| Fall Out Boy – Save Rock and Roll Lyrics | 12 years ago |
|
THIS SONG MAKES ME HYPERVENTILATE Also it provided me with the BEST moment of my life; when, during their smaller tour (Mine was on May 31, 2013), they played this song and during the "Oh no/We won't go/We don't know when to quit no" verse, they all stood up (well they all were besides Andy but he stood up) and Andy raised his drumsticks and they were chanting "We don't know when to quit, no" and that's when my heart BURST Anyways to me this song is clearly about their hiatus and journey back. I mean, when they were creating this album, it was all very secretive and nobody knew. They didn't know if anyone would care about them anymore or like the material they were producing, but they pushed forth anyways. (THANK THE LORD) Like: "I cried tears you'll never see So fuck you You can go cry me an ocean and leave me be" That's them being like "will anyone care?" and then being like "this is for us." "You are what you love, not who loves you" Phenomenal lyric, let me just say. It makes me want to chew crushed up bricks until my heart stops hurting...if that makes sense?? Anywhooo, this is representative of being true to yourself. You're what you make yourself, not what others want you to be. "No no Wherever I go go Trouble seems to follow I only plugged in to save rock and roll" "Trouble" is the media/gossip, which they aren't aiming for. They don't want the fame, they want to produce music that they're proud of and that will inspire their fans (mission accomplished). "We don't know when to quit no" I think this is pretty self-explanatory. |

| Fall Out Boy – Miss Missing You Lyrics | 12 years ago |
|
I think this song is dedicated to the people Pete loves. I mean, it's evident in the first lyric: "Don't panic/No not yet" This may just be my inner fangirl coming out, but I think it's a reference to Panic! at the Disco, a band that Pete discovered and is fairly chummy with, especially considering they opened up for FOB on their latest US tour. The rest, disregarding the first snippet, reminds me of someone he loved but it wasn't mutual anymore. Who that could be...I'm not one to say. But this lyric is pretty convincing: "Baby you were my picket fence I miss missing you now and then" What really convinces me of this is the graphics displayed when they (FOB) were touring. At their arena tour, when this song was being performed, there was a projection going on behind them of a suburban looking house with a crisp, clean picket fence out front. They're perfect together, a good pair. It's idealistic...picket fences and houses go well together. But then, the picket fence catches on fire. That's symbolizing the loss. The picket fence gets destroyed in front of the house's eyes and leaves it behind...yet the house still needs its protection. The house is somewhat damaged without it, as Pete felt when he was abandoned by someone/thing and in turn wrote this song about it |

| Fall Out Boy – Better Than This (Rat A Tat) feat. Courtney Love Lyrics | 12 years ago |
|
First things first, the song title is incorrect. It's just called "Rat a Tat" featuring Courtney Love. One thing I'd like to point out is the lyric "Are you ready for another bad poem?" The almost-last songs on their past 3 albums have had verses by Pete Wentz in which they were delivered almost in a prose-type way. This is him poking fun at those emotionally driven speeches, calling them "bad poems" and noting that he is a creature of habit in that sense. However, this chain is broken in this album when he simply acknowledges the past habit, which reminds me of the "My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light em up)" music video in which their old albums are burning, symbolic of the "old" Fall Out Boy. Also, when they came back together, they released a statement that included: "The future of Fall Out Boy starts now." So in essence, this lyric is demolishing what happened in the past by poking a little fun at it but acknowledging its presence. I may have just analyzed the shiiiiiiit out of that, but I wouldn't be shocked if Pete Wentz did put all of that thought towards one line. |

| Fall Out Boy – Hum Hallelujah Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| I'm fairly sure this song is about Pete's suicide attempt, as he did note that when he attempted suicide he was in a parking lot listening to the song "Home Hallelujah". | |
| Anthony Green – Dear Child (I've Been Dying To Reach You) Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
When analyzing this song, my first thought was that this was written from a teen dad's point of view about the mom, who is now broken up with, keeps their child away from him even though he loves his child. And then, the reunion between him and his long lost child. "I'm weary, I'm not quite rested yet"- Referencing to how in the first few weeks after a child is born, they are up at all hours and the parents get no sleep. And since he's not been allowed to see his child, he's been up stressed about it so he's not rested, and won't be until he sees him/her. "I've been trying to reach you, but my extension cord wouldn't reach that far"- He wanted to reach out, but the "extension cord"- aka the mother- wouldn't let him. "I've been patiently waiting; the indicator light is flashing on"- He wants to see his child "Dear sleeper, you could have had the better bed"- How he feels he would have been a better parent than the mother but was unrightfully written off. In teenage pregnancies, the fathers often get a bad rap for being deadbeats and not caring about the child, but he's the opposite in this situation. "I loved to watch the way you grew" - He loved to see his child grow and develop. He loves his child. "We've been treading air"- the reunion of father and child That's just my way of seeing it. I could be way off, but that's my two cents. |

| Fall Out Boy – From Now On We Are Enemies Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
I think this song is about FOB taking a break, and possibly not being happy about what they've done with the band so far. "I'm just a man on the balcony singing, 'Nobody will ever remember me'." could be referring to them no feeling sufficent in the music industry, like they aren't making their mark. "Lunatic of a god or god of a lunatic?" could be referring to them constantly touring and recording albums, nonstop. Doing this just sets a band up for self destruction, so they are asking, "Are we crazy for moving so fast, or can we handle it?" "Their faces are dancing, they're dancing, til they can't stand it." could possibly be meaning the fans. "Their faces are dancing" could mean the fans enjoying music, and at concerts, the joy in fans eyes of seeing them play live. And the "til they can't stand it" could be referring to the music style of FOB changing, and how some fans aren't fans anymore because they do not enjoy, or they can't stand, the music FOB is now producing. "A composer but never composed." means, simply, that they compose their own lyrics and music- but they can't compose themselves due to all of the chaos. "I only want what I can't have." about them wanting to take a break, but not being able to because of their large fanbase- they don't want to let them down. I could be totally off, but that's my point of view. |

| Fall Out Boy – (Coffee's for Closers) Lyrics | 16 years ago |

This song is politically based. The part in which it reads "We will never believe again" means that they put their faith into Bush and he let them down. And "Oh change will come, I will never believe in anything again" means that the change, clearly is Obama getting elected into office. But they don't want to be let down again, so they refuse to believe. And the part "Doesn't care about anyone or anything" refers to Bush and how they believe that Bush didn't care, he just wanted to have the title of president. |

| Fall Out Boy – I Slept with Someone in Fall Out Boy and All I Got Was This Stupid Song Written About Me Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
This song is making fun of posers in the line "I'm the first kid to write of hearts, lies, and friends" because many artists feel they are original by writing about "hearts, lies, and friends" which is not true. And it is also making fun of immature people, with the line "I found the cure to growing older" which is, simply, staying immature forever. And the stanza: Someone old No one new Feeling borrowed always blue Someone old No one new Always borrowed Always you Pokes fun at the fear of commitment. It is basically a song dedicated to putting people in their place. |

| Fall Out Boy – Pavlove Lyrics | 16 years ago |

The part "I want to make you as lonely as me, so you can get, get, addicted to this" refers to artists lyrics being negatiive, and making you feel alone as if you have nobody. Feeling alone means you want something to comfort you, most likely the artist that produced the song that made you feel alone in the first place. |
