Beautifully sung. Pecknold's morbid obsessiveness adds quite a stunning beauty to his music. I hope it's just a theme for the album though and not a running theme in his material (see also: Muse's obsession with THE END OF THE WORLD, etc). By the way, try 'Rustling leaves'. Don't thank me. |

I think 'the winded breeze' is 'the wind, it breathes'. (oops - didn't mean to reply to spacegame's post) |

Not 'die', but 'dive'. Hummingbird, just let me dive inside the broken ovals of your olive eyes |

| Fleet Foxes – Your Protector Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
LyricWiki says: "She left a week to roam, Your protector's coming home. Keep your secrets with you girl, safe from the outside world. You walk along the stream, Your head caught in a waking dream, Your protector's coming home, coming home. As you lay to die beside me, baby, On the morning that you came. Would you wait for me? The other one would wait for me. As you lay to die beside me, baby, On the morning that you came. Would you wait for me? The other one would wait for me. You run with the devil. You run with the devil. Tell your brother to be good, Tell your sister not to go, Tell your mother not to wait, Tell your father I was good. As you lay to die beside me, baby, On the morning that you came. Would you wait for me? The other one would wait for me." ...and I agree. |
