| Chairlift – Amanaemonesia Lyrics

I think the song is just about amnesia. "Amanaemonesia" is just a word reffering to amnesia in a joke way and all other parts in the song are just random things that the person suffering from amnesia tries to put together. |

To me this sounds all about fleeing a country. As a Greek I can see the similarity with the Greek crisis. People try to fix something broken and that will leave a big weight on our children. So it's better to just flee to a country with a better system.
That's my personal interpretation but the lyrics fit in fleeing a country for any reason. If you are sad about the situation in your country, you can (theorically) just flee to one that fits you more. |

| White Lies – Farewell to the Fairground Lyrics

I have been living in the cold arctic for the last 2 years. I thought that getting away from my family and everything familiar would make me a happier man. God do I miss things.
When I hear this song it's like the things I want to say. There is actually not place like home. And home doesn't neccesarily have to be the place where you sleep but your roots, your family, familiar faces and places, history. |

| Clearlake – No Kind Of Life Lyrics

It's quite clear what the song is about. It's all about not having to depend entirely on someone else to feel happy. People believe that happiness comes from having your soul mate but that is only what we are brainwashed into thinking. You might be happy for some minutes, hours, days. But after that what? What if that other person dies one day? You must learn to be happy from other means.. having hobbies, friends, doing something you are passioned about, finding that something you are passioned about.
Clearlake have very sophisticated lyrics in their songs. This song reminds me a lot of the book from Anthon De Mello "Awareness". |

Doesn't this in conjunction with the video clip remind anyone of the Jungle Book? For me the story resembles exactly that. Someone grown up somewhere seeks their real identity. Just like Mowgli knew he belonged somewhere else.. He belonged to the society though he was raised by wolves and met many threats(enemies) while growing up and made many friends(Baloo, Bagheera). In the end however he had to return to a completely different environment and lose everything just because he had been at the wrong place all these years. |

And how can you tell to whom "him" is referring to? It could be the same boy who is in love. I think that you just hear what you want to hear. |

I also think that he says "No, I wanna fall in love with you". The "don't" is never heard and thus there is a very different meaning. He might want to fall in love but he is incompatible to do so. He doesn't want to have sex or any casual relationship with no real feelings so he says "No" to the partner, "I want to fall in love with you" giving out his inner desire to develop feelings as he might be tired of this senseless sex desire. |

Chris wrote it. If you search about it you will see it clearly written that he is the writer of the lyrics. |

| Foals – Black Gold Lyrics

I think this is clearly about how we give such a big value to money. "black gold" except meaning oil can clearly mean any material that we overvalue. Black because valuing material is just blacking our thoughts and gold because we give it such a big value.
"Top of the world, bottom of the ocean" -> How you feel powerful and glad but in reality you are someone on the bottom, someone enslaved to your materialistic desires.
"The future is not what you see,
It's not where you've been to at all" -> The real future is not what you see from the state you are.
"The future is not what it used to be, used to be" -> Future meaning here the present. The rest is selfexplanatory.
"They buried the gold, your ancestry's sold" -> This can mean the oil(which in fact literally is your ancestors buried deep in the ground), it can mean the history, the culture(for example indian), treason. |

This is an amazing song but hard to understand what it is about. I love the last phrases "I wanna be just like you
travel all the world leave me behind". I guess she is in love with the adventure side of a guy. |

To me it sounds like he just stays home keeping all the belongings and the memories of a beloved person intact just like a mother who loses her child would do. Though in this context it could be any beloved person that died or just a girlfriend that left. |

| Tricky – Hell Is Round the Corner Lyrics

I don't think it's something burning. It sounds more like the empty noise from a pickup.
"So reduce me, seduce me,
Dress me up in Stüssy." This I think talks about selling out yourself on the dome of money and fashion. |
