I agree with chardsfglass, very much like the perfect boy. I wonder if this whole album's addressed to someone particularly? I thought at first it was all about the band splitting up, but in a lot of his songs, it sounds like he's angry with someone and wants to shock that person. Am a huge fan of the cure and noticed for quite many years he's talking about a relationship with someone that's not working, it can't be his wife. I believe hes happily married. It feels as though he wants some revenge too, like he doesn't want the girl, but is wanting to hurt her. anyone with me on this one? i'd actually be freaked out if i were her. I hope these are just songs and freaky stories from RS. I would not want to be his enemy, honest! |

It's basically someone so wanting to be together and wishing the other one felt the same, but like many of his songs, he doesn't care and is stuck thinking: shall i lie and tell her will lvoe her forever? sometimes he gets in the game and deceives her, and sometimes shocks her as she's innocnet so he can get rid of her, sometimes wants perhaps to abuse her and in the end, he tells her to fuck off. If she dont' get the message that he basically either hates or despises her, which sounds like that to me, then wot? |

I read RS wrote this as he wanted for years to say what he felt strongly about. He said he was tired of people telling him what to do, and that it was time he said what he strongly felt about. Could be about fans trying to tell him how to live his life: I'll sleep when im dead you angels (angels=fans). It also sounds like perhaps people also trying to preach to him about life after death, and as we know RS well, he's a good firm atheist. He's telling them to fuck off basically! |

I thought his latest songs were about his band ending, but I have to agree with the comments of a few, it's about a boy and a girl's relationship. The boy aint interested in the kind of girl she is and is trying to put her off. It sounds to me like a girl who's not into sexual things, perhaps even a child (naughty RS) and she;s not satisfying his needs and so he's not interested. It's obvious the girl's innocent and maybe not realising what he's after. I think it's neat if there r still girls like that, anyone with me? |

I wonder if he's splitting up with the band as he has done solos recently? The past recent years, he wrote a lot of goodbye songs: alt end, without you, the perfect boy.. it's like he's not getting on with the band and wants to say goodbye? He sounds like he has a lot of hatred, bitterness, not sure? I don't think it's about his wife. I read that their relationship is still going strong. It could as well be for a fan or someone he knows. He seems to have such a hatred in his recent songs for someone, or maybe he's just bitter with his band. Scarrrry RS, I'd never want to approach him again if he wrote this for me, I wouldn't want to be in this person's shoes! |
