The Rolling Stones – Sympathy for the Devil Lyrics 12 years ago
Pretty much like most say, I think it's talking about how evil is always trying to get the best of us throughout history and in a daily process. Some encourage it, some fight it, but we're all aware and in battle with it in some way.
I also think that it's mentioning some of the people who aren't seen in the politics or in war, that there's corruption in wealth and power, and that whoever has it is evil and polluted in their mind and action. I say this b/c of the phrase, "Please allow me to introduce myself I'm a man of wealth and taste" which to me makes reference to secret societies and the ultra powerful and rich of the world.

Correct me if I'm wrong on that, I do exaggerate about conspiracy stuff

Ding ding we got a winner, I agree with what you said. I know songs have different interpretations from different people, but I think your right about the elite ppl being mentioned in this song. Being more specific Mr. Obama anyone...?

Black Sabbath – War Pigs Lyrics 13 years ago
A lot of people claim this song was written more specifically about the Vietnam War, however it can relate to any war. There's always the elite who want to run the world, yet to this day not one has ever done so... not yet. I can say with no fear that in a not-so-distant future, we'll see this psycho appear and take away what peace there is known. It's off-topic but if you do some research you'll see this world isn't all that it's made out to be. I would propose that you find safety, and faith in what gives you strength and courage. In one day you'll need it

Led Zeppelin – Kashmir Lyrics 13 years ago
Couple things I like to point out:
"They talk of days for which they sit and wait and all will be revealed" this verse to me is so very interesting. Especially considering the first few verses before speak of "Elders of the gentle race this world has seldom seen". If that doesn't sound other-worldly and strange than I don't know what is. If they haven't been seen much than who are they, and also it seems to sound like they can see things before they occur. I have listened and re-listened but I still come to the conclusion these people are talking about something very hard to understand.

If I'm correct however in hearing this: "...all will be revealed" part than it sounds to me like maybe we'll soon know who these seldom-seen people are.

In any case this song gives me goosebumps just hearing the tone, rhythm, and words, it brings me to thinking of how much more there is.

Chevelle – Hats Off to the Bull Lyrics 13 years ago
you're exactly right about "the bull"; those individuals whom society deems as the outsider for his ideals. why is it soo wrong to say something that is true, and can help open ones mind, rather than stick w/the norm (cultural society) and blind and fall off a cliff. In other words speak your mind, think for yourself, and don't let someone put you down for your beliefs. Im not meaning just b/c i live in America i mean as a human being everyone should be respected, and not incriminated for wanting to have a differing opinion.

Linkin Park – Burn It Down Lyrics 13 years ago
that seems to infer that something was blinding their judgement before, and now they can see more clearly. And i personally agree w/tht... some ppl live their whole lives w/out really truly understanding wht they're doing.

Linkin Park – Burn It Down Lyrics 13 years ago
My idea of what the song means is this, that there is a point in time where things repeat. For those mentioning relationships this is applicable to that point of mind, as is a change in cultural ideals. The world has always known through various means that in time all things would repeat and end at some point. So I think that the song is just saying life goes through loops many times, before a true change occurs. In the meantime we must find our way through the temporary times of problems, and remain true to what we feel is right.
