| Janelle Monáe – Cold War Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| I think the "cold War" that she's singing of is with society and all it's facets. The media is filled with bullshit designed to inhibit our creativity and keep us asleep while hypnotizing us to reject real artistry....The robotic persona comes from what the industry and the mainstream expect of her. It's expected that as an "artist (robot)" you conform to what's been programed and if you question or rebel against that, you're immediately labeled as strange or dis-functional. Miss Monae is one of the few real artist who clearly understands what side of the war she's fighting for. | |
| Lupe Fiasco – All The Way Turnt Up Lyrics | 15 years ago |

Lupe fiasco is hip-hop. He often makes references to how the industry tries to pay him off to dumb down his music and perpetuate the bullshit that traps young people in a lifestyle that leads to death. But clearly he is a man of his craft and a real artist. It's ironic how he gets on a song that's practically about nothin, "all the way turned up", and makes it something with substance. He's doing the registar while they just cook the fries!!.... |

"Ah but behold there is benevolence Behind this but don't stare though Be careful cause ill kill you With kindness" To me, this song signifies the ability to transform for the better while not forgetting what you have transformed from. The only thing keeping us from transforming or transcending is ourselves. Believing that you can do it is the beginning of your transformation. "If its between me and you, I aint dying I can transform, I can transform, I can transform Without even trying wow" This transformation is moving toward more life, not death. There is definitely a spiritual connotation throughout the entire album. Cee-lo is an awesome artist and I'm sure he understands the connection with his maker. |

You all have really interesting interpretations... I think this songs is about "inner feng shui". Having your inner self properly arrange will definitely project outwardly. I think we'd all benefit from a little inner OCD. |
