Elton John – Take Me To The Pilot Lyrics | 15 years ago |
We should not try discussing or questioning anyone's spiritual convictions in such an open forum, because that is our true self identity, our discovery through life's journey, and only we should know what this truly means. IT'S PRIVATE. PERIOD. Personally, I feel our believes and life's answers lie deep within us. Whenever life personal challenges us, we should find the answers from within.Find the "medium" to accomplish this, whether it be through nature, through music, through poetry that's the key. "Take me to the pilot of your soul" is the soul (personified) of Sir Elton's song: clearly and cleaverly it sums up a somewhat complex equation of our existance, the sum of our very being. "Who", or what force, is the driver (pilot) of our souls? We define this through time and by searhing to find the answers. SOme of us are fortunate to realize (during our lives, via self-actualization (Maslow), what our fully reach our true potential; this is the blueprint of our souls. When we set aside fear, we can be brave to define our truth. Once we reach a comfortable place with this journey, the rest comes naturally. Conviction of the heart is our true guide, our direct heading (moral compass) when we're faced with any challenges, both on the surface and from within. "The Human COndition" describes the joys and terrors of being humen. Once, or "if" we find our way back to our heart, the rest is magic. On a light note: No need to go much further. "Take Me To Your Pilot" is an awesome rock song! One of Sir Elton's less heard pieces. |
Kenny Loggins – This Is It Lyrics | 15 years ago |
This is about a questionable relationship waiting for a miracle to survive. “”We’d always survive, Now I’m so sure…” “Let him believe, Or leave him behind, But keep ME in your heart” Also, God is by your side, but either keep the relationship or move on… Very complex lyrics, so brutally honest and real to ourselves… |
Kenny Loggins – Danny's Song Lyrics | 15 years ago |
To me, this is the beginning to a never ending to a relationship. So pure, so real, so alive. Truth and honesty. Always giving back and never expecting nothing else but pure, real love. |
The Beatles – Blackbird Lyrics | 15 years ago |
*AWESOME!!!* The "Blackbird" in the song parallels our Human struggle/triumph of Life with a Bird learning how to Fly! "Take these broken wings and learn to fly. All your life, You were only waiting for this moment to arise" "Blackbird fly, blackbird fly." The song's complexity lies in the simplcity of the words. I.E. Conceptually, there's alot said in a little amount of words. I Always loved Paul McCartney & Wings as well as The Beatles. Their music really moves me. I can personally relate to this song. It's a mantra for all humankind. |
Cat Stevens – How Can I Tell You Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Cat Stevens is imaginarily walking alongside the girl he truly loves and has a deep connection with. He doesn’t seem to have the nerve to tell her though because I sense he is afraid of her saying “NO”, thus being rejected. His topic of True Love never grows old. It can be found in Classical Composers through the Contemporaries. We strive for this in ALL of our relationships, i.e., spirituality, friendship, family, and real lover/partner; True Love is the ultimate goal. We may not always be aware of this, but we are subconsciously seeking for this connection throughout our lives. |
Eric Clapton – Bell Bottom Blues Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Clapton romances his Fender Stratocaster (guitar), literally and figuratively, to profess his genuine love for the lucky woman. This is one of his "edgy" sounds that really hits deep down when you listen to it. His delivery of his emotions, via words and guitar liks, resound over and over again. The guy's a genius! "Sunshine Of Your Love" has always struck a chord for me - the same way. Yes, Clapton uses the word "Blus" on multpile levels, I.E. , for the song title and for his guitar style. Again - genius! I'm a vocalist and not a guitarist, still, I "feel" the emotions echo throughout this song. Emotion or feeling we can't fake. |
Eric Clapton – (I) Get Lost Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Sounds like the lover is lost inside his fear of losing his partner. Although he can't cry, he can feel her pain and her tears hurt him deep down inside. |
Pat Benatar – I Need A Lover Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Sort of Like Friends with Benefits?~? I admire Pat Benatar's gutsy vocal style and range. Still, I like John Cougar's version of this song (same title) better. |
Kenny Loggins – Meet Me Half Way Lyrics | 15 years ago |
*WOW* Awesome choice of words... "We are stronger when we are given love When we put emotions on the line Know that we are the timeless ones" When we put our emotions out there and we give true love, only then will we experience true love in return. It's (love's) a gamble, but its worth the wait adn the sacrifice. |
Kenny Loggins – The Real Thing Lyrics | 15 years ago |
The real thing seems so hard to find. But it's right times in front of you, if you only look into his eyes. Don't settle for less than the real thing that is love. It's always in your soul. |
Owl City – On The Wing Lyrics | 15 years ago |
*WOW* This song sooooo much reminds me of John Denver's lyyrics "Oh Calypso"!~! "Breathe and Ill carry you away into the velvet sky, And well stir the stars around" ..."The open summer breeze will sweep you through the hills, Where I live in the alpine heights" "I'm dreaming you are out in the blue and I am right beside you". "My darling, were both on the Wing, look down and keep on singing! And we can go anywhere..." I feel an Eagle is used to carry the Couple along the skies in a romantic journey "on the Wing". Their Love for One Another is Infinite and True. They can't believe their love is real: "Are you there? ...or are you just a decoy dream in my head? Am I home or am I simply tumbling all alone?" |
Linda Ronstadt – Someone To Lay Down Beside Me Lyrics | 15 years ago |
"But your love is a common ocurrence, not like love that I feel in my heart..." sums up this song exactly. Is it that we give in so quickly to ourselves for a "quick fix" that we don't feel real love will ever exist or don't trust our heart? Karla, the song writer, delivers a deeper, more hauting quality than Ronstadt. The original versions are always more edgy, more real then the next generations. Feeling is sometimes lost in translation. Karla shoots straight from the heart. "Help me make It Through The Night" by Kris Kristopherson follows the same logic. That song always got me. I coul feel the pain of loneliness in the words. ACoustic guitar is so vivid and so real to the song's ultimate meaning. |
