great song the opening guitar riff is one of those epic and memorable ones. love it it's also an interesting note that ville not only is an angelic singer, but also plays guitar, bass, drums, and a little piano i think. makes wonder if ville played the acoustic guitar part in the backround. ? |

This song is very different from most of HIMs stuff. Valo's voice is also very different. I don't know if it's for better or worse, but it's still... strange. Valo wrote the lyrics based off of Lovecrafts' book The Case Of Charles Dexter Ward. Good song, good lyrics, weird vocals |

One of the best songs on the album that carries it's namesake. About Love, Tragedy, and Death, this song is amazing. One of the best HIM songs yet. As well as being fun to jam to, it's lyrics are equally beautiful. "Hold me inside your infernal offering Touch me as I fall Don't lose yourself in this suffering yet Hold on..." Heavy and Dark... Just the way I like it. |

Ah... Sleepwalking Past Hope... possibly my favorite song off of Venus Doom. The poetry like lyrics are memorable, dark, and just plain fuckin' awsome, as well as guitar, bass, drums, keyboard, everything is perfect. The opening guitar riff is, hands down, my favorite HIM riff. It just sounds so... Epic. I always jam to this song with my band... and i'm pretty sure they're pissed at me for playing it so damn much. "My hell begins from the 10th and descends to the circle Six hundred threescore and six And from there I crawl beneath Lucifer's claws just for one last kiss..." These lines inparticular seem to jump out to me. So Poetic and Dark... *shivers slightly* On my list of all time greatest lyric quotes, this one would rank pretty high on said list. |

I love the intro bass lick, and ville's voice and lyrics combined are a masterpiece. This song is so sensual and, as cliche' as it may sound, epic. Pure Poetry. I love how the lines: "Take Me Into Your Arms And Sing Me Your Beautiful Song Hold Me Until We're One And Sing Me Your Beautiful Song" And the guitar solo combine. Absolutly Beautiful. Perfect to just lie back and listen to... if your in the right mood that is. |
