@[PublicFailureNumberOne:29122] My wrong, I meant eleven as in age, not people. Also referring to the line "I've made my peace with cut and bruise a long time ago, used to be so small" |

This might be a bit of a stretch but could the title be referring to the eleven people Daniel writes about in the booklet on Remedy Lane for Second Love?
"We are eleven and she is the love of my life
But one week from now she will turn her back on me
Four years from now she will give me hope, then sleep with my best friend
Five years from now it is the two of us but by then there is nothing
left of this aching love and this soaring love.
But I don't know that now
Because we are eleven and she is the love of my life."

| Pain of Salvation – Beyond The Pale Lyrics

Based off of an interview Daniel made right after the release of In The Passing Light Of Day on spotify he mentioned the year 2001 as being a particularily rough one. If I were to be fairly specific about what happened in this song I guess his wife cheated on him several years prior "i remember when you said you've been under him - and all those years of being faithful to you despite the hunger flowing through my veins", and during perhaps touring The Perfect Element the following year brought him back to Budapest and one night his bitterness almost took over. In the end though he didn't do it based on the line "she's so young so why don't i feel free now that she is under me?". If you look in the booklet this song is set in 2001 (i think, been years since i looked it up, if I'm wrong then my mistake I guess). |

| Moddi – For an Unborn Lyrics

Years ago I asked Moddi about his interpretation of this song and this is what he wrote me:
"A boy in my class was fifteen when he got his first girlfriend. She was on the pill, or so she claimed, but was really only ever interested in having kids. So she lied, and he became a father at the age of sixteen. This song is about me being terrified of getting tricked the same way." |

| Moddi – One Minute More Lyrics

Years ago I asked Moddi about his interpretation of this song and this is what he wrote me:
"Usually I tend to write songs to get a specific thought OUT of my head (or rather structure it/even it out so i won't have to dwell on it anymore), but once you've recorded it, it follows you wherever you go. This particular song is a meta-song about how you can't sing yourself out of certain struggles. Sometimes you actually have to do something with your life, not just "think" the bad stuff away. That is why I don't perform this song anymore. It is, on many levels, OUT of my head, fortunately." |

i came here looking for an answer regarding the very ending "open your eyes, Nicolas".
in the very beginning you hear him driving off in the car, now they might trick you thinking this is Miracle, when actually the hypnotherapist tells him to open his eyes at the very beginning of the track. he drove off, still in some sort of disoluted mindset, thinking he was still Miracle, and ends the story by shooting two complete strangers in the present. and at the end returns home, that might be the reason for the news cast in the background, as well for the therapist to say once again "open your eyes, nicolas".
now i haven't taken the time to read everyone's thoughts and someone might have a whole 'nother story that fits a lot better than mine. |

when you shoot people refer to it as "chasing dragons", i believe that's where he's headed with the "jam another dragon down the hole". this one's definately about heroin use. thought i do believe the entire album is a concept of a twelve step program. |

"Promised Land is for me revaluation of my life, looking back at where i've been, and partly realising that what i thought was the brass of ring that was worth grabbing, is really not so great. that there are other things that is more important than success and what you do as a job."

| Devin Townsend – Things Beyond Things Lyrics

i know Devin at an early age was sent to a mental institution for a short period of time, do your think this song could be heading somewhere in that direction due to his experience there at the time ? "just like my friend, and i told you not to breathe" sounds like he's trying to kill his friend. i know this sounds obscure, and awfully random. I won't consider supporting this interpretation as much either. it was just for debating. i'm curious to know what the song actually is talking about.
I were to pick would happen to agree with ocean machine on this one, sounds like he's talking about bisexuality for males mainly. |

He actually cried in studio while singing the very last lines: "they buried him next to his bride, I held her hand as my mother cried, just a child of five". |

they opened up this album saying "not throwing stones at you anymore", later on, almost at the very end, he is refering someone for being a "bitch girl"? seriously I swear to God he's saying "beach girl", if any of you haven't met him personally where he is telling you otherwise, I stand by my statement. |

| Mnemic – What's Left Lyrics

seems to me this is about some kind of ravenous depature, "grab my heart before I'm gone". still, the song keeps relating to this person's past, "just try to feed my past". the lyrics are rally confusing, there may be a few pieces that's been held left from this person's pastlife, and are needed to be present, if not he'll be dismissively gone. and to me "gone" sounds like death, that he's suicidal. |

| Linkin Park – Waiting For The End Lyrics
| 15 years ago
|
somehow I was picturing some kind of drug addiction involved here.
- I know what it takes to move on
- it's hard to let you go
I think the "You" character is becoming more involved because today's music lyrically relates to a lot of metaphors, since people seem to be the one thing everyone have issues with.
- it's out of my control.
when you're addicted to drugs you're probably caught up in desperations, in which defines you "out of control".
- the hardest part of ending is starting again.
rehablitation requires a lot of courage, to end addiction to start independently.
correct me if I'm wrong. |

I think this song goes to the Press and media. since they're only a witness to what they want to see as they're glorifying the misperception with the "circles" of their debates, as if there's nothing achieved in the end. And by the time our ears are growing tired of listening to their constant recitals, as if all they do is watching for entertainment through their own distant land. |
