I am guessing that this song is about a broken relationship and feeling bad enough to drink over it, but still ultimately feeling better for being out of it. |

Wow, I am really not sure what this song is about (homosexual infatuation? drug use? suicidal ideation?) but I know one thing after playing it...I can relate somehow. I enjoy this artist (don't really listen to the genre much tho) |

Kind of a creepy song, but catchy. I always thought it spoke to me even back when I first heard it in the fifth grade. Then I learned of this thing called "borderline personality disorder". I wondered, later, if this song had anything to do with "borderline personality disorder". In fact, I could see that as being quite plausible, but it would be best to ask Madonna! |

I saw this song as a person trying to rise above an outer attempt at destruction...this is about a person's willpower to survive, even if they don't necessarily want to. It is brazen at it's core, and could mean a lot of things. One of those songs that probably has a very specific interpretation of an incident but to the casual listener, could resonate with many people. "You can't break me!" |

The whole song has a very spooky, paranoid vibe to it. Stalkers, the government, ex-lovers, everyday people, the paparazzi...
Paranoia, delusions, and stalkers. Repeat over and over again. It goes in a loop kind of like the rhythms of this song. This is hell, week, but rather weeks on end. |

This song seems to me to be about Heroin addiction or possibly another intervenous drug, opiate or no. |

She's probably saying yeah, so I'm evil right?
If a man ever does that to me,
I oughtta feel no guilt about doing the exact same thing back.
Even if not,
that's what they get. It's kind of a what you see is what you get thing.
And she's shallow. |

Used to be a big fan of Xena. "Adventures in the Sin Trade" was actually a title of a well-known Xena episode towards the end of the series. The more I was able to decipher the lyrics while listening to it, the more Xena references I could find. "Even in death you have never left me", for example, is likely a reference to the bond between Xena and Gabrielle and Xena's death in the end of the series. |

Well, also dig this song!
I kind of see this message behind it that despite all the darkness on earth, you have a capability to rise above it even if you still live there or not, and create your own world.
The wings may be figurative, not literal.
But despite the drug pushers, the fake people, the violent people, the people without boundaries, there's also good around,
There are many paths you can take in life to get to the position you are in now, also maybe a sort of heaven as well. |

What it's like to be in love with a closeted woman in a work situation or other situation of similar caliber. Let me clarify this a bit, let's say you are a woman, right, and you are accosted by another attractive woman of older age, perhaps that, has sexually harassed you and hit on you for months. Something sexual may have happened between the two people in the past, or maybe it's just a fond memory of a fun time together. Either way, you (the one being harassed) has fallen in love with the other lady.
You put up masks to your co-workers and pretend everything's alright, because you love her and fear retribution. Anyone who you talk to about the situation tells you to stay away from her and not attempt to persue a relationship despite your interest. You know yourself that it's a horrible idea. But the lady doing the harassment is closeted and afraid of losing her job, so the "closer you get the more you're pushed away". You are lonely, and the other person is not because, they already happen to be married, or something like that. So you love her, and feel like you need her, but eventually you break because of the way she has treated you. That's when you take her down. In what way that will be decided later. The last part of the song says, I'll never ever leave you. (alone). This was the type of behavior the harasser exhibited, and I believe that the song-writer expressed the feeling of the harassed wanting the harasser to feel like she did for once. That's kinda heavy, ain't it? |

In what I see, this song, as well as "strangled", and "hide" especially, have lyrics that could be interpreted to the emotion of being in love with someone who has sexually harassed you, whether it be the workplace, whatever. That could be a woman even... |
