This song is obviously about living and not knowing what the point of it is,"Don't know where I'm going, I just keep on rowing". It's also about how living is essentially mechanical, like the rowing of oars, and the further we go along, the more we lose our innocence, "Rowing is bleeding and bleeding is breathing Breathing is feeling burning and freezing Keep getting dirty but I started out clean" The "Can't fall asleep cause I'll wake up dead" line is pretty lol though. |

I think this has to do with the Saturday after Good Friday where Jesus was placed in the tomb. "I was thirsty I remember that you gave me some water I was angry Everything at once you gave me no trouble I was crying I remember that you gave me your shoulder" This bit refers to Jesus's good deeds while he was alive. "Burn out any memory of me ever breathing 'Til I'm born again" While this bit refers to how Jesus is going to be resurrected. |
