| Swedish House Mafia – Don't You Worry Child Lyrics
| 11 years ago

This eerily follows a series of stories I wrote 7 years ago when I was 15.
Basically, the series was about a gay couple who were happily married with a young daughter. The daughter was a talented singer and had dreams of being famous, but she suffered from a crippling shyness and fear of rejection. It was her fathers who supported her through it, however; they were basically her only fans. But just as she started to come out of her shell, one of her fathers became terminally ill, making her relapse into a deep depression. (Did I forget to mention she was only about 10 or 11? :/) When he died, she made it her own personal mission to become famous in tribute to him. Years later, she indeed became famous, selling millions of albums worldwide.
Having heard the song recently, makes me want to rewrite it and add in the new ideas I've developed over the years. The plot might sound interesting, but I didn't execute it very well. At the time, I was going through a depression of my own and it affected my writing ability quite a lot. :/ |

A friend of mine - one I actually don't know that well - dedicated this song to me. Particularly this verse:
You love for real
You show the feel
Of everything that touches you
I'm a pretty sensitive person, and I have no problem with expressing my emotions. I can cry at the drop of a hat sometimes, and my friend knows this as, big surprise, I regularly post blogs on Youtube which he watches. He's seen me in my most intimate moments. With that said, I think it's about a person who is like me. |

To me, having not seen any of the Twilight movies, I interpret this song as a mother/child story. The feeling you get just before your baby is born. None of my children are born yet or even conceived, but I know I love them. It feels as though I already know them. It does feel as though I have loved them for a thousand years, and when I finally get to meet them, I'll love them for a thousand more. The "one step closer", to me, means one step closer to meeting my future babies. I know this must sound crazy, but my desire to have children is deeper than most people's. |

I like an older guy, too. We met on the internet and we did plan to meet at one point, but he chickened out at the last minute because he didn't feel comfortable with the age gap (even though it's not really that large - I'm nineteen, he's nearly twenty seven.) We're still friends, though, and we both know how we feel about each other, but I'm scared to do anything about it because I don't want to lose him. I hope it works out for you :) |

To me, it's a song about death. A couple are in love, maybe they're taking their relationship to the next level, but the girl discovers that she's dying. And of course, the guy doesn't want her to die because he's devoted his life to her. But the girl wants to end the relationship because she wants him to move on after she dies, but the guy still wants to be with her to take care of her when she's sick. |

To me, it's about a mother comforting her teenage daughter over her first break-up (or something else along those lines.) |

To me, it's not JUST about a couple breaking up. To me, it's about someone dying and having to say goodbye to their loved ones.
And on the breaking up note, yeah. I definitely identify with that right now. |

| Avril Lavigne – What The Hell Lyrics

Boy, does this song remind me of my mum or what?! She's been with a few crappy guys throughout her life (my dad and ex-stepdad included.) She's currently in a big fight with her ex that's been going on for about two years. But she doesn't care about him at all now. All she cares about is having a good time with her new boyfriend who's nice as hell! :D
So, that's what it means to me. My mum's put up with all her boyfriend's bull but now she's fighting back and doing what she wants to do! |

To me, it's about a couple who have broken up, but they're still in love, and the man still has hopes of getting back together. Too much like the relationship I have with my ex-boyfriend :') |

| The Magnetic Fields – 100,000 Fireflies Lyrics

The Magnetic Fields is my favourite band, so naturally I would adore singing along to this song, even though it wouldn't mean anything particular to me. But recently, I've gone through some heart break. Two years ago, I broke up with my boyfriend because I was going through a bout of depression. While I was recovering, he wanted us to get back together. But then I got better and my feelings for him returned. He's over me now and apparently has another girl on the scene. I finally understand what this song is all about. The lines "You won't be happy with me, but give me one more chance, you won't be happy anyway," physically hurt me now because I'd give anything to have him back but I know he wouldn't be happy with me.
*sigh* Love is so complicated. |

Although I like the idea of it being about a break-up, I personally think the death meaning fits better. The person has lost someone close to them, like a life partner or a parent, and they talks about how it always wasn't easy living with them (eg: arguments) but they'd do anything to have that someone back just to show them how much they appreciate them because as the chorus says, nothing compares to them. |

Me too! I was JUST watching it this morning! When this song started to play, I was sobbing :P
The song isn't that hard to figure out. It's just about someone you love who guides you through all the bad times, even though they're not around anymore. (Break-up, death etc.) |

| Kelly Clarkson – Already Gone Lyrics

I've recently discovered this song and I love it. Kelly Clarkson is a really nice singer.
I was listening to it this morning when I found a diary I attempted to keep during my depression and I read the part when I broke up with my boyfriend. The combination of that and the song made me cry. As mentioned before, I was depressed. I was hurt, stressed with college and STRICKEN with grief. The relationship with my boyfriend was going great - it was pretty serious for my first romantic relationship - but I just wasn't "feeling it" anymore. I didn't want to, but after a lot of thought, I decided it was best for me to end it. The song made me realise that it really was for the best, despite the fact that I hurt him. It gave me a chance to grow, get better and realise what I really want. I'm now fully recovered from the depression and I'm hoping for a second chance. He says he's not ready for it yet (he's depressed at the moment) but I won't ever give up hope. |

My (boy) friend told me to listen this song and you know what's funny? At the moment, I'm in the middle of writing a story about a girl named Jayne who gets back in contact with her emotionally abusive dad. Just a funny coincidence, don't you think? |

First off, I just bought the Juno soundtrack yesterday (after looking out for it for about three years!) and this is the one I've listened to the most. It's one of my favourite songs from the movie (which are ALL great in their own ways) and it's my favourite scene too. When Juno cries, I cry.
I think this cover is not only about love for a woman's partner (let's say her boyfriend or husband) but also about the love for a newborn baby, which is perfect for Juno. |

| Maroon 5 – She Will Be Loved Lyrics

My interpretation of this (wonderful) song is a bit different than most people's. I believe it is about a man who has a friend or relative with autism or some other social impairment. The man supports her when she's down, maybe he's even her carer. He doesn't mind "spending everyday out on her corner in the pouring rain" if it makes her happy (errands, perhaps?) He takes care of her when she has her autistic meltdowns. And although she can't express emotion or communicate, "she will be loved". The man loves her no matter what.
Just my personal feeling. |
