| Chevelle – Leto's Headache Lyrics | 7 years ago |
| Pretty sure the guy who said Jared Leto has something to do with it is right. Unless there's a Lennon character in the Dune series... In 2007, Jared Leto played Mark David Chapman in "Chapter 27", the guy who shot John Lennon. | |
| Lana Del Rey – Bel Air Lyrics | 12 years ago |

Belair is another name for Satan. This song is about the worship and her love of Satan. -Gargoyles at the front of his gate, check -She runs to heaven's door because she is mad at him, that's about the best way to get at 'im -Her bad baby has a flare for the violentest type of love, yup he sure does -He comes to her at night. Night since ancient times has been when the stirrings of evil occur. -Speaking directly to Belair, asking him to take her there -Finds her lover to be "divine" -Something about resurrection -I know your name, lead me to war? Ooook... Or maybe it's just about Axl Rose, lol. |

| Wolfmother – Colossal Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| Seems fairly clearly about psychedelics and nature to me. And a woman. | |
| Wolfmother – Pyramid Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| I hate to be the conspiracy kook, but I think the title is an illuminati reference. For those unfamiliar, the structure of a pyramid is a key part in illuminati symbolism and stands for the idea of a system of top-down control. Ancient calling, empires falling, and lyrics such as, "Oh I'm looking for a hidden meaning," cause me to view Wolfmother almost as anti-illuminati and a force of good and love. ;-) | |
| Wolfmother – Far Away Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| Inspiring. To quote Bill Hicks, "Infinite love is the only truth, everything else is only illusion." The song is vague enough that you could make it out to be about just about anything; relationships, subliminal messages to bandmates, or just his audience; or even that the entire universe is taking place only in his mind, and his realization is that love will live on forever. Whatever the case may be, love is the theme, and the most powerful human emotion - or at least, the most powerful I've ever felt. | |

| My favorite Wolfmother track. I love to jam to it while staring up into the stars late at night. | |
| Wolfmother – 10,000 Feet Lyrics | 12 years ago |
|
I think that song is about a time-traveler, possibly Stockdale himself. He's come from 10,000 feet (outer space - well, not quite), to watch castles turn into the sand. The current biggest castle of all is the White House, with its past Kings Bush and Obama sitting on their throne; wherever they go, a procession follows, with food-tasters, hairdressers, and a red carpet, just as the Kings of old. The current Tyrant in his Kingdom is Obama, though certainly every president since Grover Cleveland has been one. Even the people so small, you and I, want to see this system of injustice and the tyrant fall. The bits about love are meant to be uplifting. You can be anything you want, this time - this time in your life. A reincarnation theme. I especially like any reference to Time, something that humans may never grasp, and I certainly struggle to wrap my mind around Time as the 4th dimension. "Somehow the machine prevailed, another tyrant's tale It's only kingdoms a turning, watching the factories burning Even the mountain so tall, will see the tyrant fall, oh yeah" Since this song came out in late 2009, it's possible it was written/recordered around the time Obama was elected. And it is true: we will see the tyrant, the United States government, fall. It is inevitable and true of every empire. The current currency crisis and Bitcoin give me hope we will see the USD collapse and no longer used as the world's reserve currency, at which point shortly after, no matter how large the United States military presence with bases in countries throughout the world, will fall. The final lines are uplifting. Take time time to enjoy what is a relatively prosperous time for those people not living in poverty in 3rd world countries. You've got it pretty good. Remember to spread love. Love is eternal, in time. Just my 2c. |

| TRUSTCompany – Retina Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Recently went to a TrustCO show in Florida. This is by far my fave TrustCO song and my ex and I shouted Retina so loud that they took our request at the end. :) Err, this is song meanings, not storys about bands, so: I don't think there's any deep meaning to this song or anything. Kevin said that they fought the record label over this song a lot, but not sure if that was before or after this recording of it. Either way, you can feel the emotion behind it. And it's one of those songs that is vague enough that it's not about any one experience. I would describe it, however, as one person's bitter view of a past event that they are trying to move on from. |
