I always took it as more literal, namely the end of the song. As with all Cap'n Jazz songs, there are elements of youth to them. I understood the song as pre-teen to teenager's take on going to the zoo and examining life. I didn't find anything that lead me to believe it was about a significant other, but with a second look it seems possible. |

I don't think so, he was born in Seattle in 1968, but maybe 1962 just rhymes better. Maybe it's just the surname or something? |
