Does it seem like the lyrics are reflective of the emotions and memories that are portrayed in the lyrics to "Haushinka" and "Whatsername"? "I gotta know if you're the one that got away Even though it was never meant to be" The above lyrics seem to piece with the following lyrics from the two other Green Day songs: "Did she know, did she know, before she went away, does she know? But it's too damn late This girl has gone far away. Now she's gone." ("Haushinka") "Seems that she disappeared with out a trace [and the entire song is about wondering about her]" ("Whatsername") There seems to be this related lingering feeling of "What if...?" in some of these songs. There's always that ONE person in our life where we can't help but wonder if things had gone differently because they've made so much of an impression on you... It would make sense that these songs are related, but who knows for sure. |

I kind of agree with you about the music industry bit. To me Doncamatic sort of sounds like a lot of the music we hear on the radio today. A lot of the songs that have taken over the airwaves have that same run-of-the-mill pop sounds in them like the auto-tunes and other effects.. It's "all played out." Originality is lacking in the pop music world. |
