"Fastlove" is written about George's brief love affair with city banker Brett Charles whom he met in kazakhstan while writing.
Will have to look out for Fastlove Part II, that was news to me! |

| George Michael – Jesus to a Child Lyrics

In November 1994, at the first edition of the MTV European Music Awards George Michael appeared after a long seclusion, giving a touching performance of a brand-new song, "Jesus to a Child". The song was a melancholy tribute to his lover Anselmo Feleppa, a Brazilian dress designer who had died in March 1993 of a brain haemorrhage. The exact identity of the song's subject — and the nature of George's relationship with Anselmo — was shrouded in innuendo at the time, however, as Michael had not confirmed he was gay, and did not do so until 1998.
The video for "Jesus to a Child" was a beautiful picture of images recalling loss, pain, and suffering. Nowadays, Michael consistently dedicates the song to Feleppa before performing it live. George dedicated the album Older to the memory of Anselmo, who had been known publicly as a "close pal" of the singer, was in fact George's partner of two years, a gay relationship kept hidden from his fans. "I outed myself with Older," says George. "I did interviews that said everything except the three words they wanted to hear. I was trying to retain my privacy and dignity without lying."

Kelly has explained this at numerous live gigs as just being about something that stops you in your tracks and makes you realize what you've got - Namely the 7/7 bombings |

| Stereophonics – Is Yesterday, Tomorrow, Today? Lyrics

The title is apparently from something Kelly heard a little boy ask his mum, I think perhaps when he was in a waiting room, and it got him thinking. In Kelly's words "Its not what the songs about, but I thought it was cool'. Having spent a lot of time thinking about chronology, the title is surely a misnomer tho. Not wanting to pick holes, but surely it should be correctly titled 'Is Today Tomorrow Yesterday?' |

Apparently this song was written in about 30 minutes whilst they were staying in a hotel in Paris (think they said the hotel sucked). Still, some of the most successful songs ever were written quickly like that (ie Song 2 - Blur) |

Awesome, everyones quoting the exact same explanation Kelly gave on the 2007 tour. Think he said he wrote this song a long time ago, when he was still quite young. If thats true I wonder why its laid dormant all those years. Doesnt it make you wish songwriters would lift the lid a little more often like this... Perhaps if they did though we'd have nothing to talk about! |

I reckon the song 'Doorman' is about when Kelly was ejected after performing at an awards ceremony (see my post on that song). Consequently I wonder if 'Brother' is inspired by the bloke who started laying into him whilst that was happening |

This is surely about when Kelly got ejected after performing at an awards ceremony for being discovered in the womens toilets. He claims he was just checking on his girlfriend, but the doormen were particularly heavy handed. As he was being ejected someone in the queue outside the club started launching abuse at him and the other band memebers. A fight broke out and Kelly ended up with a gashed elbow after (apparently caused by broken glass). Loads of pictures of this on Google Images. I wonder if the song Brother is written about the bloke who shouted abuse at him ('You walk right up to me, Abuse me on the street, Like a cannonball killing me') Just a theory |

| Stereophonics – I Stopped To Fill My Car Up Lyrics

Saw The Phonics at Nottingham last week and Kelly introduced this song, and said it was about a time they stopped to fill up the car and when they got back in there was a man with a gun in the back of the car. Id always assumed due to the afforementioned get-out at the end that this didnt actually happen. But the way Kelly was talking this really did happen |
