and think about.
“That's what I think
Follow the evidence
Look it dead in the eye
You are darkness
Trying to lull us in, before the havoc begins
Into a dubious state of serenity
Acting all surprised when you're caught in the lie”
Based on history and evidence through past research we can conclude that geo-engineering will not work. I believe Maynard is concluding this. If you follow the evidence and look it dead in the eye you should be able to see what I’m explaining here. “you are darkness” the tempest is darkness. Evil. Geo-engineering. Darkening the clouds and brining darkness to the earth before the real havoc begins. Which will be caused by a combination of natural disasters brought upon by failure of responding with a plausible solution and instead with geo-engineering which gives them a weapon to use against us. This weapon will become stronger the longer geo-engineering continues. Should geo-engineering ever want to be stopped the termination shock would prevent most from enduring the price of stopping this. Perhaps this explains why the US has invested in such a large sustainable underground fortress.
If ww2 has taught me anything it is that the next culling will be brought upon by the same large players that control the fossil fuel industry.
There’s a great article here that explains essentially what connection fossil fuels have had with previous culling’s of humanity. Which ironically deepened the very same pockets that generously financed and orchestrated the entire “unfortunate global catastrophe” that was ww2. https://medium.com/@duplacer/hitler-was-financed-by-the-federal-reserve-and-the-bank-of-england-by-yuri-rubtsov-e972e3347f0e
So I believe that is exactly what’s going to happen again. They will act as surprised as the united states was when demolitions experts argued 9/11 looking like it was an inside job.

“We know better
It's not unlike you
It's not unlike you
We know your nature”

Again, this reinforces that the educated know better than to think for a second that things are going to be “peaceful”. The nature of a tempest is to grow strong by completely destroying everything in its path. Geo-engineering not only puts us into an extremely submissive position like the UN agenda, but it also gives a hint as to what their true plan to deal with warming will be. Which is to bring about a catastrophe that they are blameless for which will be responsible for the deaths of millions of people around the world. It’s no coincidence that their only solution to global warming is an idea that in itself will only have a chance of solving the problem if enough people die to reduce global emissions: assuming of-course that we must rely on this plan for the rest of our days.

Some logical reasoning to explain why I conclude this:
Research into volcanic eruptions was researched and used as an example. What wasn't factored in was that although the temperature was reduced after this eruption, temperatures in other parts of the world was increased exponentially.
Termination shock is the real danger here and it is inevitable. As the carbon needs to be removed from the atmosphere. If the management is stopped before the carbon is removed, you get a rapid increase in the temperature. Worse than if you didn't put anything in the atmosphere at all. This is the paradox of Geo-engineering which looks like it is inevitably going to happen based on the scientists who are backing this movement also having strong ties to the fossil fuel industry despite their false claims of not having any "commercial interest" in the research.
This is the perfect way to cull millions of people from the planet, at random, using technology that can be withheld in certain regions to bring about natural disaster to that specific area through termination shock. This enables them to isolate certain areas and target them specifically. Which will hold predictable results with the UN agenda forcing all people into cities, essentially enabling them to carry out controlled and isolated culls.

So in conclusion this is how you spot a tempest folks. The calm before the storm. The fact that the composition of the entire planetary system is already being played with by billion-dollar corporations and trillion-dollar corporations who are investing in this research is almost confirmation that with little opposition now it's almost inevitably going to happen. If the people rebel the UN agenda is already in place to ensure that rebels can be quickly and efficiently dealt with through control of their food, water and land. Nabour-hood watch style community structures will ensure those suspected of plotting against the government are labelled terrorists and dealt with very quickly. This is another plan put in place that has gone almost completely un-noticed with next to no opposition besides those brave people who are ridiculed and mocked as conspiracy theorists when attempting to expose this to the masses. Most people sit and twiddle their thumbs so it warms my heart to see Maynard attempt to bring it to light to the masses.
When this happens, they will need to blame someone for it no doubt.
“Blame it all on the bastards when you're blowing out
Shame on you
Shame on you, now “
As people will start wondering why natural disasters are only taking place in specific city regions an explanation will need to be presented. For this I assume the illusion of terrorisms will be the ideal scapegoat (blame it on the bastards).

“No amount of wind could to begin to cover up your petulant stench and demeanor
Calm as cookies and cream, so it seems
We're not buying your dubious state of serenity
Acting all surprised when you're caught in the lie”
Geo engineering involves winds to darken the skies. It won’t cover up their petulant stench and demanor which is to increase energy production, control the masses and cull humanity to maximise profits. Exactly like it was done in ww2. Many intelligent knew what was going to happen before the second world war. Now the intelligent know what is going to happen soon with the UN agenda. Us educated free thinkers aren’t buying into their dubious state of serenity, nor will we buy into their surprise when they are caught in the lie. Ironically enough 9/11 was fabricated for people to buy into the surprise of the government while they blame it on the bastards. This time it will the same bastards being blamed when natural disasters kill millions of people around the world that are focused inside extremely dense urban “sustainable” developments.
Unfortunately, intelligent people who can think for themselves are a minority. Not numerous enough to put a stop to the plans. Which is exactly why business has continued as usual despite the fact that geo-engineering and experiments in our oceans on a scale capable of effecting the entire worlds planetary system is already in place via questionable motive.

"Control, your delusion
Insane and striking at random
Victim of your certainty
And therefore your doubt's not an option
Blameless, the tempest will be just that
So try as you may, feeble, your attempt to atone
Your words to erase all the damage cannot"

Here we see the delusion that is the idea of geo engineering being the only solution. Insane and striking at random is indeed this solution. Insane to mess with a planetary system that could potentially wipe us all out for the sake of business and money. Striking at random refers to the random tests they are doing which have very little thought or research in controlled environments before they were carried out . An example would be the iron dumped into the pacific ocean which had no former research to justify the stimulation of the lower end of the food chain. Especially given that scientists warned them of the dangerous effects it would have on the higher spectrum of the food-chain over-all (just one example of the many insane acts that involved striking at out random for the delusion of power: https://www.nature.com/news/iron-dumping-ocean-experiment-sparks-controversy-1.22031). It will be blameless (the people doing it will not take the blame) and it will strike at random. It is a true tempest and we are already accelerating it with geo-engineering research which we also have inconclusive proof of when it comes to negative draw backs.

"Victim of your certainty
And therefore your doubt's not an option"
It's their certainty that is driving them to do this. They are their own victims as this arrogance that comes with power made people who run these corporations think that they can control things like Geo-engineering. However their doubt is not an option both from their perspective and ours. If the masses become doubtful about this solution on a larger scale we might stop it however this is not an option for them which is why so much is invested in the UN agenda to stop that from becoming a possibility .However once it's in motion and implemented we still can't stop it because of termination shock. So stopping it is not an option it seems.

"Blameless, the tempest will be just that
So try as you may, feeble, your attempt to atone
Your words to erase all the damage cannot"
The dangerous repercussions of not dealing with global warming at it's leading causes but instead using geo-engineering to ruse tranquillity will be catastrophic. The natural repercussions will be blameless and nothing these people says after it begins will atone for the all the damage that will inevitably follow.

Conclusion: In a way we have passed the point of no return once it starts on a global scale. It looks like this is exactly what's going to happen. Because a tempest must be just that. Look around you in the world. Where is the opposition? Are most aware of it. Does anyone even know geo-engineering is happening. How do people react when you tell them about chem-trails? They laugh. Things are quiet and i predict they will continue to be quiet before the tempest comes.

Lastly the title: "7empest"
Notice the very deliberate use of 7 in the title tempest. Most people will shrug off this 7 as being merely a coincidence. Or a satire on internet slang. This is not a coincidence. If you are familiar with Maynards approach to writing when working with tool, you will notice that every word and phrase is deliberate. If you don't believe me analyse a song like the grudge, or Parabola. Nothing is wasted when he writes songs for tool. We can safely assume that there are certain songs he writes that are cryptic enough to only have one meaning. The give away is in the attention to detail and how much effort he puts into reinforcing the specific angle and careful choice of words as well as repetition to reinforce the theme. So we can immediately assume there is a deeper connection here with the 7 and tempest. One that reinforces the meaning of the entire song.

The below quote is a reference to the seven harmful spirits. The connection to this and geo-engineering/global agenda may not seem like anything worth making but in my eye’s it is the strongest connection between a tempest, the theme of the song and a prophecy for the end of times. Making it the ideal icing of the cake. I believe communicating this through one number in the title was a subtle way to push people into making the connection.

Raging storms, evil gods are they
Ruthless demons, who in heaven's vault were created, are they,
Workers of evil are they,
They lift up the head to evil, every day to evil
Destruction to work.
Of these seven the first is the South wind...
The second is a dragon, whose mouth is opened...
That none can measure.
The third is a grim leopard, which carries off the young ...
The fourth is a terrible Shibbu ...
The fifth is a furious Wolf, who knoweth not to flee,
The sixth is a rampant ... which marches against god and king.
The seventh is a storm, an evil wind, which takes vengeance,
Seven are they, messengers to King Anu are they,
From city to city darkness work they,
A hurricane, which mightily hunts in the heavens, are they
Thick clouds, that bring darkness in heaven, are they,
Gusts of wind rising, which cast gloom over the bright day, are they,

Lets stop here... And focus on the lines that stand out relating to a tempest.
"Raging storms, evil gods are they"
"The seventh is a storm, an evil wind, which takes vengeance"
"Thick clouds, that bring darkness in heaven, are they,
Gusts of wind rising, which cast gloom over the bright day, are they,"

Now before you call me a conspiracy theorist let me explain with two very simple facts why I believe it's undeniable that this is what the song was written about.
First of all Maynard was very much an educated and well read man. Through media interviews we can conclude that he has shown in particular a keen interest in mythology and state of world affairs.
Here are some quotes from him if you don't believe me:

"If you take different mythologies from different cultures, the names may change and the story lines may vary but there is always something in common."
"Just in general, any government throughout history hasn't really wanted its people to be educated, because then they couldn't control them as easily."

He very much is an advocate for free thinking and questioning authority and clearly has a passion for mythology. So the motive in connecting the worlds greatest current threat with a powerful ancient text that prophesied the end of the world with what was described to be exactly the same doom as those brought upon by geo-engineering can’t be a coincidence. This is my suspicions based on what 7 represents when relating to a tempest. It is very brilliant how this is communicated in a seven-character title (and no mere coincidence yet again). However given his use of natural geometry and things like Fibonacci in songs like laterals this comes as no surprise. The man is brilliant at communication design through lyrics.
You may not believe in this ancient text, but regardless you should know that certain stories in the bible have been validated through science. Although I’m not religious I can’t deny that at the very least someone has planned much of humanities fate long before we ever lived and experienced it. I believe this is the breadcrumb Manynard is leaving for people to follow. Who would have ever thought they would find noahs ark buried in exactly the location it was described to be in the Bible. You may not believe in god. But you don’t need to believe in religions portrayal of a higher power to see that there has been a higher power dictating our fate for centuries. The more you question authority and the mockery of history we are taught in schools and through most poorly written and outdated scientific textbooks the more you will start to see this rabbit hole goes allot deeper than just geo-engineering, the UN agenda and global warming. Which is why I believe the title “fear inoculum” was chosen. It wasn’t a vaccine against sickness. Bill Gates children aren’t vaccinated. It was a vaccine against fear.

Deftones – Royal Lyrics 7 years ago
It's about an escort/prostitute that posses the qualities of an experienced individual. For simplicity sake I will refer to her as an escort in this analysis.
Although she can be seen as either depending on if you want to interpret the lyrics as the client is travelling to the escort or the escort is travelling to the client.
For the sake of the songs meaning its irrelevant which one it is. But it can be either.

For those that don't know an escort differs from a regular prostitute working from a brothel in the sense that they are the only working girls to travel to your location instead of you visiting them in a brothel. They are usually more expensive for this reason and are almost always booked by wealthier clients who have the money to spend on a better service. (although all escorts are prostitutes only some prostitutes are escorts. its common for prostitutes in brothels to be escorts on the side when they aren't escorting)

Go wild] "stanza 2"

If i had to take a guess I'd say the first stanza is what made them royal to begin with. God blessed them with good looks or good qualities for there line of work.

They resisted the conventional way of looking at certain things due to their job (they had to learn restraint,- just because you can do something as a royal, doesn't mean you should). They were able to calm themselves down in situations where others nerves couldn't take it.

Ironically these are all the traditional traits and qualities of a royal.

[God bless
Resist
Calm down] "Stanza 1"

Another thing that would have them seen as royal would be the desire to protect the reputation associated with their name.
People are always excited to get to know them and see if they live up to their name/rumour. Which is why the reputation needs to be protected in the way they act. They need to "taste" a specific way to appeal to the clients taste. Just like an escort is expected to be well groomed, they are also expected to show the highest standards in most other areas of the bedroom.
They (Yes I'm actually talking about an escort and a royal) always need to deal with the pressure of upholding this reputation, as word of mouth can spread quickly to uncover their shortcomings and damage their reputation.
There's plenty of people in the world who are willing to voice the experiences they might have with them, or expose them in things that they are doing/have done, that could in-turn significantly damage their public reputation.

Having have said this, I believe this stanza is talking about the type of people they have to put up with. Also that chance one person could soil their reputation by telling others, or uncovering something they've previously kept hidden- so all the world can see.

[I'll taste your name (I'll tell)
I'll take off these things (watch this)]

The next part. Talks of their experience in having people cross their boundaries, and the challenges associated with having to inform each person individually about the boundaries.
This goes back to the most overlooked function of a street/road. It's to divide peoples property and set boundaries. This is where the meaning comes from.

The second line speaks of contact with the escort provoking the client, which would only be mentioned next to the previous line if that was the main reason the escorts boundaries get challenged. When someone feels strongly about an escort from the love making/intimacy they experience they might make the mistake of asking if they fancy exchanging numbers or going out on a date, or simply becoming fuck buddies. Which is all a gross violation against the escorts boundaries. It serves the meaning perfectly in this verse as these feelings would have to be intense to push the boundaries, not to mention they would most likely be seen as unwanted by the female as most see clients like friends.

[Calm down
Teach us
The roads
Your contact, it keeps us provoked]

The next stanza is talking of desire
its from the perspective of the "client"
The clients intention is for the escort to not conceal any of her desires
as the client is there to pleasure her and assist her in doing her job
so they can both work towards the same goal.
The client is also very enthusiastic about it!

[Remove your veils
Every last one
I'm on your team
Let's go]

By now its obvious this song is written about escorts from the first person perspective of a client. However given the fact the first two stanzas are the qualities of an escort, its easily able to be interpreted from the perspective of an escort also. What makes it so flexible is this next stanza. It's written about both perspectives at once. Its poetic how well he captures two perspectives in one verse.

Escorts are the elite of prostitutes and always make a client feel at ease.Plus as your paying them enough to have them do exactly what you desire, there's no way you can fail them meaning in turn there is no reason to be afraid of rejection or lack of performance.
While on the other hand, escorts become desensitised to that fear of facing a stranger face to face and become very comfortable around people.
Escorts offer clients custom made experiences by having extras and varied types of services to cater to every whim. These extra options can sometimes make a client feel much much more provoked from the experience by developing feeling for the escort. This is especially true for services like kissing. When we kiss we are are actually being much more affectionate then when we make love. In-turn these feelings can make you feel haunted by the experience as the escort very very rarely feels the same way about a client due to their desensitisation to the practise from the fact they do it as a job and also the sheer number of times they might do it too.

While on the other hand my custom made nightmares refers to the custom made services that escorts offer that sometimes haunts them well after the experience like a nightmare.

Armed with teeth is probably referring to their actual teeth. As its a common expectation for an escort to be armed with great teeth and a great smile.
All we need is a nice shot simply talks about their desires and expectations.
It mentioned their needs and then downplays them.
Making it sound like all they need in life is just a nice cum-shot.
To me its almost like a reminder (as much as most clients seem to think are non existent) that they also have greater needs and goals that are more important than the ones they have at work.

On the other hand I believe it could also be talking about the clients only being armed with their teeth. In other words it's mocking the expression armed to the teeth. As in they have absolutely no defence against what they are going to experience. Which is the fashionable way to see an escort after all (not having barriers to protect yourself from getting emotionally hurt).
Now all we need is a nice shot, is again downplaying the needs of the client.
It's talking about the client as if they where a being who only possessed sexual desires in life. Which is also a reminder that they have other needs and goals outside of the paid experience of pleasure and that the escorting experience isn't the most important one.

[Face to face (not scared)
My custom made (nightmares)
Armed with teeth (in fashion)
Now all we need (is a nice shot)]

Now the first two stanzas repeat again.
I believe its now talking about god blessing one of them for their unique inner characteristics they posses, and the other trying to resist the other person.
This time its with come down instead of calm down.
Which I interpret to mean they did not successfully resist them and have instead decided to come down from their pedestal in order to accept this person has feelings like them and is worthy of their own as much as they are themselves worthy of affection.

It also ends it with

"our Contact"
Which means one of them has given the other their
personal contact. Before it was mentioned as a contact number but its not a personal one like it is now with the "our" attached to it.

[God bless
Resist
Come down

Our contact
Reach us
Go wild]

Now its that same stanza repeating again but it means something else.
Its talking about personal veils. As one can assume no client would see an escort as a paid service, if they had feelings for them and could talk to them personally based on mutual feelings.

The next stanza is talking about rockets the same way it uses the word
in the song rocket skates (that my buddy "themightyspoon" did a fantastic job of breaking down amongst all the other elementary interpretations of the meaning).
Which is pretty much a dangerous way to move forward much faster in a relationship. Riskier but if successful with a faster payoff.

So the rockets taking them all to tonight
is talking about the hypothetical first night they
go out

Take me, I don't care where
is saying that one is more
concerned about who they are going with and cares little for where they are going

Which is a beautiful little analogy of how they feel about the other person.
They don't care where the other is going in life, as long as they get to go with them.
This says allot to me, its not just faith, its loyalty and a strong passion to want to go for someone that had difficulties with the path they chose to take. This goes for either perspective whether we are the escort or the client.

[Rockets take you all
To tonight
It's time]

Which gives the song title royal a whole new spin...
I mean its comparing the hardships this person went through in life to a royal.
But using just royal as the title points towards the base meaning of the word, which is someone belonging to a family of a royal. In this case its the client potentially if they decided to start a family with the escort.

The song makes it out like the writer is blessed to have a chance to be a part of this persons life as to him they are royal in every way that matters.
Why else would they name it "royal" referring to: a member of the royal family.
Unless this person/the escort started the relationship with the intention of possibly starting a family one day.

I have an optimistic heart and assume this is a story with a happy ending...
with a moral that talks of some of the best qualities in others can sometimes be found in the less desirable people. While also bringing to light the way people don't generally have a consideration or care for others emotional needs.

We can assume the client is most likely male and the escort is female.
Which doesn't surprise me given the fact def-tones are male and escorts are almost always female. I'm happy to find there are lots of songs deftones write about that are actually structurally complex, using strong themes as a basis to build the mood the music evokes from below the ground.

Thanks for reading yet another one of my song analyses.
I haven't been this obsessed with breaking one down in so much detail since I wrote the analysis on "You've seen the butcher". If you have any requests for me to do other deftones songs comment below. ;)

Sydonia – No Woman's Land Lyrics 7 years ago
Pretty much hes saying its a fucked up world torn by needless war.
Hes talking about war in the first stanza. Its cruel and makes this planet
difficult to bear for many who are effected by it.
"Such a fucked up place for souls to live" See line one is saying war has made us close to the brink now.
Line two is talking about the repercussions of war and what we have lost/the price we pay for it today.

The last two lines of the firs stanza are saying that this person wants to live-on
in order to pay respect and tribute to the dead.
The meaning is clear based on the fact that the dawn service in Australia is paying respect to all the men slaughtered at gallipoli. Gunned down for the House of Morgan. (what has today become the house of Rockafella)

The second stanza is saying that although hes been living for this moment (line 1) to pay respect to the dead, he can relate to how scared and lonely they were feeling. He doesn't feel human sometimes. But its no reason to be lonely and afraid of the future.

The last stanza I think is talking about the freedoms people have lost, along with the reassurance we no longer have of a safe future due to war. (because we are close to the brink - S1 Line 1)
The last four lines of this stanza end it on a positive note, encouraging others to live in the moment and be alive for one more day, even if the thought is unbearable- know that he is pushing forward just to pay respect to the dead.

It's a well written song and can relate to both male and female.
Men can feel very lonely when the repercussions of the banking system make them much less saught after in this world, based on the fact that money is a strong desirable in men. Men are after-all the providers in most families.
Which links to the reason why most would be fighting a war for resources.
It's made it a much lonelier planet for men in this sense and its also made it more difficult for women too as they need to make finding someone who is a provider and is financially stable, more of a priority. This is obvious by the fact they have smaller job prospects and significantly smaller earning potentials for the same job a man would have (19% lower in my country, up to 60% in others).

This goes back to the first stanza Line two.

Hope I've made it all clear for you. This song was easy to pull apart thanks to the singers clever idea of putting dawn parade there. I suspect other countries would commemorate the dead in a dawn parade also. But regardless if they do or don't the meaning is universal as the dawn parade represents paying respect to the dead, and living on for what they sacrificed themselves to bring. Which is peace funny enough.

P.O.D. – Will You Lyrics 7 years ago
This songs about a love triangle, where the singer was actually the secret lover having an affair with a women who is no longer has feelings for her male partner. He has intercourse with the women and then reminds himself how what she is feeling won't change as her partners always been the same way; to make himself feel better about the act.... Deep down he desires her to be happy, but it leaves him in a delicate situation, as shes left wanting more out of the relationship, needing more intimacy then what her partner provides and is haunted by the act of an affair.
She still creates alibi's so she can live her life like her partner is, completely care free from the relationship problems they are facing. However sitting on the fence between intimacy and a relationship that offers comfort and support without intimacy is making her fight for reasons to express the way she is feeling, in hope that the male partner will be more intimate and will also offer her more things she wants from the relationship (in hope she will change). But the secret lover knows if hes always been the same then he won't change. Which makes him justify the act as not a bad one if it helps her discover what she wants, and gives her a chance to be happy and find love.

The secret lover has feelings for this women, and wants whats best for her, while at the same time not wanting her to leave him and cease the affair.

The chorus "will you love me tommorow?"
and the part after the chorus "This time I'm sorry"
Can be interpreted from either of the three perspectives, which makes it such a bloody relatable song having such a flexible and powerful hookline in the chorus.

I suppose the way its written it could be a female secret lover?
Maybe the women with a male partner in this song is bi or finally realises shes a lesbian. Its very open to interpretation. But one this is for certain, there is a love triangle between a man, a women and a third secret lover that gets together with the women for an affair.

Its refreshing to hear love songs that capture how it is from all perspectives of a messy relationship. something that expresses the challenges we face when we stick around for the bad times just like we have for the good. Regardless of if an affair is the reason for concern, who hasn't been sure about whether or not their partner/lover will have feelings for them in the future? its a very common challenge almost all of us have or will face one day.

Deftones – Needles and Pins Lyrics 7 years ago
They make a decision on their own to be a couple. Then they tie the knot. Its hard to explain but for all those waiting for the perfect partner it creates that individual in your head so you can combine the anger(or sadness) you feel towards yourself currently (because your not ready) and the love you feel for that fantasy partner, to get the fuck up off your ass and feel empowered to do something about it.
On top of all this its sung in such a dark, but powerful way by chino, that the listener who has understood this meaning: can't help but feel immortal in that breathe duration they are listening to the song.

Why I say immortal is because normally in a situation when you would burn out (doing twenty push ups when you can only do 15 or something) if you simply justify acceptance for something negative and grip them from a lonesome end, you should be able to transcend what your body can do normally.

Overall it makes me feel like the song serves the dual purpose of an emotional laxative of depression/sadness for singles, or it can be used like a shot of pure emotion to charge you during a work out. One of the main reasons people work hard if they aren't a professional athlete is to keep healthy and good looking for their partner or potential partner they haven't found yet.

So this is why i have said that it can make you "immortal" i didn't mean that in the literal sense, just that you get that feeling that nothing can harm you anymore because you don't care (as your gripping it from a lonesome end).

Why pins and needles was a great metaphor for males and females?
Chino chose to be the pin for two reasons, One: they are usually almost always taller and bigger than a pin. Two: they are essentially the same things long objects used to poke in something, however there purpose differs slightly as needles can give or take which i inherit as taking the love of a women or giving its own love to the women to impregnate her. The pins purpose is simple. holds things in place.
Why would this be different from a mans purpose? because they can have kids so obviously the holding in place must come from when a women has a kid. the father usually can't go anywhere as he has to provide for the mother and child. Again this is generally what happens but not always.

Others may find a more creative or deeper meaning from "pins and needles", but my meaning was as i just mentioned.

So to summarise "I'm pins your needles, lets play" is a summary, I'm a man, your a women. Lets play.

It is a hopeful summary statement... that is,If you look at it logically.

You want to play with the opposite sex, best case scenario you make a pact to each other, blah blah, ends with tying the knot and feeling like no one can get in your way when your together.
But the way its sung, is in a very, very negative tone. Suggesting this individual has suffered, previously trying to get to that point or maybe even after tying the knot. Whether or not they tied the knot but didn't maintain it, or haven't made a pact to someone to be in an open relationship in a long long time is irrelevant. Whether or not your fantasy partner is male or female, whether or not your a male or female. that's all irrelevant. As just like sex-tape, this song follows a universal theme anyone can relate to: in this case its of doubt about finding the ideal partner. We all have it go through our heads at one point or another in our lives. It keeps us awake. it torments us. it ends marriages. It keeps unhappy partners in an unhappy marriage. It even causes some sensitive and imbalanced teenagers/adults to take their own lives.

This is why this song will always remain to me, the most empowering, DARK THEMED song I have ever heard. On top of the theme of the song being dark due to hints on the purpose of the lyrics from the way its articulated. We can draw a direct connection to the emotional state of the song from the way he articulates. Its sorrowful and then its overpoweringly sad to the point where its almost aggressively sad.

To rephrase that direct connection more clearly:
When the dynamics lay low for the verse, he sings almost with sorrow. The combination of that sorrow and aggression is what creates a dark frame of mind when contrasted with the quiet to loud vocal projection of his verse to chorus switch.

As anyone who has broken down emotionally would know its a scary, dark thing and it starts of with a soft build up and then you snap.
I experienced it coming off a drug addiction exactly like this song and i feel that's what the song is articulating on another level.
The loudness in the chorus reflects the intensity of the emotions, and the almost overwhelmingly powerful instrumentation of the chorus reflects the overwhelming emotions that make one cry. Its almost like the music is telling the story of what the tears are trying to expel.

At this point of the person breaking down, there is so much that needs to come out but even expressing it in words doesn't do it enough justice because its just that big a deal.
So tears flow. A flow that can't be held back because its genuine. its like when you die of laughter and physically can't contain the laughter no matter how hard you try.

To finish its also worth a mention that the empowering elements come from both the lyrics and the way the instrumentation follows the lyrics dynamics from thin to thick with the verse chorus switch.

Not surprising this is such a great song on such a consistent and bad ass album. It sounds selfish of me to say, but i hope chino runs into some major problems with his wife one of these days : so we can get a better album then gore released. Something even reminiscent of the quality of 2003 def-tones or Diamond eyes/ Koi no yokan (song writing wise) would be all I'm hoping for.

None the less, I'm happy they just dropped off in quality with gore rather then selling out like other bands do and playing what the label want them to. Although I did sense Steven carpenter was forced into playing a specific way on this album. If you can't let Steven express himself at what he does best, then it all goes to shit.

Chroma Key – On the Page Lyrics 8 years ago
This song is simple really. Its about how things always appears cleaner when presented through something that is pre-written or already contrived . The style these first stanzas are written makes me believe Kevin Moore is making a mockery of modern day celebrities the way they would prefer to have people live their life through TV and Diaries and Interviews rather than live their own life.
Most people prefer spending time doing that rather than meeting people in real life on a daily basis. So more time is spent experiencing that media then experiencing things in that media in real life.

The second stanza pretty much summarizes the first: The people Kevin Moore is writing about are narcissists.
They have more then enough money to go out and live their life but they want their life to be a dream to others, because these people always want things to be about them. This results in their life being lived through the media by other people rather then in person. Well for most people anyway.

Although experiencing media portrays can sometimes be more attractive then the real thing it can allot of the time be much more filtered too. This is expressed in the lines "its like the time i lost my body, and then i saw it on TV Although it shed a new dimension, but it still looked like me.
Lots of things are lost through translation as well:
"Each time I walk out the door
Someone mixes metaphors"
So in the end although all these people want to live their life, i suppose kevin moore is saying: Is it really their life? I mean most of it is misunderstood anyway...

The last line is a bit different from the song.
It tells us that just because you can do something that's cleaner on the page: doesn't mean you should.
The example is writing lines of music: You can tell its about music because of the Tori reference from the last stanza. Kevin Moore is a composer so that's the example being used.
"Each time I write lines for it
Someone improvises it
Life is so much cleaner on the page"

Every-time Kevin Moore writes draft sections for his songs: for example, drum parts he programs before sending the demo to a real drummer like Gavin Harrison, He ends having the musician improvise over his draft sections.
This example is pretty much saying that just doing something spur of the moment can allot of the times be better then when someone else sits down and spends that time writing something contrived and thought out.

Moral of song: Last line is a great fractal for the overall moral of song.
Life isn't always better experienced through a script written on a page, in fact its almost always better when experienced through something real that was created through action.

Just don't misunderstand that line: "life is always cleaner on the page"
That's the perspective of the writer or the narcissistic celebrity.
Kevin Moore is challenging that with this song. Telling us things are not always what they are cracked up to be on paper and to him experiencing everything first hand is much better. In-fact experiencing something first hand gives you a final perspective on a subject or theme.

Chroma Key – Get Back in the Car Lyrics 8 years ago
Ok so previous comment was wrong. After listening this song a few times more, last week the true meaning of this song hit me real hard when a bunch of my texts and calls went unanswered.

so the man was tired and the car was starved
(man was tired- implies its most likely the evening) (car was starved- His body needed fuel)
and the sun was setting
(setting of the sun signifies the falsity and evil in which they are who have no charity and faith- that is from the bible)
no the moon was tired and the cow was carved
(correcting himself by not changing what he said but by adding more relevant details) ( moon was tired implies the mystery of the individual he is having dinner with has fizzled out) ( cow was carved implies the beef was carved ready to be served)
i remember every second
(he can still see it being replayed in his mind)

forget what you don't know yet ( Forget these assumptions you make
forget what you don't know yet try to get to know the person more
forget what you don't know yet stay positive)
yes i saw the way you talk to your cell phone (EVEN IF you see evidence of the worst in someone)

forget what you don't know yet
forget what you don't know yet
forget what you don't know yet
( the message "Forget what you don't know yet" is directed at the listener: It promts us to forget things we don't know yet for certain as its a waste of time thinking about these things, escpecially when it usually means getting our hopes up about something we don't even know is genuine AKA our relationship with someone we just met that could very well be non existent. This line is a fractal of the whole songs meaning. You can tell its directed at ourselves AKA the listener based on the way the last line of the stanza is about "I" instead of "you")
then i thought about the man with the shotgun
(ponders about another mans story)
(this story is a story of tragedy)

so the man took a shotgun out of the trunk
(the man is willingly looking to hurt someone)
waited on the hood with the headlights on
(doesen't want to go anywhere with the relationship, just wants to hurt someone- headlights represent the intension to see someone AKA he is seeking a women)
radio was playing christmas songs
(Its a time where families are together and he is alone AKA no family connection: seeking a women to fuck and hurt)

later on he thought he saw something
(This line talks about all the people that play along to get you out of their faces, AKA giving you fake phone numbers and giving you the false impression they welcome you or approve of you)
realized he never saw anything
(man finally realizes that was his assumptions making him think these women took an interest in him, He didn't know anything for certain yet HE DIDN'T FORGET WHAT HE DIDN'T KNOW YET)
now he drives with his headlights off
(as a result of him not forgetting what he didn't know about these people yet, he now took this to heart and lives his life lonely without the motivation to seek women partners)

forget what you don't know yet (This stanza is directed at us AKA the listener)
forget what you don't know yet
(for those that don't understand from the break down last stanza of this line: it literally means don't think about something you don't know for certain or you will waste time thinking about something you haven't even spent much time on) (think your first interview for a job, After about a hundred interviews since your first suddenly you don't get excited anymore getting a first interview for a job: you don't even think twice about making it to the interview stage until you actually score the job: this is a perfect example of forget what you don't know yet)
forget what you don't know yet
yeah i saw the way you climbed out the window
( Even if you notice someone trying to get away from you without you knowing, or purposely avoiding you AKA not answering your calls, Walking away from you in a party or bar/club the moment you get distracted with something else or take your eyes off them, or maybe even the way someone goes the other direction once they see you gaze at them)

forget what you don't know yet
(repeat of the above again But this time the message is directed at the opposite sex: I say this because if a women listens to this song it can be interpreted from her point of view as well there is no HE OR SHE the only male is the one we all learn from because he is a prime example of tragedy: You can tell its directed at the opposite sex the way the last line of the stanza switches from "I" to "you")
forget what you don't know yet
forget what you don't know yet
and now you never answer your cell phone
(this last line is actually pointing out the irony: We know some of them will dodge your calls and avoid you, or manipulate you by giving you their number so you can walk away and leave them alone: This last line is sort of ending in such a way as to tell you that they are doing this purely as a result of forgetting what they don't know yet as they have been through it before as well. It can also mean that someone who thought they knew you can suddenly come to the realization they don't know much about you at all. This can also end with them deciding to forget what they don't know yet: hence the "now you never answer your cell phone". Its either someone you knew for a while or someone you just met. So that last lines meaning is very broad and open to interpretation in that sense.

Overall song meaning summary:
This is very ironic the very thing the singer is telling us to do , other people wind up hurting some of us because of. The moral is one will not be hurt by people forgetting us (or doing their best to forget us) because they don't know us: If one forgets what they don't know yet.

This song is one to definitely think about if you have previously been hurt by people forgetting you because they didn't know you well enough yet. Generally i don't let those situations get to me. Its not going to turn my head lights off that's for sure. But on days when i am tempted to turn them off, I put this song on and crack open a beer.

Hope you enjoyed the analysis!

Chroma Key – Get Back in the Car Lyrics 8 years ago
@[TheProfitSong:6466]
Scrap the above, after listening to this album many more times i feel the above meaning is incorrect as i misinterpreted the headlights and what they represent.

New accurate meaning:
The headlights simply look at what you have your eyes set on, and what your trying to see in better detail. Once you understand the way he uses it as a simple allergy of what is happening you can see the songs aren't very cryptic and they are all very universal and easy to relate too.
(this is what makes this album my favorite break up album)

So to summarize, its suppose to be a song to cheer up those who had feelings for someone who led them on and never ended up returning the favor.
Disappointment is the key here. The moral is even if you know this person is gonna crush your heart and your gonna be disappointed they don't have the same feeling for you as you do for them, Forget the negativity or the positive... Destroy all expectations that way: you have the most opportunities by not being negative and having bad mantras, without any of the burdens of unrealistic and overly positive viewpoints which creates allot of pain when things don't go well or according to how you thought they would.

The message of the song is save yourself time in life by not wasting it thinking about what something is or could be in a relationship (or could have been for that matter). You could use that time to journey in life or do things you always dreamed of doing. or just simply develop and move towards your goals. So just MOVE FORWARD and get over this relationship or situation that has made you stop and have to think about things. You can't see things very clearly in life when it comes to relationships so best just not go out of your way to see clearly and just let someone become more clear the closer they get to you, or you to them. If your heading their way or their heading your way (think two cars on the road) Having headlights is not going to change weather your going to see them or not. If your going to them you will see them eventually when you get close. Its another allergy for a relationship and by far the most clever i have ever come across in music.
Kevin moore has a talent for making complicated things seen in a really simple way. There is a monstrous amount of wisdom in some of his songs.

The rest of the song that i left out is pretty self explanatory:
The man was giving more in the relationship and not getting enough back from the other because they didn't feel the same way as him (so the man was tired)
At this point in the relationship he was running out of ways to keep the relationship going (and the car was starved)
But then the way he uses "no" to break up the first two lines from the second is as if he isn't too sure himself what was the reason they broke up.
So upon thinking about it thinks the cause for how they where both feeling was actually the absence of mystery he would of noticed one evening over a meal, The moon representing mystery just like the lyrics of walking on the moon by the police, and the carved cow being a simpler way of describing a meal with beef.
(no the moon was tired and the cow was carved)

This hook line chorus part just reinforces the moral of the song which i talked about above with the "saving yourself time" by not thinking or focusing on what is unclear until that person is close enough to you in a relationship for those things to be naturally revealed through the superior communication that comes with stronger relationships. (Forget what you don't know yet)
Then he mentions the fact we talk to people on our cell phones and this is another allergy as the person on the cellphone unless an emergency will end up telling you what you choose to speak to them about over the phone when they see you in person next time ... Or for analogy sake, when they get close to you they will end up telling you the same thing with more clarity so no point in being inpatient and doing it pre-maturely like someone spilling their whole life story or something really personal over the phone (yes i saw the way you talk to your cell phone)

Then they get on subject of the man with the shotgun, who is impatient and is putting so much effort in seeing more clearly even though it can't be seen clearly until it gets close to him. He thinks he understands the person really well.
He has acted with hostile intention against that person during a time he thought they where close.

The person he was hostile to has not forgiven them as they where never that close to them to begin with. It usually takes a really really strong relationship for two to be able to apologize and forgive each other after hostilities. This person would not have had the reason to act with hostility if he didn't misread the person to begin with thinking they are really close to them. Moral of the man with the shotgun's story:
He thinks wayyyy to much about things he doesen't know that well yet and because of this makes assumptions and puts thoughts into his head that turn him into a hostile man who see's things that aren't there in people.
Due to all this he winds up spending Christmas's alone without a family.

As time goes by he thinks this person was close to them and that this justified his behavior. However after more time i think it becomes clear that person (victim of the hostilities) was not that close to them and the reason for the hostilities was because he was seeing things that weren't there in the person at the time of the incident.

Now this person has learnt from the mistake and doesen't use the headlights anymore as they made everything outside the headlights much more blury and less clear. As no one is close to him he finally realizes the headlights are a waste of energy to try see things that aren't there.
(later on he thought he saw something
realized he never saw anything
now he drives with his headlights off)

Finally the last tow stanzas reinforce the original theme of the song NOT the story of the man with the shotgun but rather the main story which is the song writer or us (if we can relate) and the women that realized things weren't going to work out before he did. Why i can safely say she realized before him is because of the last two stanzas :
yeah i saw the way you climbed out the window
and now you never answer your cell phone

This means the women unlike himself wasn't close enough to tell him at the end of the relationship when she realized it wasn't going to work out. So she just jumped out of the car or so to speak. Because that way the the man (or we if we can relate to his story) would think they are trying to put a stop to them not getting any closer by not calling the man (or us) to arrange any more meet ups or anything.
The women did it so if we where too close (worst case scenario), continuing to peruse them (getting close enough to their car to realize you can't pursue them anymore this is as far as you will get) then realizing after trying to speak to them in their house (because you don't jump out of a car window) that they would rather take the unconventional approach of avoiding you so you don't even know they are there. This is usually not answering the phone, not calling back, and hanging up on them when they call. (sort of like when you go to someones house every day and they don't want to see you they will not answer or reply doorbell ring and they would probably jump out the window if they didn't want to listen to you knocking on the door) This all means that the women can forget what they don't know yet even if its trying to get close to them, while the song writer cannot.
If someone clearly doesn't want to speak with you in person (going back to the window and him visiting obviously they won't want to speak to them over the phone.
So this person clearly found out the hard way by doing both and finally realizing that he he never saw anything... JUST LIKE the man with the shotgun.

So in a way it connects two men who are victims to their own ignorance with to two other victims (one a women) of ignorant peoples behavior.

ABSOLUTELY anyone can relate to this song because of the way it connects up both a women and an unmentioned sex of a person being victims to men's ignorance of this wisdom and life lesson, which is to forget what you don't know yet.

Men and women can listen to this song from the main perspective because although Kevin Moore wrote it after reminiscing on the bad relationships he had with women , he wrote it without any he or she references in the main story of the song which always seems to be a mistake people make with love songs these days.
They write it from their own sex's perspective. This song can be visualized from anyone's perspective which makes it a great song to share with anyone you love man or women because it was sung in third person about his own experiences.

To me its a special song because no one has chosen to write a song about this theme/life lesson. The fact its third person when he makes the only "he" reference in the first stanza to the main story is remarkable and very unique in any love/relationship songs. As it saves itself from being a song everyone hears as being about a man.

I wish more women wrote love songs like this. Maybe then i would listen to artists like Lana Del ray (who FYI only write music for females from the female perspective in first person).

I rate this song a 10/10 lyrics wise because you can only learn lessons the hard way after experiencing something for the first time then reflecting on it a specific sort of way that enables you to discover a self evident answer that's as true as love.
Unfortunately we humans can only learn the hard way and this song enables me to reflect on this lesson so i don't forget it. In my opinion all lessons can be forgotten briefly or entirely. Such is the value of the finest music reminding you of these lessons. Far back in time when there was no lyrics in music, composers would recognize and place the most value in compositions because to them it would be worth the most reminding themselves of lessons only they can understand being composers themselves. This is assuming they can learn something from the piece.
This is what the movie Amadeus was about. I highly recommend you check that movie out if you haven't already. Every artist or person who appreciates art should see that movie. That movie reminds me of why i originally decided to spend so much time understanding lyrics to share my knowledge with others to help them better their skills in understanding it themselves.

Slipknot – The Devil In I Lyrics 8 years ago
First I'l do a summary of the meaning then I'l break down the lyrics to my interpretation.
Summary: It's a victims perspective on taking a guilty person to court, but more than that its a song about modern complexities of wrong an right and how in the past religion has clouded the judgment of people making them think those that serve the lord are right and those that do not are wrong and guilty of not telling the truth if they speak out against god.

These days we have evolved enough as a race to know that wrong and right is all perspective. What is right to you may be wrong to another person.
This is why many trials in court are determined more by what the majority feels is right or wrong (the gut feeling and sense of morality that is represented by god) then by what is actually legal. Think all the female teachers that only get fired for having sex with teenage men as appose to male teachers getting life sentences for having intercourse with teenage female students. This same legal system is set in place to punish those that do wrong on a case to case basis that again relies heavily on the perspective of the judge. So moral of this song is what is right for you may be wrong for me. What is wrong for me may be right for you hence the term (devil in I) Reason why that was chosen as the title track is because the song is a tribute to all those who where innocent and speaking the truth, who ended up being tragically sentenced for lying before the court system (even though they where telling the truth) or in some cases they simply ended up being seen as evil for accusing someone who was guilty that almost everyone else see's as righteous and innocent.
This is why i feel the songs hook-line is
"step inside , see the devil in I" because its about someone going into court and
being seen by most as being evil.

Now this is the point this analysis gets complicated.
The main point of the song which i vaguely summarized atop is presented from a neutral perspective. I can guarantee you that my findings above are correct because I've been too neutral to be wrong. However now I'm presenting my biased opinion on what the song is specifically about (it may not be specifically about anything i could very well be wrong with my opinion below).

In my biased opinion disregarding the moral and lesson of the song i feel Corey Taylor wrote this about a young victim who was molested by the priest at his local church where he attended mass. "Undo these chains, my friend
I'll show you the rage I've hidden" is using the chains to represent the child's obligations and responsibilities set by his parents to attend church.
Without the responsibilities the child could unload emotionally and express his feelings of the incident but by being forced to go to mass the child feels they are unable to do anything about this recurring abuse because of the fear no one is going to believe them over the priest.
Or maybe its just highlighting the rage that's hidden inside the child that's built up from his own personal moral making him feel like he has been betrayed and wronged defiled, he feels the legal system and chains (obligations and responsibilities he has to society) have prevented him from expressing his feelings towards the priest physically or verbally.
"Perish the sacrament
Swallow, but nothings forgiven"
Here its saying the sacrament has been perished we can only assume that means his sacraments have been deprived of their normal qualities due to the nature of this man or we can assume the literal meaning that this priest still swallows those bits of food that they hand out in mass as a blessing, and that he actually thinks that god is forgiving his actions by him doing these things.

"You and I can’t decide which of us was taken for granted
Make amends
Some of us are destined to be outlived"

At this point its looking at their conflicting perspectives and pointing out the ironic similarity, both of them have taken each other for granted in the past. The child use to think that the priest would serve people without needing to give recognition to them. The priest took the whole sexual experience for granted expecting it to always continue. (look up the definition of taking for granted if you don't agree with this observation I'm pointing out)

The next two lines are describing the fact the priest is much, much older than the child and that he should have much more reason to make amends for what hes done as he is destined to die much sooner than the child.
Unfortunately as it says in the previous line he took the whole relationship for granted assuming it would go on forever, which shows he is not going to ever make amends for what he did and is still doing. This pretty much takes the priests morality into question and brings it to light based on the fact he took it all for granted which makes the priest seem much more evil than we first thought for having had raped a kid. I mean rapists are terrible evil people but rapists that take that whole reoccurring abuse for granted without any desire to make amends before they die are a whole nother level of evil and fucked up.

Step inside, see the devil in I
Too many times, we've let it come to this

Its come to a court case, and the victim is
either addressing the jury or the public or both.
Come inside the court room, see the devil in me.

The next line to many times ect, is mentioning the fact that too many times in history we let it come down to innocent because the jury were convinced only an evil person making stuff up would stand against a priest. They literally couldn't believe the persons accusations against a high priest.

However these days a famous few cases are known to have changed the faith people put in priests. Many cases have been known these days to have presented several different people who were victims of the sexual abuse of priests. Generally all these accusers where saying the same thing which made it impossible for the jury to still think the accuser was not telling the truth when several accusers now stand before them, many of which have no relation to each other.

This is where the final line comes into play.
"You’ll realize i’m not your devil anymore"

Why? because almost always when very strong evidence is collected against a priest its due to them taking the whole situation for granted thinking it would continue for a long time without any interference. I feel based on past cases this generally makes them get careless and makes their argument less and less credible in the court of law. So its almost certain if he did take it for granted that the jury would wind up seeing him as the evil one speaking lies to defend himself "represented by the devil"

Hence the accuser is not seen by the jury as the evil person he was assumed to be when he walked into the court room.

Either that or the Priest see's the child as the devil for walking into the court room to trial him with allegations. We can only assume if this is the case, then the judge becomes the new devil once he charges him with punishment for his crimes.
("You’ll realize i’m not your devil anymore") In other words the Child is seen by the priest as the devil for taking him to court and going against him as in his eyes he see's himself the righteous good willed man. But once he is sentenced suddenly he realizes he should of been fearing the legal system not the child in the first place. The legal system is the one that ends up punishing him.

Either way I'm very convinced devil is seen in the priest now instead of the child from the juries perspective, OR The devil is seen in the judge instead of the child from the priest's perspective. The song doesen't give enough clues for me to confidently mention which one of the two i feel is more likely to be correct.
I suppose at this point in the analysis no is really right, its all just merely a guess.
So i encourage you to read the rest of the lyrics and work out for yourself what its trying to say about this whole priest scandal in the high churches.
I could break down the rest of the song, but its very self explanatory.
If you understand what i wrote above and can start to understand what the song was most likely to be written about you can very easily understand what the rest of the lyrics are singing about.

"Under the words of men
Something is tempting the father
Where is your will my, friend?
Insatiates never even bother
You and I, wrong or right
Traded a lie for the leverage
In between the lens in light
You’re not what you seem"

All above is just questioning what the words of men
really mean in comparison to their actions, and how the real sickness hides behind words.

As a whole the song can be seen as a fractal to the first 2 stanzas i broke down.
And if anyone is interested in knowing more about this whole topic of right and wrong and perspective. I recommend you all watch the following movies:

Very few people are destined to dive down "very deep" without any aid...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MgRpwESWPLM

Correct me if I'm wrong But there's no mention of someone having sex with a chick! Maybe you should be more realistic with your conclusions and purpose on this website.... Just a thought. "mans got to know his limitations"

Deftones – Sextape Lyrics 9 years ago
Hate on my comment if you wan't, fact remains, quantity always drowns out quality.
This is today's music industry in a nutshell.
Anyway to attempt to win over your respect i write this:...

I respect your answer but the lack of quantity in it makes me realize you probably didn't look into this enough to understand the whole thing.
(my earlier comment didn't help, I regret writing it as i was pissed of at the time that such a well written and cryptic song had 40 foolish opinions... I appologize for that spurt of negativity... didn't mean to come across as arrogant either, i should of just kept those thoughts to myself)

So back to the purpose of this reply, the whole thing:
A sex-tape focus's on letting men reenact the part of the male talent making them feel empowered or simply helping them re-experience the intercourse through imagination. However in the end the experience is not real. Its something we view like a dream. (heres to all our dreams)
Some men get addicted to that feeling, which effects their performance in the bed and motivation to seek regular sexual partners. Sometimes it even destroys marriages.

Women on the other hand like to see the opposite perspective. Aroused by a mans power. They all secretly want to be dominated in the bedroom, and they all love being desired and turning men on.
(watch you wave your powers)

The song is structured in an obvious way to reflect its written about two colliding perspectives. Which is again symbolized by the waves. (the sound of the waves collide)
Overall the song is a motivation track to make people have sex more and watch less pornographic videos. (the sound of the waves collide, TONIGHT!)

And if you think about it, that's pretty positive! :D
It should get you thinking weather your viewing pornography for the right reasons... To get you motivated or to satisfy your urges.

Maybe you should listen to the song again.... This time remember that reviewing is past tense, Chino used no past tense terms in this song.
He used current tense terms. As its a current issue effecting the globe.
Something that's effecting the world now, as you read my reply.

All songs relieve emotion in the right circumstance. Many of def-tones songs are good at relieving emotions.
However this song was written to make people think about A huge problem in modern day society(to create emotion not to relieve it), which is pornographic videos and how they kill some men and women motivation. (try not watch a porn movie for 3 months and see how it changes the way you think and behave)

With 42 comments I originally saw no way my meaning could come through that ocean of bullshit (you deserve an explanation). But replying to you ed-least gives me a small chance 1 person will ed-least read what i have to say and maybe just MAYBE understand the meaning i convey.
Have a think about it... My answer is backed up by fact and more fact.
The stanza structure, modern day research on porn movies And the fact chino on odd occasion likes to write some songs with a positive message. (just because people view most of deftones music as depressing doesn't mean there isn't some shred of beautiful inspiring messages hidden here and there like treasure)

But yeah i can see why you would think the songs about relieving emotion.
He is good at this , and creates allot of songs that are like emotional laxatives for traumatic or painful experiences. (like digital bath for instance, the title says it all haha) But in this case it's different! There are always exceptions. Once you understand the exception maybe you too can appreciate this exception more then you use to when you didn't understand it... and saw it as a repeat of everything else.

I know i did once i figured it out. : )
So on that note,Good luck brother I hope you improve your
intercourse after trying my 3 month suggestion out!
(assuming you already haven't figured this out and just happened to have not
made the connection in this particular song)
Peace-

Deftones – You've Seen the Butcher Lyrics 10 years ago
How could none of you realize the obvious?
were you all over-thinking?
TIME FOR THE PROFIT TO NAIL THIS ONE.

OK so for starters the video clip says allot.
The blood is a sure giveaway, but beyond the blood
The title "you've seen the butcher" implies its someone who's already seen someone for their physical deeds. In life you pay for things in two ways,
With money, and energy and time.
Chino Lost energy and time like a butcher does cutting meat.

The song is about a man who feels like he has butchered a girl.
The symbolic nature of the butcher and the blood is very simple.
As it is obviously something chino went through its NOT a murder or about a serial killer.

This women he is falling in love with is a virgin. (bet none of you would have guessed that)
There was a saying my Nepalese friend once told me "if it bleeds slaughter it"
have none of you fuckers heard that saying?

He assumes he has to take it slow with her.
But he doesn't want to. which is summarized in first stanza.
Because he has feelings for her and wishes to express those feelings sexually
without being limited to slow soft sex. (He wants to make her cum heaps... the glow is when a chick has been fucked really well, so in other words he wants to pleasure her really well, which is a contrast to the fact he has to take it slow as shes a virgin)

"Don't wanna take it slow
I wanna take you home
And watch the world explode
From underneath your glow"

Stanza 2 is about his feelings compared to hers.
He wants to watch the rain, in other words
he wants to watch something all of us just feel.
(its talking about the women he is fucking)
he wants to look into her eyes and see the life in her
while shes comes down on him.
Creep across the night sky, implies shes like a shooting star
getting brighter and brighter.
meaning she has allot to learn.
(this stanza is a bit complex, it compares both their contrasting
intentions... His is to see the life in her, and hers is to learn about the mysteries of sexual intercourse she still hasn't explored.)

I want to watch the rain
You creep across the night sky

And this is were the song starts to get sad.
It shows the contrasting Feelings of both him and her.
(always makes me tear up listening to this stanza)
Pretty much implies Chino is in love with her at this point
and time goes so slow when your about to make love
to someone you love and haven't ever made love to before.
Especially when you have taken the relationship slow, and its the first time
this person is entering the room with a different intention.
So chino knows she wants sex, but he is still in love with her hoping she might want more.

"You slowly enter
'Cause you know my room
And then crawl your knees off
Before you shake my tomb"

The last stanza is about the desire
to see her get closer to him then she ever has in their
relationship. (shes already crawled into his bed after coming in his room to have sex, so now its pretty obvious whats left to be done.)
The second line of this stanza "i need to see for sure"
implies he still gives her the benefit of the doubt.
He still is secretly hoping she might start having feelings for him
while they have intercourse. (he needs to know for sure if she just wants to use him)

Unfortunately with these situations you can only learn the hard way once you get used for your service like a butcher. (Perfect metaphor) He couldn't have written the song any more clearer. Yet still Not a single person has posted this meaning up. Makes me laugh.

The last two lines "And then the tape is on
Who do you think we could show"
Imply at this moment chino almost makes a mental
note to capture and remember everything that happens after.
He feels there's a good reason to remember it.

And then last line ends the song with a rhetorical question?
Who do you think we could show?
Meaning its OVER! Chino knows she didn't have feelings
and now hes already thinking one step ahead.
How can i turn this Loss into a victory.
BY WRITING A KICK AS SONG ABOUT IT!
remember that guys. Def-tones best songs are tragedies
that got turned into victories. <3

Poor chino probably still hasn't forgotten this night and never will.
Because he falls for innocence very easily.
The rest of the song repeats the stanzas, but the way i have pulled it apart
literally depicts the whole songs story from start to finish.

Vote me up. Because you don't need fact to know when somethings genuinely right. You just need a gut feeling with art.

Deftones – Mein Lyrics 10 years ago
I think its about a man who is always wanting to escape and find
a better life elsewhere. Not the conventional way.

And then it talks of a women who wants to settle down
and be in one place.

The way he sings it so tragically really makes me believe the song is about
someone who shares the energy of a horse, feeling like he is cursed for not being able to stay with a women based on his consistent intention,
(people who want to escape are always looking for ways)

"that way, il always
stay away from you"

As appose to her inconsistent intention that is only revealed once she wishes to
settle down.
So in other words, YES it is written about the divorce, and yes it was most probably due to her wanting him to settle down, and always feeling like he cant commit properly due to always being out (prob on tour and doing other things).

Poor guy wrote this because he probably felt that it was the mein* reason
they can't be together, and it makes him feel better knowing we can relate.
I know i definitely can.
intention always breaks people.
Especially when ones is a direct contrast of the others.
See the way the stanzas are formed clearly conveys a sense of
contrasting intention between the two individuals.
Which keeps them separated.

I guess in conclusion looks that contrast work the best in relationships.
but intentions that contrast doom the relationship to fail.

(reminds me of my parents ... Father wanted to be a writer and stay
inside never leave the place, and my mother wanted to
travel and go out constantly first chance she got.)
In the end that killed it.

Godspeed chino !

Deftones – Riviere Lyrics 10 years ago
The songs was written about a loneliness chino found present in some foreign women he met on his journey around the world. Ones that are grounded who cant leave.
The song was written in tribute to one in specific from france Which is were chino got the idea to name the song rivière. In french meaning the word translates to literally "river". This is surely another pattern of chino's .. he usually names songs about tragic relationships relating to water. Probably because he feels thats the easiest way to symbolize a song that's purpose is to cleanse you, to make you feel better by ridding you of the bad things bottled up inside.

The lyrics are pretty specific to what its about, i wont quote, il try fly through this.
so Shes a depressed women that's eager to get better with the help of a partner.
She obviously had a relationship with chino while he stayed in this place.
However after sometime He has to fly away to a new place due to tours and such obligations man is committed to.
Because she doesn't posses the power to leave her country due to some conflict or war it could even be, Chino feels sorry for her and feels haunted by the fact
he has to leave her in the middle of this.
His intention is that he wishes he could kill or destroy what ever presence was preventing her from leaving but he is powerless as one man to help her what ever this circumstance may be. (il cut your armies down)
He also intends to sacrifice his time while in this country to see her
The line I lie awake for you indicate he is jet lagged and still willing to stay up to see her and spend time with her.
To him shes a tortured soul that needs help like a ghost,
And it really really kills him to have to leave her, which is why the
stanza repeats again.
She haunts the rounds
she waits for a new face.

Something is grounding this poor soul and preventing her from moving on. She is doomed to have to seek victims (or partners) who are always passing through her country and not available to stay with her for more then a brief period of time.
Judging from the way it was written i assume this suggests chino feels guilty she had a history of partners like him. This makes her relatable to a ghost in a number of aspects.

Chroma Key – Get Back in the Car Lyrics 10 years ago
The songs about forgetting what you don't know yet, but what your bound to find out about through experience. (not cheating the natural process of relationships)

The individual must have had a relationship with someone that he thought was close to him, then after turning off his cellphone he realized this person was distant the whole time, and in the end wasn't someone who loved him or wanted to see him.
The driving of the car is symbolic for how when his lights were on, people could see him from a distance. But when he turns it off (headlights symbolic for the cellphone) he realizes only the people close to him see him.

In other words ask yourself in the crisis of any relationship, would they visit you if you didn't have a cell phone or just had it switched off?

Hint: Every song chino writes has two ways of being interpreted except for his more commercially written tracks like digital bath/be quiet and drive/passenger.
This is usually why they make it as the singles/video clips.
They can be understood by stupid people easily : )

Songs like this require Emotional Intelligence and experience.
So good luck understanding if your some silly teenager trying to search for answers in def-tones lyrics! they write songs for adults. AS they are adults themselves.
and they always have since around the fur so yeah!
People posting in deft-ones meanings come across as dropkick junkies that have no emotional intelligence or young punks that just blurt out first thing they think of.

I hope to change this by the time i make A hundred posts.
