| Red Fang – Shadows Lyrics | 7 years ago |
| Sounds like a jealous guy to me. Beyond that, maybe the title has something to do with an idea of the jealous guy lurking in the shadows of his love. | |
| Red Fang – Wires Lyrics | 8 years ago |
| Sounds like a straight forward song about war or more a portrait of aspects of military life as told from a couple different perspectives. | |
| Masters Of Reality – 100 Years (Of Tears On The Wind) Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| I tend to agree with your assessment based on the lyrics. The song feels deeper than that though. Feels like the life of a man with a woman he is not happy to be with. Though, he remains with her...miserable. With that in mind, the lyrics and song title take on a different meaning to me. | |
| Bone Thugs-n-Harmony – Mo' Murda Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| I think it's about murdering people | |
| Queens of the Stone Age – Born To Hula Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
The version I know is from the Desert Sessions. Bignique posted the lyrics above. Sounds like a relationship to me. 1st verse- the beginning of the relationship. Guy and girl like each other and have to see each other all the time 2nd verse- a little into the relationship and a little turmoil. He's still crazy about her. As for her, not so much. 3rd verse- Guy is confused. She sending him mixed signals about how she feels, where she wants things to go in the relationship. The relationship is moving faster and faster. So I can see how Born to Hula to some may sound like a metaphor for sex with the hip movements of a hula hoop or hula dancing. But Born to Hula to me is more like we are born to do this dance in a relationship. The dance that is described in the verses. |

| Masters Of Reality – Major Lance Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Seems pretty obivously an anti-war theme here. Major Lance is the main character (military). Saying beauty lies between and amoung all things. Meaning, don't destroy things (or people) because the beauty lies among us all. | |
| Masters Of Reality – The Blue Garden Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
Sounds like a person going through or went through some tough times but describes hints of hope. I'll explain: The overall atmosphere is dark and sullen to me. With the instruments and vocals. Circle in the first verse to can be a cycle of something like addiction or pain. Light fell and spell broke would be the catalyst that breaks the circle. Come down on me - He's asking for the light to come down upon him Lightning came down and struck him. Think like a movie. Lightning striking someone and they fall in slow motion. The lightning, breaking the circle. The theme is carried forward in the next few lines- It's been a sad life as I stood holding the light to the dark. The eyes that seek me, the eyes that hold all the pain in the world. The last few lines, which aren't shown here but are in the song are, 'I saw a strange sign, an angel smiled in the red morning light.' Those lines to me, presenet a picture of someone that made it through a brutal storm overnight and now the clouds have broken and the song is beginning to shine through. Meaning, the circle has broken, the lightning has gone away, and a new hope is around the bend. |

| Masters Of Reality – Doraldina's Prophecies Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
The intro to the song from the album. Goss is speaking, not singing this part. 'Good morning. And I say, what a joy it to look ahead and read you signs of your future. So much happiness is in store for you, the most brilliantly lighted stars will be put to shame by the brightness of your light. Oh happiness, what an elusive thing you are, but thank god you were born beneath it's stars. Wanna hear more? Drop another coin in the slot and I will tell you more!' |

| Desert Sessions – Nova Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Yeah sounds like a dude that just doesn't really care anymore about something (not sure what that some thing is) and is having a good time now (by drinking booze). Has sort of a darker tone than the lyrics would imply because of the chord structure. I love this song though. Only has about 10 different lines throughout but says so much. Like a lot of the QoTSA and Desert Sessions songs. | |
| Queens of the Stone Age – Avon Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Seems pretty obvious to me that it's about not living as an individual. And Josh is the 3rd party observer of what's happening. In the first verse, you have, 'through a park in a haze - traffic going the same way.' Metaphor for following the masses (traffic) without much thought (haze). Then, the ending line, 'a simple system.' Metaphor for society aka the masses. In the second verse, you have, 'free range humans all cooped up' and 'naked clone is playing lame.' Comparing mindless humans to mindless chickens going through the motions in life. Not living an aware, active life. | |
| Black Sabbath – Iron Man Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I interpret the lyrics more literally than you did. Sounds like a dude turned to steel in a magnetic field, tried to save people in his current time after seeing the world in chaos in the future. They don't care, he turns around and destroys them. BUT, you do have a nice take on it. Hey, whatever works for you. As long as you don't say they're talking about the Ironman comic book, it's all good. | |
| Ungdomskulen – Modern Drummer Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Pretty obvious from the lyrics that the dude is enthralled with a drummer. I prefer to take the lyrics on a metaphorical level and apply it in more general terms. Song is hot to death. Okay album. I'm not a fan of extended sections throughout songs and they tend to that a lot. | |
