At first this song sounded to me as if were an atheists anthem. But the more I read it, the lines that say "Don't you call my name, I won't answer..." Is supposedly God's voice to mankind. "Come to me, my faithful sons Angels, close the gates of Heaven Seal them Seven Seven Seven Let 'em get just what they want" That is in reference to Mankind thinking that man and science can keep a steady rulership, And the line saying "God is dead" is in reference to people turning away from God because of Christendom's dogma driving masses away |

While at first it sounds like an atheist anthem it really isn't. The line; "The ransom of your soul must be paid for your dead. The way out for us all: We'll take the jailer's head." is in reference to Jesus death on the stake. Marco and the guys aren't proclaimed atheists but its very possible they want nothing to do with religion. Maybe this song is talking about that. |
