To me this makes more sense as a song about death, cause i thought the "haven't been the worst" wouldn't make sense if they were breaking up. but now it makes sense and it sounds like he is rethinking his behaviour and how careless he was not appreciating the time they had together so he wants the person not to die so he has a second chance. now this song makes me cry. |

He can't reach her. She is difficult. And she can't understand him. There is miscommunication between them. So they can't meet mentally. They are separated and there is no use in tryingto find to each other. So they will stay alone and not try to be in a relationship. That's my take on the song. Don't know what the analogies of the rocks and broken bones are for, maybe they represent the arguments they had. The rose maybe represents their love, the good times, that he will remember and cherish. |

Why has nobody commented on this?? Such an amazing song. So sad and so beautiful! For me the song is about the midst of a break up. Anything could happen, it ois unsure what will come next. But surely it will be bad. It hurt when she left but there was no other solution. There were misunderstandings. He can't see her without being torn apart. It is up to them what will happen next, he will let her decide. She didn't seem to be hurt by leaving him. They don''t have time to work on the relationship. And he hates her guts for it and could kill her, if only he wasn't so depressed/fatigued. |
