Dirty Pretty Things – Gin And Milk Lyrics
| 14 years ago
|
This song always reminded me of Howard Hughes! He was a recluse who shunned the world, he lived on milk at one point (I don't know if he put gin in it, but he certainly could have sometimes) and the lines "you don't really see me, I live in old movies" fit.
I just saw the first post which mentions that Carl said this song is about isolation and disillusionment with the world, which is exactly what I was thinking. |

Babyshambles – The 32nd of December Lyrics
| 14 years ago
|
The 32nd of December is a date that doesn't exist, which is the point. He doesn't want to think about it, so he's saying it happened on that non-existent date.
This is pure conjecture by the way, but it makes sense to me! |

My Chemical Romance – The Black Parade Lyrics

Just remembered the correct title for this is "welcome to the black parade". Of course! So the proper lyrics are under that. This is just an "added extra" for our amusement. Er, thanks! |

Er, are the original lyrics going to make a return? This person obviously took the time and effort to think up and then type out these words, the band obviously means something to him/her! |

The part in "mama" starting with 'well mother what the war did to my legs' etc. is like the trial section of "The Wall" album, with the different voices and all. |

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds – Hallelujah Lyrics

I feel it's a combination of what Morbid Morag and Starfighter wrote. I see the narrator in rehab with a nurse, maybe a psychiatric nurse, escaping and facing temptation then turning back. What is the significance of the cow being brown, anyone? Maybe because heroin is brown? |

Katastrophy Wife – Rosacea Lyrics
|
I think the song is the narrator's state of mind as a result of her rosacea and society's reactions to it. She's probably been ostracised. She retreats back into her own mind and then the final line is "all that i say is the final act play in dementia". |

Is this a reference to Aneurin Bevan, the Welsh politician who created the NHS?" |

I was just listening to this song and thinking how it could apply to Alex now! I'm surprised no-one else mentioned this except ShakerMaker1994 last year. |

Ella de la Noche said this song is based on an old song called Rum. Who is that by, I'd like to read the lyrics? |

James Dean Bradfield – Bad Boys and Painkillers Lyrics
| 15 years ago

James Dean Bradfield has the best voice I ever heard. I love the way he packs so much emotion in. He always has, since the earliest Manics days. I think it's especially evident in this song.
He can sound ferocious, and tender too. |

Obviously Nietzsche said "God is dead" but what's meant by "only sixteen years of age"?
Do other people agree that Orwell was proved right, a reference to his book 1984? |
