Wow, can't believe no one's commented on this song yet. It's very surprising. I think that this song is brilliant...it so perfectly displays the darker side of love, where it starts to cross over into something completely different, something obssessive, possessive. To the point where he will have her, regardless of what she thinks or wants. Like the song says: Decide - either live with me Or give up - any thought you have of being free I feel that that is the groundwork of the song, the feeling, but there is action as well: Stay inside the hole,let me take control.(dominate) You were nothing more,you were something less(innocent) Something had to give,something had to break(omnipresent) Fingers on your skin,let my savage in.(you deserve it) The way I see it, that shows that she tried to escape from him, but he wouldn't let her..."letting his savage in" and justifying it by her deserving it. And the end of the song sums it up quite nicely..."You're mine." |

| I haven't quite gotten a whole interpretation of it yet, but it seems to play a lot on the lines between love and lust...like someone wants to be in love with someone, but they feel lust instead, and don't want to change that because they are "in love with" that lust. As for the interpretations of rape and the girl being a virgin, that just doesn't sit quite right with me...it feels like the woman is as guilty as the man. The virgin Mary part could be an ironic reference to chastity, and how far they've "undone" that religious bind. | |

I agree with most of you, I think this song is about obsession...over a girl. To the point where there is nothing else that matters, and to the point where it is actually affecting his mental health... "And dreaming I'm alive" If you look at the actual definition of "hysteria", it's a condition that often involves overreactive emotional responses to the point where it can cause hallucinations. Basically, he's being driven insane by his lust for this girl. That's what I get out of it. |

This song is very, very close to me...because it brought me back to God...I had lost sight of Him completely and my sister had me listen to this...and we had a vision of Him holding me in His arms and wrapping me in His wings, and I just started crying. The song is sung from God's point of view. "Despite the lies that you're makin Your love is mine for the taking" This shows how we try to deny our love for God, try and leave Him, to abandon Him...the rest of the lyrics are almost all comforting, Him telling us that we're not alone, that He is here to comfort us...if we would only come to Him for that comfort...not only is that what's best for us, but it's what He wants for us...to help us, to clothe us in crimson roses. |

| What I love the most about this band is that you can really feel emotion through their voices...it really hits you. The beginning of the first chorus just sounds so longing, remorseful, and desperate...it hits right to the heart...amazing song. | |

I'm the kind of person that gets hit on an emotional level more by music than by anything else...so music can either make me or break me, in a sense. My boyfriend just broke up with me yesterday, told me he had never loved me...and some songs I heard brought me to tears...but then I heard this song, and it's pulled me out of it and brought me back into my life a little bit, much faster than I would have if I had just waited for time to pass. My story may not be as tragic as some of you...but this is really all that's keeping me going...because he was all I had to look forward to... I agree with Midnight Warrior...I may not have worked for a whole lot of things in my life, but that doesn't mean I'm willing to just give them up without a fight. Life still has meaning for me...and that's what this song has helped remind me of.
