Prince – Get Yo Groove On Lyrics 15 years ago
I don't understand the part about Stevie Wonder; He CAN'T see!

Prince – Get Loose Lyrics 15 years ago
For those of you not familiar, this is the remix version that was re-recorded for the "Crystal Ball" compilation in '98. The original version was just simply called "Loose!" & was on the "Come" CD in '94. Come to think of it, the exact same thing happened to the song, "Dark".

Prince – Forever in My Life Lyrics 15 years ago
I agee; I love how Prince & the band played it together with all the members on the stage while the music was prerecorded. Sheila E. had never looked better!

Prince – Forever in My Life Lyrics 15 years ago
I agree; I love how Prince & the band played it together with all the members dancing on the stage while the music was prerecorded. Sheila E. had never looked better!

If I have to explain these lyrics to you, you're obviously too young to be listening to Prince!

Prince – Fascination Lyrics 15 years ago
Definitely the best track on the "Truth" CD!

Prince – Face Down Lyrics 15 years ago
As much as I love Prince, I hate it when he tries to rap, such as in this song. About the only good rap I ever heard him do was in "Gett Off" & that's about it! I can't believe I recently saw an official video for this song on IMEEM.

Prince – Everyday Is a Winding Road (Sheryl Crow cover) Lyrics 15 years ago
Prince's version of this song was on the '99 CD, "Rave unto the Joy Fantastic"; I like Sheryl Crow's version better, but Prince still gives her a good run for this track.

Prince – Escape Lyrics 15 years ago
Though this song was recorded during sessions for "Lovesexy" in '88, it actually sounds like something from "Graffiti Bridge", considering the club Prince's character played at was called "The Glam Slam".

submissions
Prince – Erotic City Lyrics 15 years ago
This song was originally on the b-side to the single for "Let's Go Crazy"; About the closest this world will ever come to having an "Erotic City" will probably be Vegas!

Prince – Emancipation Lyrics 15 years ago
Prince had just left his record company, Warner Bros. in early '96, & started his own label by releasing the 3-part album, "Emancipation". This being the title track says it all- He's finally free to do whatever he wants!

Prince – Emale Lyrics 15 years ago
Possibly the first song to mention anything at all about the internet!

submissions
Prince – Elephants and Flowers Lyrics 15 years ago
I'm not sure what the meaning is, but this is one of my favorite tracks from the "Graffiti Bridge" soundtrack; The movie got a lot of criticism, & I'll agree it was not as good as "Purple Rain", but it was still better than the reviews it received.

Prince – Electric Chair Lyrics 15 years ago
This is my personal favorite track from the "Batman" soundtrack. Only a very small portion of it was played in the movie, but Prince's guitar riffs & guitar solos on this song are out of this world!

Prince – Dreamin' About U Lyrics 15 years ago
One of Prince's sexiest songs yet! Also one of the best tracks from "Emancipation". It's sexy in a very classy way.

Prince – Don't Talk 2 Strangers Lyrics 15 years ago
Chaka Khan later covered this song; Of course, her biggest hit, "I Feel for You" was originally by Prince as well. This version was on the soundtrack album to the movie "Girl 6".

Prince – Do Me, Baby Lyrics 15 years ago
It's songs like this that gave the parent album "Controversy" its name! At the time (1981) nobody had heard anything like it!

Prince – Do Me, Baby Lyrics 15 years ago
No offense, but that's hilarious! That reminds me of the time I went to church with one of my friends, & right in the middle of the sermon this guy's cell phone goes off to the ringtone of "Laffy Taffy" by D4L. If you're not familiar with it, it's an obscene rap song that was big about 3 years ago. Picture this: The preacher is shouting, "God loves you, Jesus loves you, & one day we'll all be in Heaven!" Then out of the blue comes "Shake that Laffy Taffy! Shake that Laffy Taffy, girl!" Perfect song for a church setting! (Ha ha!)

Prince – Dirty Mind Lyrics 15 years ago
If I have to explain it to you, you're obviously too young to be listening to Prince! The parent CD of the same name was one of the first albums to feature a warning label due to its lyrical content.

Prince – Diamonds and Pearls Lyrics 15 years ago
I understand it's a love song, but I don't understand why he says, "Would you be a happy boy or a girl?" Can someone please explain that line to me? That must be how all those gay rumours got started.

Prince – Delirious Lyrics 15 years ago
Yes! Classic Prince! Before the weird symbol & his negotiation with Youtube, you had songs like this one! Does anyone know if he did a music video for this song? I know it was a huge hit for him in the 80's.

Prince – Days Of Wild Lyrics 15 years ago
This song was recorded live so Prince could motivate the crowd into believing these are the days where anything goes in Prince's career. (And basically, everything did!) "Free the Slave" was his way of protesting against Warner Bros., his then record company.

Prince – Darling Nikki Lyrics 15 years ago
It's funny how in the movie "Purple Rain" Prince's character caught heat for playing this song in that night club, yet in real life a lot of "Prince" fans actually love it!

Prince – Dark Lyrics 15 years ago
This song was originally from the "Come" album in '94, & later remixed for the '98 compilation, "Crystal Ball"- Retitled as "So Dark".

Prince – Damn U Lyrics 15 years ago
He's not insulting her; What he basically means is "Damn girl, you're fine!" It's like a guy telling his girlfriend, "Hey baby, you're my bitch!" It sounds somewhat like an insult, but it's not.

Prince – D.M.S.R. Lyrics 15 years ago
For those of you not familiar with this song, it was an obscure cut on the "1999" album, & later featured in the movie, "Risky Business". DMSR says it all- Dance, Music, Sex, Romance! In my opinion, this is an awesome party song, & it should have been a hit but probably wasn't because it came out in '82, & back then you could only say the word "sex" in a song only so many times, plus the parts where he says "Strip down to your underwear", "Screw the masses", "Wear a lingerie to a restaurant", & "Work your body like a whore" were probably too edgy for the radio back then. Also, the song is 8 minutes long, but with the right amount of editing that wouldn't have been a huge obstacle. My only criticism is the end where a girl in the background shouts, "Somebody help me"- I don't understand that part. Could someone please explain that to me.....?

Prince – Crucial Lyrics 15 years ago
This song was recorded for "Sign of the Times", but missed the final cut, as was replaced by "Adore"; It was later on the "Crystal Ball" compilation.

Prince – Cream Lyrics 15 years ago
Prince at his best! This is one of my favorite songs to sing to girls in karaoke bars! It's sexy, energetic, it was a #1 hit, the video for it was hot, & it's perfect to dance to! This song & "Purple Rain" are undoubtingly my 2 favorite "Prince" songs!

Prince – Calhoun Square Lyrics 15 years ago
I wonder if there's really a such place as Calhound Square; Either way I love this song, especially when the tempo picks up at the end of each verse & Prince fires up his guitar; He is possibly the most underrated guitarist there is!

Prince – Black Sweat Lyrics 15 years ago
This song was a full-force comeback for Prince! The parent CD, "3121" was his first CD to hit #1 in the US (My homeland) since the "Batman" soundtrack in '89.

submissions
Prince – Batdance Lyrics 15 years ago
There is no true meaning to this song; It's just numerous quotes taken from the movie, "Batman" (The 'Michael Keaton' version; Not the recent one), along with reprised lyrics from the first 2 songs on the soundtrack album. However, my favorite part of this song is Prince's guitar solo, right before the tempo slows down in the middle.

Prince – Batdance Lyrics 15 years ago
Sadly, Prince signed a deal with Youtube in 2007 for them not to display any of his music videos- His worst mistake since he changed his name to a sign!

Prince – Baby, I'm a Star Lyrics 15 years ago
This is one of my favorite songs from "Purple Rain", & definitely one of his best in concert, but where did those backwards lyrics come from? Was Prince trying to send some kind of subliminal messages to his fans? Kind of like Led Zepplin's "Stairway to Heaven" or the Beatles' "Revolution #9".

Prince – Automatic Lyrics 15 years ago
One of Prince's sexiest songs ever! It's a 10-minute song about what else? SEX! Everytime I hear it I feel like I'm on a spaceship, but lyrically it's about sex!

Prince – America Lyrics 15 years ago
The beginning of this song (Not lyrically but instumentally) sounds very similar to his other song "Baby I'm a Star", when played in concert on the "Live" home video from back in '85.

Prince – Alphabet St. Lyrics 15 years ago
I agree with you, Little lover403; I never understood why it was written like that. However, I noticed the part where Prince says, "To Tennessee" was sampled at the end of the song, "Tennessee" by Arrested Development.

I love the video to this song; I think it's the only one in which all the members of Prince's band sing. It's funny how back in '99, so many people predicted the world was going to end, & now here we are 10 years later.....

Prince – 17 Days Lyrics 15 years ago
Instead of just buying the 2 "Hits" CDs that Prince did in '93, I bought the 3-CD set that included the bonus disc that featured the rare tracks. This one was my personal favorite. It was originally the b-side to the single for "When Doves Cry". I personally thought this song should have been a commercial hit for Prince; It has a commercial feel to it. If I were his manager, I would have put this song on the album that followed, "Around the World in a Day", rather than making it a "rare track". Rare tracks aren't supposed to be this good!

Kenny Chesney – Everybody Wants To Go To Heaven Lyrics 15 years ago
These lyrics are hilarious..... Because they're true! Kenny's songs always have the most interesting lyrics! Few people know it, but this song was originally written for George Strait while recording the "Troubador" album, but missed the final cut.
