This song is about being high and planning to do grandious things... it goes poof once you sober up. Like plans on coke, you think you can take on the world when you're high, then you sober up and all that resolve is gone, disappeared into a terrible shell of paranoia and regret. It's a wicked song, Dio's best in my opinion. I think it's about a guy who has great ideas but is hampered by addictions. Like a rainbow in the dark. A beautiful thing caught up in evil and therefore can't shine. Haha, I'm stoned. But I'm being honest in my opinion. |

Rave on means that Buddy (or his song's character) wants to be made secure in the fact that his girlfriend is crazy about him. Ok, Meatwagon is absolutely, positively right. After a few years of listening to this song without thinking about it at all, just digging it, I stumbled upon this site while listening to "Touch of Evil". I hadn't seen any of the opinions about the song yet, but it got me thinking about what it meant. After a couple of careful listenings and reading the lyrics, I immediately thought it was about Rob's reluctance to accept his homosexuality. It's pretty obvious, actually. Pretty cool, because obviously, especially back when it was written, many people, particularly the religious type, considered being gay to be "evil". Love the Priest. |
