| SBTRKT – Never Never Lyrics
|
"It's complicated when you gravitate towards yourself.
On the other hand it's hard to talk to anyone else.
You can't help-can't help where your mind goes.
So lets' harvest on the moon with the autumn snow."
This could apply to any relationship whether it be a daughter and her father, etc. But I'm just going to go ahead and apply this to a relationship. During a breakup (maybe they've done something terrible, maybe they haven't), especially if you're the dumpee, it's very hard to focus oneself when all you can think about is how much everything is your fault. Picking up on what RiceThongs has said about harvesting on the moon, it is about afterwards not putting forth the work into someone/something that's not going to gain anything but heartache.
"Cause I've never, never had so much to gain and threw it all away.
And if I ever, ever had the chance again I'd probably do the same.
Singing ooooh, I've only let you down.
Singing ooooh, I've left you the crown."
Now, maybe the person has realized what they think or what they know they did wrong. Now, the person is still trying to revive that relationship but in doing so it's pushing that person away further. If they accpeted the situation and let it be, then there would be something to salvage. But, they know trying to get back into this there is a high chance of it happening again if it has already happened once. He/She left them their pride, their emotions, their feeling, everything-----the crown because they have the power.
"Open up open up to see your, see your face,
Watching yourself in your dreams like wide awake.
Hoping hoping you'll return my calls.
Convince myself on my health that it's not my fault."
The first two lines could refer to he/she dreaming of the relationship at it's peak and comparing themselves to what's now. Or possibly opening them to tell them what did and how to change it. It's upsetting. He/She calls and calls and they really want to make it work. It's draining them (depression, stress, etc), and at this point it's very hard to prove to themselves that it's not their fault
"See I've never never had so much to gain or had so much to lose.
And if I ever ever get past the shame and get through the bruises.
Singing oooh I'll never let you down.
Singing oooh I never left the crown."
He wants to start everything over. Maybe not with them, but with themselves. They are now ashamed of what they became and what they had to do to try and make someone happy and sacrifice their own (crown part earlier). So in the end, they vow if they ever get through their current pain maybe this will prove to the person their pining for that they have changed. They will then see themselves taking control of whatever they gave that person because it's theirs (I never left the crown)
It's a really nice song to listen to especially late at nights or when thinking... |

| Little Dragon – Paris Lyrics

This song, in my opinion, seems to be about the lost of someone and how the person is coping with the loss. They are deciding not to dwell and fester in sorrow, but to change, become a better person, and move on. Instead of going back to where they use to be, they go to the place they always dreamed of going. In this case, Paris. Or course things feel weird without them...In the end it's signifying that they don't necessarily need them in order to continue living life..or that they can survive without them--they are strong on their own. |

| Ellie Goulding – Explosions Lyrics

If you've ever heard of the song "Dreams" by Fleetwood Mac it would pretty much get the same general, if not exact, meaning I think. It seems to be about someone who's left and has caused the other to feel extremely hurt. She/He is letting them go slowly and hoping they they find peace. The "explosions" signify a time when they may might feel the same pain they're going through and they might one day need them just as much as they did or do... But if they try to go back to what made them okay, in context the person they left, it won't be the same. |

This is song is really beautiful. This song is about a person trying to get someone back, I think. Possibly he knows how much he's hurt her and doesn't want that to happen again. He can't set her free from him, only she can and if she needs anything he'll be there to guide her. That's what I think IMO. |

The cello and violin in this is just gorgeous! But, I think the song is about a son who wants to leave and explore things but his mom is afraid she'll end up like his father. He's telling her that he is his own erosion and that she's being too dramatic about it. |

There is nothing wrong with the lyrics. It's fine the way it is. I also believe this song is about life and how sometimes you may need help. Wearing your heart on a sleeve and trying to find someone that truly understands you. |

I agree it is a catchy tune. I didn't even like it at first, granted that the singing is a bit mediocre |

This is my favorite AM song! This song would always get me so energized. I think this song is about a guy named Brian who uses woman for his own personal gain. But hey that's my opinion.I can sort of relate to the song a bit.:3
Also as for the article:
"When asked to say a little about the song's protagonist, Alex Turner replied, "I can't remember Brian now... I don't know if he were in my imagination or what... it's a blank spot in my brain... I think that's what he [Brian] wanted."[6] He later explained in NME that Brian had been a guy that they had met backstage in the band's dressing room at a gig at Studio Coast "Ageha" in Tokyo Japan, and that "When he left the room, we were a bit in awe of his presence. So we did a brainstorm for what he was like, drew a little picture and wrote things about him," while guitarist Jamie Cook added "He was right smooth, very LA. He just appeared with like a business card and like a round neck T-shirt and a tie loosely around it, I'd never seen that before. It felt like he was trying to get inside your mind. We were checking out his attire; it inspired us."" |

| The Rocket Summer – She's My Baby Lyrics

I think it's about this guy who's been through a lot. He's growing up and he can't go back to relive the past that was so good to him, because his life sucks and he hates it. But, through it all he still has his baby, and she will still stayed with him thorough it all.
I listen to this song all the tome even though it has nothing to do with me. It's really beautiful. |

The song reminds me of a warm summer's day and how anything can happen. It also reminds me of all the friends I knew when I was really small and how things changed and how everyone changed. Everyone is in school heading towards he same direction: to finish. Then once we finish we head to a different direction: our direction. Everyone is finding love also...So I, think it's basically about growing up and all the adventures you'll probably find no matter where you go. ;) |
