I love this song! I've never been very good with meanings of lyrics but I'll give it a go, sorry if it's a bit obvious that this is what the song is all about. To me it's about letting go of the past no matter how hard it is. Maybe this guy messed up where he is now and needs to start a new life somewhere else. Or maybe he didn't fit in where he was and feels that he doesn't belong there so he's running away. "I'm staring down myself, counting up the years" suggests that he's thinking back to everything that's happened in the past (everything that he's messed up). He's obviously upset about leaving there. "you start to wonder why you're here not there" suggests that he's been left out and knows he shouldn't, he should "get what's fair". He wants to fit in and be over there instead of here by himself. "fair ain't what you really need" suggests that he doesn't care if he doesn't fit in, he just wants to be loved....or noticed. - Leah |

Can't believe how great this song is! Love it! To me this song is about letting love go crazy - meaning not giving a woopti-doo about what anyone thinks or what people will say behind their backs. He wants to have a chance with this girl and "let life take it where it wants to go" and to just stop worrying about what everyone else thinks. Very affectionate song :) - Leah |

To me this song is about a boy who really liked a girl but she pushed him away every time he showed her his love. Eventually he gave up and left her alone and now she wants him and tells him that she's in love with him and he explains how she pushed him back and how much it would have meant to him for her to love him back. "she screams when I'm away" suggests that when he leaves her alone she is upset and wants him but she has done the same to him and now gets a taste of her own medicine (being left alone). "now I go away" suggests that he has given up on showing his love for her and will let her come to him. "your love for me was everything I need, the air I breath" this shows that he couldn't survive without her love as he cannot survive without air. He's showing how much it would have meant to him for her to love him, it was what he needed. "now she's all alone, her eyes stay drown with tears" this shows that now he's left her alone she misses him and wants him back. |

To me this song is about a man who secretly loves a girl who doesn't know it. He is scared to tell her because she might get scared. How he explains it seems to be an obsession that he cannot control and he feels very frustrated by his feelings for her. He desperately wants to tell her he loves her but something is holding him back. "I don't want the world to see me, because I don't think they'd understand" suggests that he doesn't know how to tell anyone/ express his feelings or he doesn't want people to know because they won't get it or he could be referring "world" as the girl he likes (she won't understand). "When everything's made to be broken" suggests that he thinks it is wrong to be in love with this girl for some reason, or he tried to stop himself from loving her but can't help it. "I just want you to know who I am" shows that he really wants the girl to know him on the inside and to know his deep feelings and not to see him as what he seems (how everyone else sees him). He would like her to understand his feelings for her - what makes up his world. It could also mean that she doesn't know who this man is at all and he wants her to meet him. "when everything feels like the movies" shows that the love he has for this girl is like a love story from a movie - he loves her so much that it's almost un-real/ hard to believe.
